Summoner Spells Back to Top

6.png - Spooky things first, who doesnt want to be faster for a longer time? I pick ghost when I play against a 92.png or someone else with a load of dashes, just to keep up with them and dodge their damage sources, But after you got your steraks gage you want them to engage on you, and ghost will be not that useful anymore. Also the blue enchant offersarrow-10x10.png you MORE movement speed.

12.png - Like all top-laners teleport is the summoner to pick, even tho after the nerfs it got you want to take TP, if you think the cooldown of it is to much? Then take Insight for 15% cd on summoner spellsarrow-10x10.png, wich make you have 255 seconds of cooldown instead of 300.

4.png - Hmm flashy.. Most common summoner in League, not a load to talk about. But who doesnt want to teleport to somewhere else in 0.1 sec ? :) 

14.png - This is a summoner mostly used for lanes wich you will dominate, such as an 75.png or an 98.png lane and all very slow, weak early game champions. You want to pick this when you are sure that you can snowball the game.

3.png - The summoner for supports, you take this most of the time on bot lane, but you can consider if they dont got a burst AD such as 104.png or 119.png, Why? Because ignite is a way better early pick when against an Ashe or Jinx.

Cunning. 

Savagery, because it will make you farm easier, when you will startarrow-10x10.png with Dorans Shield.

Assasin, your always a lone wolf at that top ;)

Merciless, who doesnt want more damage on champions below 40%? That is awesome when you are in a huge teamfight.

Bandit, you will get that 1 gold + (your an ally as well) and that 10 gold everytime you hit an enemy.


Resolve.

Recovery, hp regen always welcome, this over mr + armor because you already have scaling runes.

Tough Skin, This is awesome vs AA top laners, such as 39.png and 92.png

Runic armor, just like WInspeaker's Blessing this makes your Q heal stronger.

Insight, since the tp nerf (longer cd) this is amazing on it. Also of use on your flash ofcourse.

Swiftness, CC gtfo me please..

Grasp of the Undying, atm this is the strongest mastery in my opinion. Really makes difference in early 1 v 1 and great sustain for late 1 v 1/teamfights.

The aggresive way of Illaoi will be 18-0-12 going, left-left-left-right-left-most right. 18
0 = 0
And 12 in resolve going Right-Right-Left-Right.

Means :

Ferocity.

Fury, for the attack speed you will get not that useful but better then the ap one.

Double edged sword, gives you 1.5 more damage since your Meelee.

Vampirism, Offers some life steal will make difference in teamfights.

Oppresor, if you run Frozen mallet, Iceborn gauntlet this gives you even more damage.

Battering Blows, Armor pen always nice, also great in teamfights to kill the bruisers a bit faster.

Deathfire touch, cause enemies to bleed, since your amazing in teamfights you can let everyone bleed at once.

Resolve.

Unyielding, for better base stats at begin.

Tough skin, just better then explorer and amazing vs AA champs like 92.png & 39.png.

Runic Armor, 8% bonus on your heals of your Q? Amazing...

Perseverance, give you 200% health regen while below 20% just let you survive a bit longer in that teamfight.

Prophet of an Elder God
STATIC COOLDOWN: 20 - 12 (based on level)
Prophet of an Elder God

INNATE: Illaoi draws the presence of her god, spawning a Prophet of an Elder God.png Tentacle on nearby impassable terrain if none are nearby.

Every time a targetarrow-10x10.png is hit by Harsh Lesson.png Harsh Lesson or has their Spirit pulled by Test of Spirit.png Test of Spirit, all Prophet of an Elder God.png Tentacles in range attack the targetarrow-10x10.png once dealing 10 - 180 (based on level) (+ 120 / 130 / 140 / 150 / 160% AD) physical damage to all units in a line. Tentacles will also attack Vessel.png Vessels that enterarrow-10x10.png their range, which can only happen once per tentacle per vessel.


420.png - This is her passsive, here you can already see the real strong scaling of the tentacles, keep in mind that you can control your tentacles and where their spawn, for example if you want a tentacle around your tower stand close to you tower and wait for your passive to be active again. Try to illaoiE.png in as much tentacles possible so you dont have to use a load of mana to kill it. Because your tentacles automaticly attack cursed enemys (Vessel) try to notice that and when someone outposition illaoiW.png on them.

Tentacle Smash

PASSIVE: Illaoi's Prophet of an Elder God.png Tentacles deal bonus damage and restore 5% of her missing health if they strike at least one champion.

ACTIVE: Illaoi slams her idol into the ground, briefly summoning a Prophet of an Elder God.png Tentacle that slams down in the targetarrow-10x10.png direction.


Tentacle Smash is a AOE ability.

420.png This is her illaoiQ.png, reading the passive shows you that they deal extra damage (also your auto spawned ones) But since it doesnt give you extra AD or whatever if you upgrade your illaoiQ.png you want to max this Second. The spell effects desribed above are not very important for you since your not AP. But the spell shields are so care about that. I personaly use my illaoiQ.png mostly just to farm. But landing a good illaoiQ.png can let you farm and poke at the same time.

ACTIVE: Illaoi's next basic attack gains bonus range and causes her to dash to her target, dealing bonus physical damage.

  • BONUS PHYSICAL DAMAGE: 15 / 35 / 55 / 75 / 95 (+ 10% AD)

Harsh Lesson resets Illaoi's autoattack timer.


420.png This is Illaoi illaoiW.png, keep in mind that this also can be blocked by spellshields. This basicly resets an autoattack as said. And also resets your tentacles wich makes all tentacles in range of your targetarrow-10x10.png attack again. Use this for when you illaoiE.png someone to take the Ghost down fast. This + and iceborn gauntlet is simply a tower destroying ability. So being a splitting top laner as Illaoi actually isnt an bad idea. Keep in mind when you ult this is an 2 seconds cooldown and use it as much as possible!

Test of Spirit

Test of Spirit

ACTIVE: Illaoi hurls a tendril forward in a line that stops at the first unit hit. If the unit is a champion, the tendril pulls theirSpirit, granting True Sight icon true sight of them and placing it in front of her. The Spirit is connected to the targetarrow-10x10.png by a tether.

The Spirit has 100% of their current health and lasts for 10 seconds, reduced by 1 second each time Illaoi receives damage from the target champion. The tether will be severed if the Spirit is killed or when the target moves too far away.

Over the duration, the Spirit can be attacked by Illaoi and her allies. A percentage of the damage dealt to the Spirit is also dealt to the the target.

  • DAMAGE PERCENTAGE: 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45% (+ 8% per 100 AD)

Severing the tether Slow icon slows the target by 80% decaying over 2 seconds, and marks them as a Vessel Vessel, causing them to spawn a Prophet of an Elder God.png Tentacle every 10 seconds for the next 60 seconds. If the Vessel Vessel kills 3 Prophet of an Elder God.png Tentacles or scores a takedown on Illaoi, they are freed from their curse.


420.png This is her illaoiE.png. I max this as first now, just because of the use of illaoiQ.png in general isnt giving you extra things when maxing first. Having this maxed first gives you great poke potential on lane (if you hit it tho). Then you are around lvl 11/12, when it's midgame. Here is where 420.png shines, here is the time when YOU want to fight, and your illaoiE.png does give you great fight potentials, IF you hit it ofcourse, because people will randomly start disengaging/engaging which forms chaos and your team can engage. Always use your illaoiE.png before you use your illaoiR.png on someone for that extra tentacle. And btw ;) to mind fuck your own zed or cait :D They can ult on your illaoiE.png so try to tell that to them so they wont! Using your illaoiE.png is not only good for having that extra tentacle after your illaoiR.png but also grants that slow as soon as you chase someone! So keep that in mind.

Leap of Faith
RANGE: 450
 
COST: 100 MANA
 
COOLDOWN: 120 / 105 / 90
Leap of Faith

ACTIVE: Illaoi leaps into the air before slamming her idol into the ground, dealing physical damage to all nearby units.

  • PHYSICAL DAMAGE: 150 / 250 / 350(+ 50% bonus AD)

For the next 8 seconds, Illaoi summons a Prophet of an Elder God.png Tentacle for the duration for each enemy champion or Spirit hit, and all Prophet of an Elder God.png Tentacles become untargetable and swing 50% faster. Additionally, Harsh Lesson.png Harsh Lesson's cooldown is reduced to 2 seconds for the duration.

420.png This is her illaoiR.png Ultimate. It can be blocked by spellshields again BUT it wont stop the spawn of an tentacle. The damage just of the ult it self isnt great and Ive never just killed someone by ulting so make sure you only illaoiR.png when you have 3+ people around you! Always use your illaoiE.png as well before you use your illaoiR.png ! Keep in mind that this offersarrow-10x10.png great buffs to your tentacles such as that your tentacles become untargetable, and swing 50% faster making them almost undodgeable. And your illaoiW.png cooldown is reduced to 2 seconds no mather wich rankarrow-10x10.png your illaoiR.png is. Controlling your illaoiW.png is controlling your mind. Ive struggled early on with this because as soon as I ult I use my illaoiW.png twice and then keep clicking anywhere at the enemy champions just because im scared of dieng.

Starting Items

    90 % Of the time dorans shield.. Excellent item Health and some Health regen, saver laning and easier way to survive medium/hard lanes.
    You will only start this if your against easy matchups, such as Nasus/Shen/Malphite. Just to get them low early on.
    Supportive Start, always Relic & Refillable potion just because you will back a load, and your the one wich engage so you dont have to waste gold on pots.

Core Items

    Always the first item to built, I discovered this item gives you a load better ult possibility and better early then a black cleaver, also amazing for the early skirmishes. And 2 v 2 on top.
    Both offer amazing things, if you dominating your lane you wanna go Iceborn, Why? Because of the slows you get from and stronger AA after abilties. Black cleaver will also be in your built so you get 45% cd after just these 2.
    The best MR item for Illaoi, better heals for Q increased by 20%, 70 MR, A LOAAD OF health. And health regen. Nothing better then this.
    Most of the time merc's even when enemy is full ad, just because of the CC you will get on you. Tabis when your vs a tough AD lane opponent.
    I find this item useless since you built Black cleaver, and Iceborn, It offers you not much since your range sucks and you wont get that much to attack in teamfights. Run this when overfed and want to snowball. (Only when you can teamfight a load)
    This 2 are both nice items, even tho I run randuin because of better kiting and in general a better item on Illaoi, sinds the nerfs on the Plate I dont feel like taking this item anymore.
    Built 1 - Enemy Heavy AD. Dead mens plate if you need a tank, or else take Frozen mallet.
    Built 2 - Enemy mixed. Perfect built, the 10% cd of Spirit visage wich you get will be to much but the other things compensate for it.
    Support - Mixed Supp. Mercs because your the one who takes the hits and your weak against any cc. This is the best built for supp Illaoi in my opinion, 40% cdr, 3.5 k HP. 170 armour, and 160 MR. And tons of sustain.
    Great snowball item and can include as last item, AWESOME HEALS in teamfights, and in general a must have item when your snowballing.
    After advice from my friend, and trying it out my self, I find this an pretty nice item. Since your the one wich dives in them and the on who stands in the middle this will grant you even more damage to your enemies, built this when ahead, and instead of Randuins/Death mens.
    Why relic over Eye? Relic offers a shield wich is way better for you since your diving in the enemy all day. Eye doesnt offer anything special as well just a built in sightstone in it.
    FAVORITE BUILT ABSOLUTE HARD CARRY Red enchant on mercs for the black cleaver effect, rightous for engage and chasing + slow <3. Hexdrinker first, then full iceborn then finish Maw <3

Situational Items

    Vlad? Malphite? Annie? Anyone...? Run this when enemy has AOE Magic damage such as Vlad, Malph and Annie.
    When your team lag of split pushers.
    If your team has 0 engage, and no one else is tanky, you can run this item to engage on your own and also prock some amazing ults.
    You can replace Gauntlet for this item. This offers you more armor, same mana. But attack speed slow. This item is excellent vs Zed/Ashe/Cait with a randuin <3
    Absolute killer item, MR excellent Shield + Steraks???? DOUBLE Shields gg op. 55 MR 50 Damage, and that bit armor pen you need! Excellent Can replace black cleaver!

Starting items : 


You have few start combos such as "

1075.png and a pot, 1074.png and a pot or an 2033.png wich is not my favorite startarrow-10x10.png. Why, simply because corrupt potion doesnt offerarrow-10x10.png you as much as dorans blade or shield offers you. Only thing it offers you is mana, since 420.png does not have extreme mana costs this isnt needed. The shield offers you health and excellent health regen. And the blade offers you lifesteal and health as well. 

Conclusion : 

- Corrupt Potion is the worse of all.
- Dorans blade + pot is the best startarrow-10x10.png.
- Dorans shield + pot if your scared of your opponent.

Core aggresive items : 

3053.png - This item is great against everyone, and awesome after you got it because it offers you huge 2 v 1 potential and absurd 1 v 1 potential (blocking the whole burst of the enemy top laner) . As soon as it procks you get 30% of your total HP as shield over 8 seconds, also 25 % extra AD during the prock and NOT AS SOON AS YOU GOT THE ITEM, ONLY DURING THE PROCK. This is an common mistake wich a load of guide authors make wich is pretty bad in my opinion. Always stackarrow-10x10.png your Fist before finishing this item.

3071.png - Is most of the time your second core item, MOST of the time this item offers you some movement speed after an AA or an ability, 20% cooldown reduction wich is nice on 420.png some HP, and last but not least the damage. Its a great item overall but against AP, if your winning or losing buying an Maw of Mawmortius is better. 
Taking furor enchant offers you almost the same effect so this item is easyly replaceable.

3025.png - Is in my opinion an better item then the black cleaver, this does not only offer you armor but also offers you slows after an ability extra damage after an ability wich applies on towers as well (only with your W). It offers you the same amount of cooldown reduction 20%, 65 armor wich is amazing and tons of mana. And the sheen effect. If your up against an AD and your Ahead built this item best way to snowball is to be tanky as hell and dealing damage. This offers you that great tankiness against AD and amazing damage.

3156.png - This is an amazing item, it offers you MR and AD, and armor penetration wich is great or rather perfect on Illaoi. This also offers you an shield so basicly you will be double shielded in fights. If your up against an mostly AP enemy comp always built this item, if your up against an AP opponent on your lane just built a 3155.png and finish your maw later on like after your 4th item. 

Conclusion : 

- Steraks ALWAYS as first item no mather what.
- Iceborn as second item when your snowballing.
- Black Cleaver is replaceable for just furor and I almost never built this as second item anymore.
- Maw, buy the hexdrinker first, and finish this item after you got your 4th item.

Core MR items :


3065.png - Is by far your best MR item, because of the 20% increased effect on healing effects (your Q is an healing effect). The health and the MR, not much to discuss about but it outscales a 3102.png on so many ways. And also not to forgot the CDR. Not having the black cleaver means you need this item. 

3102.png - Ive built this once till now in 420.png, just because you really dont get much extra of this item except the spellshield wich is not needed since you got at least 1 shield of your steraks and mostly an second shield of your Maw. Only built this when enemy only got their AD as an AD champion.

Conclusion :

- Spirit Visage > Banshee 90% of the time.
- Banshee only needed when enemy is 4 champs AP.

Core Armor items : 


3110.png - This is my most common armor items since it replaces the black cleaver's cooldown reduction offers you great armor and that 15% attack speed reduction to enemy's in range of 7 teemo's (almost double range of your ult) 90 armor. And mana wich is needed. Only built this when you have over 2.5 k HP and more HP to follow. 

3143.png - I run this item over 3742.png 80 % of the time, This combined with an 3110.png reduces the enemy attack speed by 27.5 % wich can be compared to the attack speed you get of an 3087.png , 3085.png and so on. This item also reduces the critical strikes of enemy's by 10% so built this when your up against 22.png or an 157.png for example.
3068.png - Viable item not as good as the other 2 but good enough to make the list. This item offers you a load of early tankiness and damage without heavind AD. Only built this when the enemy doesnt have much damage early to mid so you can dive them and use the effect of it a load. 

3742.png - Terrible item on 420.png to be honoust, why? Simply because your illaoiW.png cancels the effect of it, since it's been nerfed I barely use this item on any champion.

Conclusion : 

- Frozen heart most of the times when you dont built your Black cleaver and you will finish around 3k HP.
- Randuins when you got a black cleaver and the enemy crits, attacks a load.
- Sunfire Cape only when enemy doesnt have a load of early damage/early-mid game damage.
- Dead men's plate eeeh did we even mention this item....

Boots & their enchants : 

This are the 2 boots your going to use,

3111.png -Most of the time I run merc's even when up against an AD top laner since 90% of the time or your lane opponent or the jungler got some kind of CC, Always run this when your opponent is AP. 

3047.png - Only run this when your lane opponent and your jungler are both AD, and both dont got any heavy cc such as light slows, etc. 

Enchantments : 

1320.png 1315.png :

Furor - This really backs the effect of black cleaver, so when you decide to built more defensive and not built a black cleaver get furor for the effect of the black cleaver. 

1323.png 1318.png :

Distortion - Buffs your summoner spells : 

6.png 4.png 12.png, All gain an additional 15 % cooldown. And a movement speed bonus.

6.png - The movement speed you get from ghost is inreased to 40% from 28% (during the whole ghost)

4.png - You gain a 20% movement speed for 1 second after you flashed.

12.png - You gain 30% movement speed for 3 seconds after you teleported, (interupted on hit of something)


Conclusion :

- Furor only built this when you dont have an black cleaver.
- Distortion built this when you have your black cleaver.

As long as you dodge her ahriseduce.png you are pretty save against her, but killing her is something hard since she got her ahritumble.png. If you teamfight against her and she got her ahritumble.png up, try to engage someone else after she used her ahriseduce.png.

84.png She doesnt have a load of burst anymore, at least if shes not fed ofcourse, using you illaoiE.png while she goes in her akalismokebomb.png counters her. Shes squishy and 3157.png wont be one of her first items to built so you can shut her down easyly.

32.png Is really annoying all just because of hes curseofthesadmummy.png, You wanna play like an carry against amumu sitting in the back and waiting till he used hes curseofthesadmummy.png so you can free engage, but since you will be one of the tanks that wont always be an option. Built merc's and Hexdrinker to freely engage and not die from hes curseofthesadmummy.png.

Easy
34.png Shes fairly strong, but easy to engage her kit is easy to dodge as well only a well placed crystallize.png can stop you from engaging. Not much to say just try to avoid to get stunned.

Medium
1.png Her passive is simply a pretty hard counter for you, but since you can counter it easyly by clicking on her and it shows you when she got her passive stacked or not it isnt a big deal. She deals damage but is unmobile as well, she wont ever one shot you since you got a Steraks and you can engage her easyly in teamfights as well. Just keep an eye on her passive.

22.png, I rate ashe medium because she got slow on everything her AA, her asheW.png everything. But shes squishy except her AA and her asheW.png she wont do anyhting else to you. If you run Illaoi + Kalista bot against her the lane is pretty free. Rush Gauntle.

Medium
268.png in general can be annoying, and when he got hes 3116.png he really really will annoy you, You can built boots of swiftness if he got a 3116.png and someone else got slows as well. Hes azirR.png is also really annoying against you so try to avoid him, or built a 3800.png as well to engage him.

Easy
432.png, Bard is easy to play against, no high mobility, no easy cc to land, nothing that counters you. And hes squishy as well having Bard against you is a big thumb up for you.

Blitzcrank

Easy
53.png, is almost the same as Bard both prettyh squishy. But the cooldowns of blitz are a bit longer so it makes it easier for you to engage him. He has no heavy cc unless he silence with hes ult wich doesnt take to long as well. This lane shouldnt be a problem for you.

63.png Has a load of burst, and damage over time wich will annoy you pretty hard, but hes only CC is a stun wich he wont hit on you probably. You can consider to built an 3190.png against him if you will be the only tank, otherwise ask your support to do so, it will help you a load against hes brandwildfire.png. 150.png This also will be an skill matchup just like 122.png only that 150.png actually offers range and easy kite against you. He can be annoying as hell but hes mini gnar is Squishy as hell <3. As long as hes mini gnar and the jungler ganks you take the fight and kill them both, at least if you got a 3053.png. In teamfights 150.png will be engaging and he will be trying to land good ults. Avoid that and engage after hes engage failed (it fails as soon as he becomes mini gnar and you are all alive). Gauntlet as second item against him is excellent. illaoiQ.png First to max because of the sustain you get from. illaoiW.png Second for the engage and the CD.

79.png Is also easy to kite, dodge. Hes cooldowns are not to long but hes abilties are just fairly easy to predict and to dodge. Irelia engages u as soon as she engage you use your illaoiE.png then illaoiQ.png and if she in range a illaoiW.png, makes you win the trade. If she want all in repeat this but ult after your illaoiE.png !

40.png A good one, can be really really annoying. In general I like an  40.png because shes squishy but in teamfights a good one can really really avoid you engaging wich is hell of a load annoying. He needs to engage you if he wants to kill you so that is in your favor as well, you can turn around a fight easily if you illaoiE.png and illaoiR.png and then just kill him. A good item against him is ofcourse 3025.png.

222.png Is a very high skilled AD actually, she doesnt got any escapes in her kit, and CC thats easy to dodge, Shes unmobile just like you but after you built an 3800.png getting to her is literaly childsplay. 222.png has huge carry potential in fights tho so dont leave her as last because she can melt you gusy down if shes decently strong. In general shes easy to engage and easy to kill, do that early on sho you can shut her down. As support rush 3800.png just to destroy her.

I've played yesterday against one and made her crazy. 429.png passive is just the thing that counters you hard, makes it hard for you to hit your illaoiQ.png and tentacles of your illaoiR.png. My advise is to not play 420.png supp against her and if you are top an 3025.png is needed 100%.

Focus her quickly when she does so and kill her.

Most of the time if she engages she will lissandraR.png her self. Abuse that if she does so hard engage her backline. Kill the backline and come back for her later.

And in fights just engage her easily and kill her.

Against Malphite, you kinda have an free lane. Mainly focus on farming try to get 80 before 10 minutes, and around 160-180 on the 20 minute mark. After that you will be an monster. Q-W-E max order. 3053.png first, 3025.png after. For cdr and tankiness against her, Built tabis instead of Mercs.

Shen is decent against Illaoi thanks to his kit, wich offers him safety and sustain. At early and Early-Mid you will have a disadvantage after you 25% CD Ur fine with him. This lane is considerd as a Skill matchup in my opinion and no champ really has a big advantage to the other. Max your E first to keep him poked 24/7 and under hes tower.

238.png as everyone knows. If this guy is good you are having an hard time. A good zed can Kite your low mobility ass easy af. As soon as he uses everything try to get a bit damage on him, after that leave him behind and hope that your carrys kill him.

Pros - 


- One of the best teamfights after a 3053.png.
- Massive damage A.T.M. will be less but still a load after the nerfs. 

- In general hard to play but now pretty easyarrow-10x10.png thanks to being pretty strong in teamfights, in my opinion the new Darius, Azir gods of the teamfights and fast AOE damage.

- Great ult with 1 v 3 potential.

- Defentily a upcomingarrow-10x10.png one trick poney champ (Hard mainers can climb elo HARD)

Cons - 

- Will get nerfed !

- Unmobile and pretty easyarrow-10x10.png to kite!

- After the nerfs will be hard to play her good for low elo.

- Very Very Very weak against any stuns longer then 1.5 seconds, I advice NOT to pick her against a Taric, or someone with long snares wich make u unavailable to use your abilities. No abilities = No damage, and no basic tankiness without abilities.

Illaoi as support, the reason why Illaoi support is viable is because of her ult, and her E, Having 2 champions on bot lane consistanly and 3 when the jungler is ganking is amazing for her ult wich makes you turn around ganks fast, You close to drake as well and can compete drake fights as well. After few assists or kills you can snowball the game hard on bot lane. Her E is awesome and you have to max it as a support to keep them poked 24/7.

TIPS FOR USING illaoiE.png.

If you completearrow-10x10.png your illaoiE.png, they will get cursed having random tentacles to spawn near them and attacks them, If they escape from you with low live but there is a tentacle near them W on anything that you can. 

Another trick with your illaoiE.png is that she can see stealthed people when she hitted her illaoiE.png on them before they goarrow-10x10.png stealth, such as Wukong, Akali, etc. 


In my opinion you should not use your illaoiE.png if there is no tentacle of you near to the place you illaoiE.png because you will just waste your mana and wont be able to output the completearrow-10x10.png damage, I always use my illaoiE.png when I have at least 1 tentacle close to my spot but preferable 2, the tentacles attack it first, and then illaoiW.png to reset them, with that combo you  got the ghost down to 40% pre level 11.

Your illaoiE.png also allows you to get a ghost of someone, if you illaoiR.png after your illaoiE.png and the real enemy is in range as well you will get 2 tentacles, ghost counts for a champion as well.


COMBOS : 

My most used burst combo is illaoiQ.png--illaoiE.png--illaoiR.png--illaoiW.png. Why I use E before your W is because of youll get the ghost of your opponent first, So when you activate your W you double attack your enemy and the ghost, for extra damage, Also Ult before you W because of the extra tentacle youll get. I didnt found other combos yet but still discobvering!

LANE CONTROL : 

FIrst of all you a top laner, there is only one side where ganks can come from, or 2 just how you see it behind or from aside. First step to controlling your lane is to buy a 2043.png and place it in your Tri-Bush, that is 40 % of your lane control. Since the ward rework in this preseason you can have up 2 wards in your Trinket. As an ex-jungler I know that it takes up to at least 2:40 to hit level 3 as a jungler, after that most junglers tend to base and buy their first item, walking from base to the river cost around 35/40 seconds, so that makes 3:30 around 3:30 you place your first ward in the normal bush or around rift herald, after your first back buy a pink and place it in your Tri-Bush after having one in the Tri-Bush and one in the normal bush or around Rift Herald. That grants you 80% Lane control. 
A big part about lane control is. After having your pink and trinket wards up you are pretty save.

HOW TO POSITION IN LANE : 

If you got the steps of Lane Control, you can position yourself how you want, mostly positioned aggresively. But positioning in lane is also something wich has to do with the enemy top laner and jungler. For example, we take the fact that the enemy top laner does an decent amount of damage like Trundle, Irelia etc. if the enemy jungler has decent damage as well or much damage such as 60.png , 28.png , 64.png , 5.png . You want to be more around your turret.  BUT if you play against a 54.png , 31.png , 32.png or someone with not that much damage, and your sure about your self you can push and actually wait for them to gank, If you play it right and already have your enemey top laner lower then your self its an easy thing to take a double kill from that. Otherways just be save. 

HOW TO SETUP A GANK FOR YOUR JUNGLER :

This is a hrd thing on top, because you can have only 1 side where aa jungler can come from. A general tip wich low elo can use and low elo probably doesnt know already : If you sit around the bushes your top laner is forced to sit around the river unless hes confident that he can take your damage, If your jungler wants to gank you can also depush and last hit so your jungler can gank.

First of all let's start with why do you wanna play 420.png as a support and why could this be effective. 420.png Ult is the things wich makes Illaoi strong, misplacing your ult cost you your live/opness, being bot with 2 v 2 and maybe 3 v 2 offersarrow-10x10.png you the chanse to land better ults, but if you readed my tips, you see that if you E someone that he/she counts for a champion as well making the possibility to spawn 3 tentacles wich makes bot a slaughter. Even tho 420.png benefits a load of AD items, you can built her sustainly as well, to be that unkillable tank with her sustain of her tentacles. 

Lane Control :

Like the top lane, warding is the most important thing of your lane control. Since your with 2 as well will make it harder for Junglers to gank. So by your first back you want to buy a pink, place it around drake or the bush in the river. After taking sightstone this will offerarrow-10x10.png you more vision and place it around their Tri-Bush and the general bot river bush. 

How to position in lane

This mostly will depend of your adc's playstyle, is it someone who wants to farm? Is he aggresive? Is he an experienced AD? At this time most AD players dont know how to play Against & With an Illaoi so this makes it hard. But the first 3 questions answer a load. Also have a look wich AD u got, do you got a low damage early adc, do you have  a burst adc etc. Is your jungler hanging around bot? Or around mid top? This all is the answer how to position in lane. At level 6 your more free to push tho, pre 6 Illaoi is not that strong and you need to be save. 
If you got a CC adc such as Ashe or a Jinx you can engage early on as well as long as they land their CC.

Setting up a gank for your jungler : 

At bot this is a bit easier then top since you can zone your enemy with both yourself and your AD, Illaoi has pretty strong level 6 dives as well as long as she plays vs no heavy CC enemys. Hanging around the bushes makes your enemy's farm closer to the river. Freezing the lane makes them be on your half of the lane, making it easier to gank. Since your a support you will probably have red trinket, use it to deward and make it possible for your jungler to gank without getting spotted.

32.png : Your best friend, this jungler is tanky and has a amazing ult. During hes ult your freearrow-10x10.png to place your ult as good as possible also he will tanky their first cooldowns giving you some free time to output your damage, Amumu is absolutely my #1 on the list. 

113.png : Kinda the same as amumu amazing ult and easyarrow-10x10.png to play in with. This champion even offersarrow-10x10.png slows every 3/4 seconds making you do 2.5% more damaging if your running the aggresive masteries. Also makes it easier for you to hit your tentacles easier and kite easier. Shes a bit less tanky then amumu but has a better kit overall. Sharing the #1 with Amumu tho.

Just some tentacles looking for company :


33.png He does the work for you, takes all damage, can pick out someone and is hell of a tank. I dont give him a first or second spot because hes just a single target engager and nothing more. You will like him because he can tank  for a looong time, and everyone will auto-die from him.

111.png Natural tankiness, has engage has slows just a Ult that isnt that amazing. Going in with him feels like 2 gods fighting vs the rest. You 2 are men and Wife, not the first spot because hes ult isnt that effective with you. 

Did we even know them ? 

60.png Can pick out champions, but solo-queue elise's arent tanky, they will engage and die then you will be next. Not a jungler that is my favorite when playing Illaoi, but can carry a game thanks to her early pressure.

62.png Almost made it to the top 3 but since people dont built him tanky and are pretty selfish when playing him make me reconsider, He has engage and an amazing ult if you can follow him up its amazing if u cant its not.

72.png Also almost made it to the top 3 but skarner is a champion who runs hes own life and cant do much at the same time, mobile and also can carry early game but isnt amazing in teamfight.


Any other junglers like 421.png , 64.png , 5.png and more are junglers for solo carrying a good lee can be amazing, but a good reksai or xin can just carry the early/mid game and in late they wont be able to help you during teamfights a load.


Mid laners that synergize with Illaoi Back to Top

61.png : In my opinion the #1, amazing wombo, if shes premade with you or just has an awesome synergyarrow-10x10.png with you and balls you, and you engage to ult for your own. She can orianadetonatecommand.png as well.. Will damage everyone to 50% in just 2.5 sec. Since you are there when she ults you have 2 free illaoiW.png to do and do tons of damage.


127.png : Almost the same as 61.png but a bit worse ult. Still amazing ult to take the attention away from you to her. She engages use her lissandraR.png enemys are confused meanwhile you ult destroy them take the focus on you and she back out of her ult to do some damage.

Some random friends :


3.png : Kinda the same as liss and Orriana, but has less kit synergyarrow-10x10.png with you since hes ult is almost the only thing wich helps you out, also that hes galioidolofdurand.png is hard to land. After hes ult he can speed you up and shield you but that isnt as amazing as Liss & Ori.


112.png : Hes viktorgravitonfield.png can help you out a load, but its easy to dodge, even tho if u start the engage he can viktorgravitonfield.png viktordeathray.pngviktorchaosstorm.png easyly after that, creating chaos and tons of damage. 



Basicly everything wich has kind off heavy CC synergyze with you, mid laners like 238.png 4.png 157.png and more are champions wich almost have 0 cc, zed has literaly 0. They are solo mid laners and wont really help you out in your game.

Insane God tier :


1.png : Can be mid as well, but if you have on of the mentioned mid laners you want 1.png as your bot lane friend. Everyone knows Annie and knows her devastating anniepassive.png. She can stun with her incinerate.png wich is not hard to hit or with her infernalguardian.png wich is really easyarrow-10x10.png to land.


25.png : Her soulshackles.png is amazing and the possibility to pick someone out and keep him CC'ed for 4 seconds + is just insane. Everyone ever had a feeling that they were in Jail while getting snared by Morg. Running an 3800.png with morg in your team will help her land amazing soulshackles.png.


They are trying.. :


412.png : No one can keep him out of their favorite supports list, Thresh has amazing CC and pretty low cooldown, He wont offer you much help to you or to your ult. But he offersarrow-10x10.png a load of peel and cc wich makes it amazing and offersarrow-10x10.png kinda the same as Annie and Morg. A good thresh on your side can make you carry 2 v 5.


89.png : Has hard engage and decent CC, and a decent leonasolarflare.png as well. Not that easy to land good but offers at least an amazing slow wich offers you to engage them easier. Leona is amazingly tanky as well and has short cooldown on her leonashieldofdaybreak.png

201.png : Stand behind Braum, yes yes listen to that. Braum is amazingly tanky and 70% of the time I see an 3800.png on him wich offers him amazing engage (and you as well). He has one of the strongest passives in the game wich makes him strong, also hes ult if good used can help you out a load.



These are decent but by far not close to the other ones mentioned : 99.png111.png98.png223.png, Nauti and Tahm coming out of the top. Peel supports like Janan/Nami are simply not amazing supports with Illaoi.

AD carry's that synergize with Illaoi Back to Top

Peel their ass off like its your wife :  


429.png : You and Kali can marry eachother her ult synergize perfectly with yours, if you land a 2 man knock up from her ult you have a freearrow-10x10.png ult, Kali is very mobile so you dont even need to peel her. After her runaans your lane is 90% won instead if you guys are already 0-10. A good Kali offers you a free lane.


222.png : Jinx has everything except decent mobility, she offersarrow-10x10.png CC with her jinxE.png and jinxW.png. And has her Q wich deals ton of AOE damage, and her ult as well. This is my #2 AD with I want with me when playing 420.png supp. When you ult and gain attention to you she can freely place her jinxE.png good and a nice jinxR.png as well. Dont worry about taking the kills you can solo carry a lane.

Honorable Tentacles : 


22.png : Ashe offer light CC, wich are slows in all of her abilities. Thats nice but not excellent. Her asheR.png is nice but on bot just stuns for 1.5 sec, in that time you need to be fast to do you combo. She has slows makes it easy for you to play in with but doesnt offer anything special wich helps you.


110.png : Everyone knows hes ult, can stun 5 people but its easy to dodge, and easy to dodge when landed on someone since you can see in wich area you have to stand to dodge it. Anyways at low elo he can do great with you but at a bit higher elo he wont be that effective.



All other adc's like 119.png15.png104.png67.png18.png etc. Are adc with almost 0 cc or light cc, only vayne has a nice stun. They are adc's wich play for their own since you dont offer any CC you wont be able to do anything for them . But this doesnt mean that you cant win your lane ;)

Early Game as Illaoi Back to Top

This is the most important state of the game not just for 420.png, but for any other champ as well. Here you look who you enemy is, how they play, and are they good, yes ofcourse but in what are they good? This are the most important questions I ask my self when I play the game, for example you play against an 11.png, he might be splitting all day just because hes useless at teamfights, or bad at timing hes alphastrike.png. Abuse this try to teamfight as much as possible, save your tp for him, and try to contest big fights as much as possible. Now all about 420.png your early isnt bad but isnt good as well, you have decent cooldowns but not that much damage, to your level 5 my advise is to ward and trade equal at level 5 your Q gets insane damage and at your 6 you can trade 2 people easyly out. Its not the best phase of the game but try not to fight till you get your 3053.png.  

Mid Game as Illaoi Back to Top

420.png Illaoi really shines here, not to tanky but her 3053.png offers you a load. You deal tons of damage and you win 3 vs 5's and more. Its also the phase where you can 2 v 1 top when the enemy is ganking. You will outtrade almost every top laner as soon as you hit your illaoiE.png. Also because your 3053.png blocks their burst damage. This also grants you engage possibilities in teamfights and disengage when your low. You wanna try to force drakes even if your a couple of kills behind you will win it if YOU are farmed and you got YOUR items. AT This phase You are the carry of your team and you need to act like that. Stick up with your team, keep your TP for when someone is pushing. But remember to push your lane so you got more time to do stuff with your team. Also follow the first steps of the early game, did players get better or do they hit their skillshots better etc, do they got items wich counter you? Such as 3140.png for your E, or 3102.png or a 3157.png

Late Game as Illaoi Back to Top

420.png Still remains strong but not as strong as the mid game since everyone is full built, and there are a load of tanks and the carrys always got something defensive or sustain. You wont be able to kill almost everyone in just those 8 seconds of your ult. This is where you try to pick the 3 v 3 and not the 5 v 5. Unless the enemy got very low amounts of CC, or they are squishy. Always look to their tanks, what tanks are they do they got a load of health and decent resistance? Or other way around? Much health is never a problem since you deal tons of damage and that 5000 hp will be gone in 5 attacks. Since thornmail isnt a bad item against you you want to watch wich tanks got a thornmail or not. Can you get easyarrow-10x10.png to them as well? Are you the only real tank? Or does no one has engage of your team? Then 5 v 5 is really bad for you, since you will get focussed down because you will be the frontline, if thats the problem you are forced not to built anything more aggresive then your 3071.png. If you wanna be that tanky Illaoi built 3053.png1320.png3110.png3156.png3068.png3065.png. This built offers you some damage (Sunfire cape, and Maw) and tankiness having both resistence around 200, and also 35% CDR 20% extra healing of your Q and 4000 HP!

How to play with Illaoi Back to Top

420.png -

How to play with 420.png. Most of the time an 420.png is a bit tanky or very much, but you want to be an tank as well or at least someone with engage. A good team comp is if there is someone around 420.png wich is actually tankier then her because he can engage take their first wave of damage and after 420.png just destroys them. Illaoi doesnt need a load of ganks after her level 6 because she got a huge outplay potential. Try to help her pre-level 6 and after leave her alone. Utility is good with her, an 15.png as AD isnt that bad. Also having 3800.png on you helps her a load. 420.png can be considered as an carry of your team because of her great teamfighting, simply treat her like one, in fight try to peel first for her so she can freely engage after. As an team with 420.png in it has great jungle fights, the most of the time you as team dont want to fight in the jungle, because you can get engaged from everywhere. If you have an 420.png this is absolute party for you, jungle is small, if she lands 4 man illaoiR.png in a small space... They are not dodgeable, so you will win the fight. Also baron and dragon fight are amazing with her. 

Conclusion :

- Play someone with engage to help her out
- Try to have at least someone equal tanky as her, preferable tankier.
- Try to bait jungle fights out with her.
- Peeling for her early on in fights so she can engage freely after isnt an bad idea. 
- Pre-level 6 she might need 1/2 ganks, after level 6 you shouldnt worry about her.

How to play against Illaoi Back to Top

420.png - 

Many people say that Illaoi is op, Illaoi is unbalanced bla bla bla.  Ofcourse she is if you dont know how to play against her. So here are some little tips that might help you out. Pre-level 6 Illaoi is pretty weak, take advantage of her. Also when she uses her illaoiE.png on you, dont freely walk OUT of the circle, because you will get cursed, not even that TRY TO FIGHT HER since it reduces the damage to you if you fight her. After level 6 bait her ult and dash away, if you stay you get melted. Not because shes op but because you decide to fight her. When she has no ult after level 6, and you do always engage her. Shes weak without ult, and also very unmobile. 

Conclusion :

- Engage her when she uses her illaoiE.png, makes her do less damage.
- Dont walk out of her illaoiE.png range will get you cursed.
- When ever she dont have her illaoiR.png after level 6 engage her.
- Try to bait her illaoiR.png during the lane and just walk out of range, after that fight her.
- You cant say it enough. WHEN AN 420.png ULTS WALK OUT OF IT!!!!!

Are you tanky or not? [General] Back to Top

This is in general not just for 420.png but for all of your champions. Here you can see for your own if you tanky enough, and u have the freedom to built one more aggresive item for example instead of 1 more tanky item. 


Examples with real numbers:

25 resistance: 80% incoming damage leads to 20% reduction and 125% total effective health

50 resistance: 66% incoming damage leads to 33% reduction and 150% total effective health

100 resistance: 50% incoming damage leads to 50% reduction and 200% total effective health

200 resistance: 33% incoming damage leads to 67% reduction and 300% total effective health

300 resistance: 25% incoming damage leads to 75% reduction and 400% total effective health

And ofcourse do you use your resistence good because loads of armor but low health is useless as well :

At 50 armor / MR you should have at least 1100 HP

At 100 armor / MR you should have at least 1500 HP

At 150 armor / MR you should have at least 2000 HP

And at 200 armor / MR you should have at leas2500 HP

So, my accountarrow-10x10.png swap didnt really work out since that one is banned as well. I got an friends accountarrow-10x10.png now which I can use basicly, this is my new account. Ive been placed brone 5 after 8/10 wins, atm I'm in bronze 3 and further climbing without any pressure from the enemys I face. My main goal is to reach Diamond this season and start streaming.
