Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png
Flash: Best summoner spell to make amazing plays with repositioning, especially in tandem with Playful/Trickster.

12.png
Teleport: You don't need additional damage to execute enemy champions so the global presence is nice!

Masteries Back to Top

6114.pngSorcery: Best mastery in slot for magic damage dealers!

6122.pngFeast: Fizz has a hard time laning early since he's melee and this will help mitigate the poke you receive.

6131.png6134.pngVampirism 1/5 Natural Talent 4/5: One point in vampirism rounds up to 1% and 1% lifesteal/spellvamp so you get 3/5 of mastery for the price of 1/5 and can funnel the rest of your points into natural talent!

6143.pngBattle Trance: Best in slot for characters who are fighting slightly extended trades and your ult will account for most of that time.

6312.pngSavagery: Help you out with farm early game so you can scale.

6323.pngAssassin: Great mastery for characters that are solo roaming for kills.

6331.pngMerciless: Gives you more execute damage for your assassin playstyle.

6343.pngDangerous Game: Other points don't help you out too much so the extra sustain from kills will be appreciated.

6351.pngPrecision: Great mastery for split damage characters like Fizz who benefit from both.

6362.pngThunderlord's Decree: Some extra burst for your burst kit, other keystones don't help Fizz much.

fizzq.png
Urchin Strike: This skill is used to burst someone or as a repositional tool. You can use your W with your Q for a bit more damage but Westdoor only uses it that way when it's a for sure kill.

fizzw.png
Seastone Trident: This skill allows you to CS easily if you're allowed near the creep wave. Remember to let the bar fill on the enemy before using the proc since the damage increase is insane.

fizze.png
Playful/Trickster: This is the skill that makes players hate Fizz. Using this skill to dodge other abilities and do massive damage upon landing. Understanding the enemy's kit and what they're looking for will help you use this more effectively.

fizzr.png
Chum the Waters: Two main ways to use this ultimate; trying to get the max range full damage MEGA ULTIMATE OF DEATH. Or you can use it as part of a combo if q-ing near to them and ulting while mid Q so they don't have time to react. I would focus on the later combo for mid game and use the former for teamfights so you can use it as a zoning tool as well!

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Core Items

    one and then the other

Situational Items

always get this after core items
    luxury
    boot options

Your starting item of a corrupting potion is to help you get through the early lane. You will most likely have a miserable laning phase being a melee character with no real way to CS from range.

After you get some time to farm up, focus on rushing a protobelt. This item not only gives you some flexibility and range in engages, but also gives you another movement skill to dodge enemies.

Once you have that core completed you can focus on getting your next items. Either go for your lich bane or your Zhonya's first. If you're getting popped a lot or they're just heavy AD you can rush the Zhonyas. If you're worried you need the damage but want the survivability, you can buy the sheen for lich bane and then go for the Hourglass!

Void staff is necessary after these items since most champs will be buying some form of MR to defend themselves from you. If they for some reason aren't buying MR you can go for the Luden's or the Rabbadons after this item.

For boots you want to think about your comp and the enemies. If you're the focal point damagewise you can get the Sorc Boots. I would generally advise going for a defensive boot option so you can have a bit more survivability.

  • Kassadin
    Hard

VS

Kassadin

Hard

A classic counterpick for Fizz, lots of counterplay options. For this matchup try to get out of lane ASAP or as we saw in the AHQ vs SKT match, have your jungler help you out.

Introduction Back to Top

AHQ may not have gotten out of groups but they did cause the SKT Gods to bleed. It was the first time SKT has ever lost in the second week of a World Championships. A big part of that was the play by AHQ's Fizz mastermind, Westdoor.

Westdoor is widely renowned as a two trick Fizz and TF player. He does play other character but his Fizz is very legendary for good reason. Here we look at his build and some looks into his playstyle!

Early Game Back to Top

Early game for Fizz is focused on getting CS safely! In the very early stages it can be difficult for Fizz to farm effectively. If you can get a CS and only take an auto it's worth it. But make sure when going for CS you don't take too much poke. You do have a corrupting potion start so you get some extra sustain. Once you get your W CS-ing will be a lot easier but still a pain if the enemy is playing the lane correctly and harassing you!

Once you get your ultimate you can start looking for chances to go in. If you can hit 6 before they do, attempt to all-in immediately. You command a lot of pressure once you have your ultimate and exerting it even if you can only get a flash is worth it.

Mid Game Back to Top

Mid game is centered around split pushing sidelanes so you can farm up and assassinating targets. Once you hit this point an E in the middle of the creepline can get most if not all the CS dead or very low. Clear the wave and then try to roam in their jungle. If you can catch a squishy in rotation that is your best chance to start raking up kills.

If a teamfight breaks out around an objective your goal is to get to backline and kill their carries! If you cannot do that safely or don't have a good angle, you can use your ult as a zoning tool in a choke point. Either they lose the fight because they can't get in, or they lose the fight cause they die to your ult and other forms of damage!

You can roam around with your jungler and 2 man gank enemy lanes. In this meta if you can dive their bot lane and get your bot lane ahead it's a blessing for the game tempo!

Late Game Back to Top

Late game requires a lot of vision and vision denial to make assassins work well. Consider switching to a red trinket or carrying a pink with you at all times. Your goals haven't changed since mid game and you're still focused on making sure the enemy carries die.

Things to keep in mind are your abilities to avoid damage. Using E right when you're gonna get engaged on is a great way to waste spells of the enemy. If you ult and they immediately exhaust, consider running away until exhaust dissipates so you don't get cucked.

Be careful of what the enemy is buying, if their midlaner is buying Zhonya's, you need to play around that and potentially ult another target unless you're trying to force their hourglass. If someone QSS's your ultimate it just drops on the ground and they can still be hit by it. If many enemies are buying QSS try to use max range Ults so you can get the biggest size Fish to make the chances higher to hit someone.
