14.pngYou'll usually take this just for the high kill pressure and to secure a kill on the enemy laner. Very helpful against sustain mids like 8.png and 50.png. Ignite is most used in Solo queues because you can't always rely on your team to get the job done ;)

21.png Take this if you're up against a burst mid who leaves little time to react like 99.png ,1.png134.pngor 101.png. This with karmasoulshield.png will almost make you unkillable in lane. You could also use this when you're up against 238.png or 157.png

3.png Unusual choice for a mid laner, but if your support took 14.png and you really need to have an exhaust for 157.png238.png91.png. Exhausting these guys will severely hinder them in team fights. 

1.png Pretty useful and can substitute for 3140.png in some situations but would almost only consider it against a heavy cc mid where 1 stun = death. Examples are 99.png1.png3.png101.png25.png127.png13.png in case they flash stun/bind you. Cleanse is also really handy if the enemy jungler is on your case and really really wants to kill you for some reason. I'm talking to you 32.png and 33.png.
12.pngIs an option against pushy mids or mids who roam all over the map. It can help you apply equal map pressure or return to lane to save your turret. 90.png74.png

I usually take thunderlord simply because 45% CDR 43.png is pretty annoying to deal with for the enemy team. I went with assassin because if you're solo laning its nice to have the extra damage, I don't feel the biscuits are useful past the first 5 minutes. Using w alone is enough to proc thunderlord as it goes through 3 ticks of damage. 


Consider taking some points in resolve if you're in a very shield dependent lane for example 101.png or 99.png as it will make the shield strength stronger and increase the heal on your R + W if you go ruinic armor. 

Another thing to consider is taking deathfire touch if the enemy team is very beefy and you need to burn through some of their MR. I don't normally take it because Karma's primary harass is not a single target spell and you don't get the max burn effect.

Obviously gotta max the Q first as it's your main tool for harass and damage. I usually will go for W second but you should consider maxing your E first if you're not in range to use the E or you're getting poked a lot.

    Pretty standard start for most Ap mana casters

Core Items

    You will usually have these 3 items in any build
    Example build against AD heavy comp
    Example against lots of squishy Ap you can burst

Situational Items

    Morello for high sustain teams, or athene for a little bit of magic resist
    Get this if They have an AP assasin who keeps targeting you aka Fizz, Diana, Akali, Kassadin, Ekko
    Very good for Karma against teams building a lot of HP
    More damage vs more utility
    Very slow build, very strong, only get this if enemy team is stalling for late game.

Ahri

Medium

At level 1 try to land some karmaheavenlywave.png on her. If you hit level 2 first or she misses ahriseduce.png, FINISH HER with karmaspiritbond.png + karmachakra.png + karmaheavenlywave.png + 14.png. This is a very delicate lane, if you wait too long to get ahead of her or take ahriorbofdeception.png harass, she'll start zoning you with ahriseduce.png. After level 6, she'll be too hard to kill because ofahritumble.png unless you have help. She has strong roams, but SO DO YOU. If she leaves lane, wait a few seconds to follow her to make sure its not a ahriseduce.png trap. The hardest part about this lane is ahriorbofdeception.png can go through minions and has more range than karmaheavenlywave.png. Weave in and out of the minions so she can't land ahriseduce.png, but line up shots to karmaheavenlywave.png.

VS

Akali

Easy

Very easy to harass in lane. Every time she comes to cs, give her a karmaheavenlywave.png to the face and some auto attacks or force her to last hit under tower if they have a low pressure jungler like 19.png. By the time level 6 comes, you should have a nice lead, but make sure you save karmachakra.png for when she engages with akalishadowdance.png. Your karmaspiritbond.png can see through her akalismokebomb.png.  I recommend getting 3001.png eventually because her burst gets scarier and scarier and she will be upset with you after laning phase.

Anivia

Hard

Your window to play aggressively is at level 1, but be wary of her passive. Try to land some karmachakra.png + karmaheavenlywave.png on her because at level 2 she'll have the advantage. If you ever try to karmaspiritbond.png her you will get a flashfrost.png + frostbite.png which will do a lot of damage to you. flashfrost.png out ranges karmaheavenlywave.png and isn't blocked by minions so use karmasoulshield.pngto help evade it or mitigate some of it's damage before it hits. After 6, she'll be clearing the wave with glacialstorm.png and it may become difficult to keep up with karmaheavenlywave.png. Consider taking 12.png

VS

Annie

Hard

You can try to harass from max range with karmaheavenlywave.png but be careful because she can retaliate with disintegrate.png which is sure to hit as it is not a skill shot. You can look for opportunities to trade with karmaspiritbond.png + karmachakra.png + karmaheavenlywave.png but only once she has just wasted her stun. After level 6, never try to karmaspiritbond.png or you'll be in range of infernalguardian.png and that will nuke you before you even get your shield up. Consider taking 1.png or buying 3001.png so you can survive her burst but even then infernalguardian.png will be blocking your skill shots toward her. Even if you try to farm passively she has infinite farming mana with disintegrate.png and you don't.

Azir

Medium

At level 1, he's forced to take azirW.png so try to land some karmachakra.png + karmaheavenlywave.png. After that he'll have significantly more harass potential as karma has relatively low range. Use karmasoulshield.png to sponge some damage from azirQ.png and be sure to hit him with karmachakra.png + karmaheavenlywave.png during that time since he can't move. He'll have better clear than you eventually so don't waste karmaheavenlywave.png on a complete miss. Beware ganks as well as you have no way to get around his azirR.png aside from 4.png. I would max karmasoulshield.png second as there wont be much chance to karmaspiritbond.png him without taking too much damage.

Brand

Medium

His brandfissure.png outranges karmaheavenlywave.png and can go through minions so try to just harass and farm at max range. Most 63.png play aggressively so if he ever wastes brandblaze.png or flat out misses it, go ahead and karmaspiritbond.png + karmachakra.png + karmaheavenlywave.png him. brandfissure.png has a noticeable cast so you should have time to karmasoulshield.png before it hits, max it second.

Cassiopeia

Medium

There's not too much threat from her at level 1, so go ahead and get some karmaheavenlywave.png's off. Afterward if you ever get hit with cassiopeianoxiousblast.png or cassiopeiamiasma.png be prepared to take a chunk of damage from cassiopeiatwinfang.png. Consider maxing karmasoulshield.png second for the mobility and to sponge some of the poison damage. karmaspiritbond.png is fine too if she's not that great a 69.png as she's quite squishy and your burst has potential to kill her before 6. After 6 though, be careful when you karmaspiritbond.png as she will be able to cassiopeiapetrifyinggaze.png you which might result in your death. However most 69.png have to start 3070.png or 3010.png because they eat so much mana. You may be able to get away with just shoving the lane and forcing her to burn mana last hitting.

Cho'Gath

Easy

Most 31.png try to farm passively and just outsustain you in lane. If you bother harassing him with karmaheavenlywave.png (which will be easy since he's melee) make sure you do more damage than he will heal back. Every time he goes to cs karmaheavenlywave.png + aa + aa + aa + karmaheavenlywave.pnguntil he's running back lolllll. Use karmasoulshield.png to avoid rupture.png or at least sponge some of its damage. You can max karmaspiritbond.png second since it's easy to use on him. Consider taking 21.png because if you slip up and get hit with rupture.png + feralscream.png + feast.png you could actually die.

Corki

Hard

This guy is really annoying, his phosphorusbomb.png + ggun.png does a surprising amount of damage and you will never be able to finish karmaspiritbond.png as he can just carpetbomb.png away. After 6 his missilebarrage.png basically becomes constant harass and its quite fast projectile so you might not be able to karmasoulshield.png them all. Also since his damage is half Ap and half AD it doesn't really matter which defensive item you rush 3191.png or 3028.png because he can just build in the other direction.

Diana

Easy

MELEE, which means you can karmaheavenlywave.png + aa all the way to level 6. Most 131.png will farm passively until level 6, and just throw some dianaQ.png at you which is kinda easy to dodge or at least block with karmasoulshield.png. She'll also use her dianaW.png to block your damage so bait it out before using karmaspiritbond.png + karmachakra.png + karmaheavenlywave.png. After 6, save karmachakra.png + karmaspiritbond.png for when she engages with dianaR.png so you can peel her off. I recommend buying 3001.png, without it she'll be able to burst you quickly or just jump back to you with dianaR.png if she landed the first dianaQ.png.

Ekko

Easy

AP 245.png is quite easy to harass and lane against. He's melee so do what you do best...punish dat boy. You shouldn't need karmasoulshield.png to dodge ekkoQ.png but you can. If he tries to engage with ekkoE.png + ekkoQ.png, make sure you respond with karmasoulshield.png + karmaspiritbond.png + karmachakra.png + karmaheavenlywave.png and laugh at him because he wont be trying that again. 14.png is helpful in this to help reduce the heal from ekkoR.png and 245.png is quite slippery so the D.O.T. damage might finish him off if he's escaping. Be cautious of when he suspiciously leaves lane as he's probably aiming a ekkoW.png at you. if you ever hear the sound of it or see him casting it, just back off completely with karmasoulshield.png. Don's underestimate his damage though, 245.png does more damage the weaker you are which is why its IMPERATIVE to dodge and karmasoulshield.png every ekkoQ.png.

VS

Fizz

Medium

He's Melee, make his life miserable until 6 with karmaheavenlywave.png. If he's playing passively go ahead and shove the lane so he's forced to use fizzjump.png as a farming tool - it has high mana cost and cd, but beware ganks. If he hasn't used fizzjump.png don't use karmaspiritbond.png or he will just evade the root and engage back on you with fizzpiercingstrike.png. After 6, save karmasoulshield.png + karmachakra.png + karmaspiritbond.png to survive fizzmarinerdoom.png + fizzjump.png + fizzseastonepassive.png + fizzpiercingstrike.png. May want to consider taking 21.png or buying 3001.png early. Like 245.png he does more damage the weaker you are so don't waste karmasoulshield.png.

VS

Galio

Medium

You have a very small window to get ahead of him. karmaheavenlywave.png has lower mana cost that galioresolutesmite.png and 3.png is very mana hungry. So you can try pushing him under tower to burn mana or zone him with constant harass. He'll naturally be building MR so if you wanna troll you can start 1055.png just for the auto harass. If both of you return with 3028.png on the first back, you lost - because he now effectively has more AP than you and tankier to boot. It's not a total nightmare as you can karmasoulshield.png  his galioresolutesmite.png and karmachakra.png + karmaspiritbond.png whenever you get low, but if you ever use karmaspiritbond.png he can use galiobulwark.png which will heal the both of you. Nobody dies in this lane, especially if you took 1.png ;)

VS

Heimerdinger

Medium

Most 74.png have the same strategy of rushing to lane so they can set up h28gevolutionturret.png. Meet him there and use karmachakra.png + karmaheavenlywave.png on him and the turret. It'll save you from being pushed in right away. You won't able to use karmaspiritbond.png without taking a lot of damage from h28gevolutionturret.png. So just farm and use the explosive trait of karmaheavenlywave.png to hit both his h28gevolutionturret.png and the minions.

Jayce

Medium
126.png is sort of like a mirror opposite version of 43.png. It may be hard to evade his shock blast as its quite fast and strong, but you might have time to karmasoulshield.png. Your empowered Q is just as strong as his empowered Q but his reaches farther and is faster, yet neither can bypass minions. If you ever try to karmaspiritbond.png he will just knock you back with jayceE.png. I would rush 3191.png because he does a lot of damage without it and most 126.png start with 3070.png. If he's in his hammer stance he has to wait a few seconds to switch back, this is your opportunity to harass him a little more than usual.

Karthus

Easy

He will be super passive and try to farm from a distance with laywaste.png. Basically he's weak when you're strong, go ahead and give him the old karmaheavenlywave.png + karmaspiritbond.png + karmachakra.png + karmaheavenlywave.png he can't stop you with anything but wallofpain.png and be careful not to take too much damage from defile.png. If he's just farming under tower take this time to roam. Consider getting 21.png instead of 14.png in case he has an annoying jungler like 64.png. That guy will gank you every time you step 1 foot out of tower range. In team fights use karmachakra.png + karmasoulshield.png to shield your whole team from fallenone.png. Bye Bye Karthus.

Katarina

Easy
55.png is super weak before 6 but elusive thanks to shadowstep.png, harass her as much as you can while being cautious of ganks. every jungler will try to get her fed. Don't let her roam and pick up kills, force her to farm under tower, and ping her MIA EVERY TIME you don't directly see her. After 6, she's not particularly a threat to you because you can survive deathlotus.png with karmasoulshield.png + karmachakra.png + karmaspiritbond.png if you haven't been getting poked to much. While laning, stand away from the minions so she has to decide between hitting you directly with bouncingblades.png or using it to farm the minions. If she decides to bouncingblades.png you go ahead and block it with karmasoulshield.png and laugh because she's going to be miss the next wave without it. In team fights use karmachakra.png + karmasoulshield.png on your team to deny her resets of anyone dying. Also don't waste karmaspiritbond.png or karmachakra.png+karmaheavenlywave.png if you know she still has shadowstep.png - you use mana, she doesn't.

LeBlanc

Medium

This is a very delicate lane, 7.png is very aggressive and would rather farm YOU instead of her creeps. Use karmaheavenlywave.png at max range try to hit her and creeps at the same time. You absolutely cannot waste karmachakra.png even before level 6, or that's a chance for her to leblancslide.png + leblancchaosorb.png + leblancsoulshackle.png and you will take a chunk of damage even if you karmasoulshield.png. Save karmaspiritbond.png for when she is using leblancsoulshackle.png because she'll then have to decide between finishing her root or getting hit by yours and karmachakra.png + karmaheavenlywave.png. GET 3001.png or 3027.png so you can live through leblancchaosorb.png + leblancmimic.png + leblancslide.png + leblancsoulshackle.png + leblancchaosorb.png or whatever crazy combo she's throwing out there. Her leblancmimic.png is free just like karmachakra.png.

VS

Lissandra

Medium

Use karmasoulshield.png to block lissandraQ.png and use karmaspiritbond.png at max range so that you're not in danger of getting counter rooted by lissandraW.png. If she's using lissandraE.png use karmasoulshield.png to speed you in another direction and fire karmachakra.png + karmaheavenlywave.png when she arrives. After 6 though there's not too much you can do about lissandraR.png other than staying out of its range or taking 1.png. Its a fairly even lane lissandraQ.png and karmaheavenlywave.png have similar cooldowns. Just be mindful of when her lissandraR.png is up.

VS

Lulu

Medium

Equally annoying mid laners. She has lulue.png to match your karmasoulshield.png and has luluq.png to match your karmaheavenlywave.png except hers can hit through creep. If you try to karmaspiritbond.png, she will luluw.png so you can't finish your burst properly and you'll probably take a lot of damage in the meantime. Try to land some max range karmaheavenlywave.png for harass and karmachakra.png + karmaheavenlywave.png. It's okay to use karmachakra.png freely because she won't be able to immediately finish you off if you waste it. After 6, you won't be able to kill her while lulur.png is up. Scare her into wasting it before you go alllll in.

Lux

Hard

her luxlightstrikekugel.png outranges karmaheavenlywave.png by a lot and if you ever try to karmaspiritbond.png her you're opening your face to a luxlightbinding.png + luxlightstrikekugel.png + luxmalicecannon.png. Depending on how the Lux plays there will be chances to kill her. If she's going aggressive and using her passive a long with luxlightstrikekugel.png you can tell she's kinda reckless. If she's close enough to use passive then she's close enough to get karmaspiritbond.png but make sure luxlightbinding.png is down. 99.png is quite squishy so your burst should take her below half. If she's going passive, use karmasoulshield.png to block luxlightstrikekugel.png. Consider taking 1.png  or 21.png in case you get hit by some luxy luxlightbinding.png.

VS

Malphite

Easy

So easy to harass and zone this guy, he will never be close enough to do much to you before 6. If he uses seismicshard.png on you just usekarmasoulshield.png it's so slow. You can use karmachakra.png freely. Just be sure to poke him every chance you get. After 6 if he uses ufslash.png just use karmasoulshield.png + karmachakra.png + karmaspiritbond.png and then its back to the old pokeroo. He also is quite mana hungry so you can force him to farm under tower as an alternative. Make him regret picking 54.png mid. 

VS

Malzahar

Hard

Stay away from this guy, even in the earlier level's he has confusing damage output. He pushes the wave faster than you and has mana sustain with alzaharmaleficvisions.png. If it gets on you, you can use karmasoulshield.png. He's easy to use karmaspiritbond.png on but if get alzaharcallofthevoid.png you're about to take a bunch of follow up damage so I don't recommend trying it since the wave will be pushing to you all the time. Only use karmaspiritbond.png if your jungler is helping especially after 6, because karmaspiritbond.png range is also alzaharnethergrasp.png range and not even 1.png can save you from that. Just farm at max range with karmaheavenlywave.png and wait for ganks.

Mordekaiser

Medium

His shield and sustain make it hard to really poke him down with karmaheavenlywave.png so don't even waste the mana unless his shield is low or not up. The good news is, he's melee so he'll just about never be in range to harass you back. It's basically a farm lane. You'll be more useful in team fights so that's fine, you can save the target of mordekaiserchildrenofthegrave.png with karmachakra.png + karmasoulshield.png. Don't get cocky and get close to him because he does a lot of damage with mordekaisermaceofspades.png. Consider taking 21.png in case he gets an mordekaiserchildrenofthegrave.png off on you.

Morgana

Hard

She can farm safely thanks to tormentedsoil.png and the sustain from her passive. She probably won't be hitting much darkbindingmissile.png on you but if she ever does, the follow up soulshackles.png might be your death. She can also use blackshield.png to block the root of your karmaspiritbond.png. I recommend just farming passively unless she misses darkbindingmissile.png then you can play a little more aggressively but you may never get a full burst off on her. If you ever get hit by darkbindingmissile.png use karmasoulshield.png to block the tormentedsoil.png damage. I listed this matchup as hard because even the most braindead of players can walk up to you soulshackles.png + darkbindingmissile.png + tormentedsoil.png and get a kill.

Orianna

Medium

Her abilities outrange yours quite a bit but they are a little more technical to use, just keep your eye on the ball. You can trade with her using max range karmaheavenlywave.png or if she just used orianaizunacommand.png + orianadissonancecommand.png on the wave. Don't trade auto's with her, just do a quick trade and back off. After 6, using karmaspiritbond.png will open you up toorianadetonatecommand.png so don't try it unless it's on CD.

Ryze

Medium

He's easy to harass early, and most 13.png run OOM so you can try to force him to spam abilities under tower. Stay out of runeprison.png range after 3 if you're not aware of how many stacks he has on his passive. If he ever uses desperatepower.png offensively just use karmachakra.png + karmaheavenlywave.png + karmasoulshield.png and run away, he should never be able to reach you without using 4.png and if he does you may just die. Consider taking 1.png.

VS

Swain

Hard

You're going to have to be more aggressive than usual against this guy if you want a lead. 50.png has horrible wave clear early so if you see him using swaintorment.png to farm, make him pay for it. Stay at max range using karmaheavenlywave.png because if he hits swainshadowgrasp.png it's going to hurt a lot. After 6 there is just no hope especially not with 14.png. Farm passive and ask for ganks as 50.png is super slow and gets kited easily. Consider buying 3285.png to help you stay out of his range. Use karmasoulshield.png to evade swainshadowgrasp.png

VS

Syndra

Hard

Her syndraQ.png harass is kinda hard to read. You should only trade with her if she's already used syndraE.png otherwise you'll take a chunk of damage trying to complete karmaspiritbond.png. After 6, her whole combo can kill you in one shot, so rush some defensive items like 3028.png. A 3157.png can help you dodge syndraR.png completely if you're fast. Also consider 21.png or 3285.png to help you dodge easier.

Talon

Medium

Not too much a threat here just be sure to use karmasoulshield.png whenever he uses talonrake.png. He also has horrible wave clear without it and he runs oom pretty easily if he's spamming it so try to angle karmaheavenlywave.png to hit both him and and the wave at once. After 3, keep karmachakra.png + karmaspiritbond.pngfor when he uses taloncutthroat.png, you'll not only survive the burst but you'll return more damage to him than he did to you. 91.png Can snowball quite easily like 55.png so be sure to MIA EVERY time you don't see him. If he gets slightly ahead past 6, he can probably kill you with entire combo taloncutthroat.png + talonrake.png + talonnoxiandiplomacy.png + talonshadowassault.png before your karmaspiritbond.png can finish. If you're gong even in cs, buy 3191.png as a defensive item.

VS

Twisted Fate

Easy

Not much threat here, just stay at max range until he uses pickacard.png. When he uses it engage with karmasoulshield.png + karmaspiritbond.png + karmachakra.png + karmaheavenlywave.png before it's back. Downside is he has mana sustain with pickacard.png and wildcards.png outranges karmaheavenlywave.png so he may just start clearing the wave on you. Consider taking 1.png in case he uses 4.png + pickacard.png or 12.png to keep up with destiny.png.

VS

Veigar

Medium

It's a fairly simple lane early, 45.png is super weak early and has to play passive to get veigarbalefulstrike.png built up. You can try to get ahead of him during this time be mindful of what items you buy as the more AP you have the more  veigarprimordialburst.png will hurt even if he misses veigarbalefulstrike.png and veigardarkmatter.png. Consider starting with 3028.png or 3001.png. You can even do 3211.png as 43.png has pretty constant damage and 45.png is all burst. Maybe consider 1.png or 21.png.

VS

Vel'Koz

Medium
161.png is entirely skill shot based and most of his abilities are easy to see so you have time to karmasoulshield.png before they hit - try to use it on his main harass velkozQ.png if you're having trouble dodging them. After 3, using karmaspiritbond.png will end up in you taking a chunk of damage from velkozE.png so don't use it unless he's already wasted it. Post 6, his entire combo can kill you easily even if he misses velkozW.png. Your only hope during velkozR.png is to 4.png behind him or 21.png. This lane comes down to how fast you are with karmasoulshield.png, max it second.

Viktor

Medium
112.png scales very well late, so you're going to have to try to get a good lead on him early but you have to be very alert as this is an aggressive lane. Most 112.png start with viktorpowertransfer.png so if he uses it on a minion, karmachakra.png + karmaheavenlywave.png him so he can't get close enough to use the 2nd half. Get and max karmasoulshield.png second to help block damage from viktordeathray.png. If you have been hitting him with a lot of karmaheavenlywave.png you can go for the kill at level 2 with 14.pngbecause he probably won't have viktorgravitonfield.png yet. After 3, it will be nearly impossible to use karmaspiritbond.png on him because of viktorgravitonfield.png. After 6 you have to be extra careful not to be in his range because viktorgravitonfield.png is hard to escape even with karmasoulshield.png and getting stunned by it might be the end of you. Playing passively won't really help either because after his first passive upgrade he can kill the whole minion wave with just viktordeathray.png so you'll get further and further behind on cs. Work with your jungler on this one. 

VS

Vladimir

Easy
8.png is super weak early, take every chance you have to karmaheavenlywave.png him, even if he uses vladimirtransfusion.png on you it has a long cd early. You can probably kill him at level 2 with karmaspiritbond.png  and 14.png because they both work on him during vladimirsanguinepool.png. If he uses vladimirsanguinepool.png it takes a chunk of hp and its  LONG cd so punish him for it. You may not even need to level karmasoulshield.png yet because it is very important to keep him behind. Rush a 3165.png or3001.png so you can keep killing him even after he buys 3145.png. If he's going even with you in cs or you haven't managed to kill him before he buys 3145.png, you lost lane. 

VS

Xerath

Hard

You will probably never be in range to get a good karmaheavenlywave.png on him. Straight from level 1, he will using xeratharcanopulse.png and xeratharcanopulse.png and xeratharcanopulse.png on you. Just play it cool, stand outside the minions, use karmasoulshield.png every time he harasses you. He will eventually get behind on cs because most 101.png prioritize harass over farming, and he will get further and further behind. Get 3028.png. Its okay to be bullied out of lane, just shove it and roam or take the time to back and heal up. I would consider 21.png for his xeratharcanebarragewrapper.png or 12.png

VS

Yasuo

Hard

Most good 157.png start with yasuoE.png which will make it hard to hit him with karmaheavenlywave.png. This is one of those lanes where you CANNOT waste karmachakra.png157.png is very fast paced, he will be using yasuoE.png in and out of the minions to hit you and farm at the same time, don't stand too close. I would focus on farming with karmaheavenlywave.png and if it hits him too, awesome. Auto attack him to break his shield when you can. I wouldn't use karmachakra.png + karmaheavenlywave.png over karmachakra.png + karmaspiritbond.png as he can easily block it with yasuoW.png. This lane just gets harder and harder because he'll have a lot of sustain and you'll burn your mana trying to keep up with his clearing and harass him equally. Ask for help, you can easily lock him down with karmaspiritbond.png during a gank. Consider 3191.png , 3.png or 21.png if you're not used to him yet. 

VS

Zed

Easy

Harass him every chance you get with auto attacks and karmaheavenlywave.png before 3, and be sure to dodge his zedQ.png. After 3, use karmasoulshield.png to block his zedW.png + zedQ.png + zedE.png combo it's pretty noticeable when he's planning to use it. Don't get ahead of his shadows as he can just swap to it and get some auto's off on you. You can try to force him under tower if they don't have an annoying jungler. MUST have 3157.png as first item. Don't waste mana on karmaheavenlywave.png if they aren't hitting, you use mana - he doesn't. After 6, save karmachakra.png + karmaspiritbond.pngfor zedR.png and you'll most likely live through it combined with karmasoulshield.png. Don't try to use karmaspiritbond.png on him unless he's already used zedW.png. Try 3.png or 21.png if you need it.

VS

Ziggs

Medium

Same situation as 101.png, you will probably never be in range to use any ability directly on him so just farm safe and use karmasoulshield.png whenever he uses ziggsq.png he may just run oom trying to harass you then you can go aggressive. Save karmachakra.png + karmasoulshield.png for team fights when he uses ziggsr.png. Consider 21.png or 12.png.

Pro's

  • Very safe mid laner. Even if you get behind you can just be a second support for the adc later
  • Is strong early and can stomp a lot of mid laners
  • Can spam abilities with fairly low cd's and mana costs
  • Is very versatile, can go with a lot of different builds and still do well
  • Good/Strong poke and shield

Con's

  • Primary damage is a skill shot that does not pass through minions
  • Fairly low range
  • Is not a hard carry, so if you're team isn't doing well it's hard to make do
  • Is fast paced, can easily misuse ultimate in wrong situation
  • Does not have that hard cc compared to other mid laners
  • Slow burst that gives enemy time to respond


When To Use Karma Back to Top

43.png is a very safe pick but can be dull compared to other mids like 112.png or 61.png when the team fights roll around. Utility mids are very nice to have if your team already has a hyper carry (11.png ,96.png67.png114.png) then you can just use your abilities to weaken the enemy and keep your carry alive. Otherwise you'll be doing a lot of poke damage but never finishing them off.

Do not use karma if your teams needs a strong dominant mid laner (55.png) In team fights 43.png is very defensive with her roots, slows, and karmachakra.png + karmasoulshield.png. It's very hard for 43.png to burst an enemy carry in team fights as karmaspiritbond.png is very noticeable and takes time to complete, they will immediately target you if you try it. Furthermore, do not use 43.png if your team has no engage. It's not standard for the mid to engage but adding karma to a no engage team isn't particularly helpful, she thrives upon having a good frontline to shield + speed up while she slows and roots. She has nearly no engage potential at all in team fights unlike 1.png , 3.png

Do use karma if your team lacks a strong poke component and someone to stick with the adc while the support engages (89.png). Do use karma if the enemy has chosen a weak early mid laner who needs to be completely shut down 8.png,84.png,30.png
