Summoner Spells Back to Top

506.png
11.png

11.png Smite is a must for every jungler, it allows you to secure team objectives, such as Dragons and Barons. It'll also save you a lot of time and health while clearing the jungle. Don't forget that you can only buy 1041.png or 1039.png if you take this summoner spell.

179.png

6.png vs 4.png

6.png Ghost might look like an interesting choice for a jungler, but I assure you that it works pretty well for 120.png. His passive gives him extra AD based on his movement speed. Using 6.png will boost your presence on teamfights and while ganking too.

4.png Flash is usually the obvious choice for most junglers, but it doesn't bring all 120.png can offer. It's still is a great choice and you commit no crime on taking it. I would just recommend giving 6.png a try.

New Runes Back to Top

506.png
Those are the runes/masteries I'm using, I found them to be pretty good so far. Since they were recently implemented, it still needs more testing, and there might be better ways to build it.

179.png

Why Domination as main path?

179.png
  • Predator.png?width=64 is such a great choice, it'll boost your movement speed for 45% during 15 seconds when you activate it. That huge boost on your movement speed, will also boost your AD, that due to 120.png's passive. In addition, your next attack will deal bonus damage while you're under the effect of Predator. Electrocute.png?width=32 could also be a good choice for your early ganks, it would boost your damage a little, but I feel like Predator.png?width=32 gives you much more benefit. Dark%20Harvest.png?width=32 won't be the best choice, you would spend way too much time stacking it and I'm afraid it wouldn't be worth it.

  • Sudden%20Impact.png?width=64 will allow you to deal extra damage when you use hecarimramp.png against your opponents, that will definitely increase your chances on being successful on your ganks early on. cheap%20shot1.png?width=32 won't do much for you to be honest, crowd control is something that you lack, and so this rune won't be the best choice. Taste%20of%20Blood.png?width=32 will be the most useless rune for you, as you'll be jungling, this one wouldn't fit you as it is made for laners.

  • Zombie%20Ward.png?width=64 is a great rune to increase your team's vision on the map, as whenever you destroy a ward or whenever one of your wards dies, this rune will replace it by a Zombie Ward, those wards are visible, but lasting for 30 seconds from level 1-4, 36-120 seconds at levels 5-18 Ghost%20Poro.png?width=32 isn't that useful, as a jungler you'll constantly be inside bushes, which triggers this rune, that means you'll never get a proper place for it. Eyeball%20Collection.png?width=32 could be a good choice too, as it can boost your AD whenever you get a kill/assist, and that would make you more of a threat.

  • Ravenous%20Hunter.png?width=64might seem like an interesting choice, but I can assure you it's a very powerful rune on 120.png. It'll make him heal himself whenever he damages an enemy with an ability. Spamming hecarimrapidslash.png will give you a great healing effect in a teamfight, in combination with your hecarimw.png, you'll appear to be close to immortal! Relentless%20Hunter.png?width=32would be a great choice too, as it boosts your movement speed and that would give more damage.
I encourage you to test both of those runes and see which one fits more your playstyle. Ingenious%20Hunter.png?width=32 won't be very useful as we won't be using that many items with an active ability.

    179.pngWhy Sorcery as secondary path?
    179.png

  • Celerity.png?width=64 will increase your movement speed by 1.5% and add 9.6% of your bonus movement speed to your AD/AP. This is just perfect for you, using hecarimramp.png will give you a lot of attack damage and in combination with your passive, you'll really hurt!

  • Waterwalking.png?width=64 is a great choice to make you stronger while in river, once again more movement speed, that can be translated into more damage due to 120.png's passive and Celerity.png?width=32.
    785.jpg

    Neglected sorcery runes

  • Manaflow%20Band.png?width=32  wasn't even considered, your abilities are low cost, this rune wouldn't help at all.

  •  Nullifying%20Orb.png?width=32 might save you a little early game vs a heavy AP team, but since it doesn't scale so well, I belive that it won't be worth it.

  • The%20Ultimate%20Hat.png?width=32 might give you some benefit, reducing your ultimate's cooldown is something we want, but when we compare it to  Waterwalking.png?width=32 and Celerity.png?width=32, it won't be just as good.

  • Transcendence.png?width=32 is quite useful too, but it'll be the same story as above, when comparing to the other two runes, cooldown reduction of 10% at 10 minutes won't do it.

  • Absolute%20Focus.png?width=32  doesn't seem very beneficial, you'll be under 70% a lot of times as you'll be in the front line most likely, also the stats it gives aren't so great.

  • Scorch.png?width=32 has more benefit for laners that are constantly spamming abilities, as this isn't you, I see no reason to take it.

  • Gathering%20Storm.png?width=32 just takes too long to give something. Truth to be told, if the game goes 30 minutes, this rune would actually be excellent!

Passive.jpg

  • This makes 120.png scale really well with movement speed.

  • When you use your hecarimramp.png or 6.png, your AD will skyrocket.

    Q.jpg

  • Your main damage ability and what makes you a fast jungler.

  • Extremely strong when fighting champions, as the cooldown gets really low and you're able to spam it.

    W (8.7).jpg

  • You can be close to immortal in a teamfight with this ability, since it heals you for 30% of the damage your enemies take from any source. It's almost pathetic the healing it can do!

  • Just use it when in the middle of the fight to take full advantage of it.

  • Great way to regain some health in the jungle.

    E.jpg

  • This is your bread and butter, the scale it has with your passive and runes is just incredible, enables you to achieve a large amount of AD early on.

  • Your ganking tool, as it knocks back your enemy.

  • Extremely good escape ability.

    R.jpg

  • Makes you reach your enemies back line easily.

  • Causes fear on opponents hit by it.

  • Can travel through walls, which makes it a very good escape ability.

  • Very good engage.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

This should be your start, the extra mana regeneration will help you get sustained throughout the jungle camps.

Core Items

Your early core should look similar to this.
Around mid game, you should aim to attain something identical.
    Late game build example.

Situational Items

    Against full AD teams.
Against heavy AP and crowd control teams.
If your team lacks damage, those 3 items can be a viable option to rush for early.
Can be an alternative to Deadman's Plate, against high critical chance champion. e.g. (Yasuo, Vayne etc.)

Build Path

179.png

  • Start with 1039.png+2031.png and don't forget 3340.png.

  • On your first trip back, your goal should be to get 3706.png+1001.png and if you have extra 75g, take a 2055.png.

  • Build your way up into 3009.png and upgrade 3706.png to 1401.png. (If you feel like you need a little more damage before upgrading 3706.png, go for 3057.png instead),

  • You should focus now on getting 3078.png as soon as possible. When that is completed, your damage will get a huge boost.

  • My next target item, usually is 3742.png and as soon as I can 3065.png. The order will depend on who's fed in the other team, if AP get 3065.png, if AD take 3742.png.

  • The last item is the most situational item, but if in doubt  3053.png will definitely make a good choice.

Medium
  • Avoid early fights with him.

  • He has a really good early presence, it's very important to counter his first gank.

Overview Back to Top

Overview.jpg

  • High sustain with hecarimw.png in a teamfight, that makes him really hard to kill.

  • His passive gives him more damage based on bonus movement speed, his hecarimrapidslash.png scales with AD and also hecarimramp.pnghecarimramp.png has an excellent synergy with your passive, giving you a huge boost on AD. That's why 120.png's attack is so high in this illustration.

  • Only his hecarimw.png and hecarimult.png scale with AP, but he has close to no magic damage.

  • He's not the easiest champion you could start playing with, using his hecarimramp.pnghecarimw.png and hecarimult.png efficiently might require some practice, and also coordinating his Auto-Attack with hecarimrapidslash.png makes him a little more difficult.

Playstyle Back to Top

506.png

179.png

Early Game
179.png

  • Start Blue if on top side, with the help of your botlane it becomes much easier to jungle. If you play against a jungler that will certainly invade e.g. (64.png35.png), start on red. Same logic applies if you start on bottom side

  • Make sure you save 11.png if you have your botlane's help.

  • You're not that strong early and it isn't so easy to gank, but keep your eyes open and try to predict your enemy jungler moves and counter them, you still deal a great amount of damage as a fighter.

  • Hold lanes whenever your laners need to go back. That'll allow you to take some extra XP.

  • Focus more on getting farmed than forcing ganks.

  • Pay attention on where your enemy jungler started, it can give you hints on what he's going to do.

Summoner's_Rift_Update_Map.jpg

179.png

Mid Game
179.png

  • This is where you shine the most, try to set up ganks where your enemies have no summoners, that'll make things easier for you. By that time you should have 3078.png, that means you're really strong and don't be afraid of taking fights.

  • Keep dragon control, set up ganks around botlane in order to get dragon after, especially if it's Infernal Dragon! You shouldn't care that much about Wind Dragon, but if you have the chance still take it.

  • If your botlane has taken the first turret and they swapped with top, make sure you follow them and make a 3 man play. This will allow you to not only get their turret, but also Herald.

    179.png

    Late Game
    179.png

  • This is where you lose a little if you don't have a good team combination.

  • Your ultimate might decide the fate of your team.

  • You probably won't be able to one shot the squishy targets anymore, depends on how the game went for you and which build path you took.

  • Try to always keep vision on Baron.

  • Make sure you stick with your team in order to make some plays.

Tips & Tricks Back to Top

179.png

Tips & Tricks

179.png
  • Using 6.png will increase your AD, can give you the extra damage to get a kill when ganking.

  • When ganking, use hecarimramp.png to knockback your enemies as far away from their turret as possible.

  • You can cast hecarimrapidslash.png during hecarimult.png animation, this will ensure some extra damage.

  • hecarimrapidslash.png cancels your auto attacks, time them properly.

  • It's best to use hecarimw.png when you're close to targets that are about to suffer some serious damage.

  • hecarimramp.png can make you jump small walls, but only when there's an enemy, can be minion/monster or champion, close to it.

    127.jpg

Player's Mentality Back to Top

506.png

Pro Mindset

The most successful players all have one thing in common, either they win or lose, they always think "what could have I done better?". This is the key for you to become closer to the greatest players, it's not about how many games you play in a day, it's about what you learn from each of them.

179.png

Tiltproof

The easiest thing to do when you are losing a game is to blame your team, even if you're right, that won't give any help on winning the game. If you really want to get into the next level, try to keep cool and boost our teammates morale.

179.png

Winning Attitude

Everyone is fed in the other team, your team is far behind and the easiest thing to do here is surrender. You might argue that it'll save you a lot of time and playing would be a waste. Yes, you're right, but some of those games you'll actually win, and you'll learn much more from hard games than from easy games that finish at 15min. Just keep focus and don't stop believing. Everyone throws, even the pros.

179.png

Think about this:

If you're one of those players stuck in Silver, you feel like you deserve much more, but you are just unlucky and can't climb, it feels like a curse that Riot put on you. I will tell you straight away there's no such thing, and yes, sometimes we can be very unlucky, but it doesn't last. If you're stuck there, you might've been doing something wrong, the proof is that people boost accounts and they know exactly what to do in order to carry a game and climb quickly. If you find yourself in that situation, I suggest watching some of your own replays, maybe your mechanics are good but it only takes a few mistakes for you to not be able to carry your team. Start thinking, what could have you done better? The other team is silver too, if you're much better you should be able to outplay them in every way possible.

127.jpg

Special: How to get in The Zone Back to Top

506.png

179.png
What is being "In The Zone"?

179.png
  • It's a state of mind where you become extremely focused and hyper productive!

  • Being in the zone is being completely immersed in what you're doing. Losing the sense of time is very common while in this state of mind.

  • You'll be able to predict your opponents movements and see them almost like in slow motion!

    179.png

    How to enter "The Zone".
    179.png

  • Think about what you're doing and your role.

  • Get rid of distractions. (Close the door if open. Being on a conversation will most likely stop you from entering this state as you'll get distracted easily).

  • You need a deep understanding on what you're doing. (Once again, know your role and your opponent as well).
  • Create a balance between challenge and skill. Big challenges require huge skill. Taking a step bigger than your leg will only get you demotivated. (Yes, this one is for boosted accounts.)

  • Be patient, it might take some time to achieve and master this state of mind.

  • Now that you know about it, you just made it easier.

    Flow.jpg

    Flow_balance.jpg
Source: Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, "The Flow" (1990), p. 74.

  • As you may notice, balance is key. Even if your skill level is low, a small challenge for some people can be a true one for you!

(I do not own this video.)

  • Use headphones.

  • Those sounds will help you achieve a focused state of mind.
