4.png Flash is a must for every midlaner, it's without any doubt the best summoner spell in League of Legends. It allows you to escape countless situations and also make incredible plays. Please take it.

3.png vs 12.png vs 1.png


3.png Exhaust is just one of the best dueling summoner spells for midlane, especially for 30.png. You'll want to be in the middle of a fight, and that will put you in range to exhaust the right targets. Additionally, 3.png has a huge slow, giving you the chance to hit all your karthuslaywastea1.png. Finally, against assassin-type champions, 3.png truly excels, giving you some sort of an advantage when they engage you. I recommend taking this summoner.

12.pngTeleport is something that we've seen being used very frequently by the pro players at Worlds. This summoner will make up for your lack of mobility, giving you the chance to farm up and then teleport to where the fight is happening. Great summoner indeed, but I don't recommend taking it against assassin-type champions.

1.png Cleanse should be used when you play against champions that rely a lot on their cc. e.g (45.png).

Those are the runes/masteries I'm using, I found them to be pretty good so far. Since they were recently implemented, it still needs more testing, and there might be better ways to build it.

Why Sorcery as the main path?

  • Summon%20Aerie.png?width=64is extremely good due to its insane poke and low cooldown. This rune will give you the chance to annoy your enemies and also send them to base earlier. It also can guarantee you a kill when you use your karthusfallenone.png. Everytime Summon%20Aerie.png?width=32 return to you, you can go ahead and poke. Arcane%20Comet.png?width=32 is also a viable option, exactly due to the same reasons I stated above, but I just believe Summon%20Aerie.png?width=32 performs better overall. Phase%20Rush.png?width=32 won't be of any use for you, stay away from it.
  • The%20Ultimate%20Hat.png?width=64 is a gift for you. As 30.png you want to reduce your ultimate's  cooldown at all costs, and this rune will give you in total 10% CDR on your karthusfallenone.png. Good isn't it? Manaflow%20Band.png?width=32 feels kinda useless for me, you'll me spamming karthuslaywastea1.png most of the times, your CD is very low, and when you kill a minion, it refunds you some mana. For those reasons, I believe Manaflow%20Band.png?width=32 isn't useful. Nullifying%20Orb.png?width=32 can be helpful against burst AP champions, but still, the most viable option will still be The%20Ultimate%20Hat.png?width=32.

  • Transcendence.png?width=64 seems really perfect for you, giving you 10% CDR at level 10. In conjunction with  The%20Ultimate%20Hat.png?width=32, your ultimate's cooldown will be quite low when compared to its initial. Celerity.png?width=32 will give you some boost on your AP, but I don't think it can be a better choice than Transcendence.png?width=32, as the amount of AP it gives you, isn't that much. Absolute%20Focus.png?width=32won't be the most useful rune for you, it kinda goes against your passive, as with this rune you'll do more damage when above 70%.

  • Scorch.png?width=64 is perfect to help you poking your enemy down, together with Arcane%20Comet.png?width=32, you'll deal a great amount of damage. Waterwalking.png?width=32 won't be the best choice, as you lack mobility and won't be roaming that much. Gathering%20Storm.png?width=32 will always be the best choice if the game reaches a pathetic amount of time like 60 minutes. As those games are just 1% of your total, I still recommend going with Scorch.png?width=32.

    Why Precision as the secondary path?

  • Presence%20of%20Mind.png?width=64 is especially good on 30.png, refunding 10% of your ultimate's cooldown and restore 20% of your maximum mana. when you get a takedown. As you might get a bunch with your R, this rune will definitely outperform the other choices.

  • Last%20Stand.png?width=64 is another strange choice, but it really makes sense. This rune will take the most out of your passive, giving you 12% increased damage when you're "dead".

    Neglected Precision runes

  • Overheal.png?width=32 won't be of any use for you, just don't even consider it.

  • Triumph.png?width=32 is a great choice, it'll give you a lot of health back and also some additional gold when you get a takedown, definitely a good one. If you opt to take it, replace Presence%20of%20Mind.png?width=32.

  • Legend%20Alacrity.png?width=32 won't be of any use for you, just don't even consider it.

  • Legend%20Tenacity.png?width=32 won't be of any use for you, just don't even consider it.

  • Legend%20Bloodline.png?width=32 won't be of any use for you, just don't even consider it.

  • Coup%20De%20Grace.png?width=32 can be a really good choice, giving you a little more damage against targets below 40%. 

  • Cut%20Down.png?width=32 can be useful, but won't be as good as the other 2 options, don't think too much about it.

  • Really unique passive that allows you to be an annoyance for your enemies, even when you're dead!

  • You'll take a lot out of Last%20Stand.png?width=32 with it. You'll be at 0% HP, at that'll give you +12% increased damage. Isn't it great?

  • If you die, try to die in the middle of everyone if possible, in order to maximise your damage.

  • You only have 7 seconds, if you need to use your ultimate, don't forget that it'll take 3 seconds to channel.

  • This will be your main damage and the ability you'll max first.

  • When farming, try hitting on a single minion instead of placing it in the middle of the minion wave. This will allow you to farm better since you'll do more damage and save some precious mana points. 

  • Using your karthuswallofpain.png on an enemy can secure just enough karthuslaywastea1.png's for a kill.

  • The naming couldn't be more appropriate, it truly is a wall of pain. It reduces your enemies defenses and slows them to death. Not to talk that its range is huge.

  • Excellent team fight initiation. It'll make sure your team hits all their combos. 

  •  Make sure to hit karthuswallofpain.png and then karthuslaywastea1.png them to death!

  • Extremely good skill to restore some mana when farming.

  • In the middle of a fight, your opponents might get confused on how you're doing so much damage, especially if you're dead! That due to Last%20Stand.png?width=32.

  • Using 3157.png won't toggle off karthusdefile.png.

  • Keep it on while dead! Just by getting an assist, kill or leveling up, the mana you spend in the next 7 seconds will be fully restored. Funny, it matches your passive time!

  • This ultimate is 30.png in a nutshell!

  • Perfect to kill those low health enemies trying to escape full of hope.

  • Pisses off the enemy team like no other ultimate.

  • Don't channel it in front of your enemy, it takes 3 seconds and it'll be easy to cancel. You should always go behind your turret to channel it unless you know everyone's positions.

Starting Items

    Solid start.
    This is more of an unconventional start. If you feel your skill is well above of your opponents, I would recommend it.

Core Items

    If you're farming well and no deaths so far, I would recommend going for Dark Seal on your first back. But if you have enough money for Tear take it instead.
    Your core should look very similar to this.
    Your final build should look quite similar to this one. Adjustments should be made according to the enemy team.

Situational Items

    I should only get this item when you see that your enemy is stacking some MR. If you don't spot that, there might be better options.
    If you're winning and farming well at the beginning, this item can be a great addition.
    Whenever you play against AD assassin-type champions, you should get this item asap.
    If the other team if fully of tanky champions, Liandry's can be a blessing!
    If you need some more tankyness and extra CC, Rylai's can be a great option against champions like FIzz.
    Very good item against AP champions like Veigar/Fizz.

Build Path

  • Start with 1056.png+2003.png+3340.png. I believe this will be the best start, considering your long karthuslaywastea1.png range, you should be able to farm safely while occasionally poking your enemy. In case you're playing out of your true ranking, or if you are really confident with 30.png1082.png can be a great item to start.

  • On your first back, you should aim to at least get a 3070.png, a 2031.png and a 2055.png if possible. In case you have enough money, getting 1082.png+1001.png would be great. In the best case scenario, you want 3070.png+3010.png+2055.png.

  • Upgrade your 3010.png to 3027.png as soon as possible and also you should aim to upgrade your boots to 3020.png. Your core should look like 3020.png3027.png3070.png and maybe 1082.png.

  • You should aim than to upgrade your 3070.png to 3003.png and start building 3089.png as soon as possible. But that can change according to the enemy team composition. If they are quite tanky, aim for 3151.png first. I very good option that I didn't mention above is 3165.png, it gives you a 20% CDR, can be the perfect choice if they have a lot of healing effects.

  • As 30.png, getting a 3157.png will always be a good choice, it'll boost your damage in the middle of a fight and disrupt their team's focus. This item will be a great addition, but you have to be very analytical to know when to build it.

  • Your last item is the most situational, you'll in most cases go for a 3135.png, but like I said, analyze their team and make a choice based on what you can see. If they don't stack any MR, there are better options like 3116.png.

  • Stay behind minions early game to not get charmed
  • Make sure to dodge her ahriorbofdeception.png's, they do a lot of damage.
  • Try to keep the lane in the middle to avoid any ganks, remember, you don't have any escape.
  • After 6, be extremely careful, she'll try to organize a play to send you to base faster, if you know what I mean.
  • Keep side bushes warded, 103.png is a very good champion to roam with.
  • If she rushes at you, be sure to use 3.png properly and most important is to dodge her deadly ahriseduce.png.
  • Important to play passive once she's level 6+ and if she ults towards you dodge her charm!

Anivia

Medium
  • This lane will be about who farms better.
  • Keep the lane equal, pushing too much can be your sentence to death.
  • Be extremely careful with your position, her crystallize.png+flashfrost.png combo is really strong.
  • After 6, don't even think about fighting her, you might lose unless your jungler is a good guy and helps you out.

VS

Annie

Medium
  • You can safely farm with your long range.
  • Be careful when she has her stun ready or about to be, she might be planning to call her jungler.
  • After 6, you need to be really fast with 3.png to avoid her full damage.
  • You know that any 1.png that hits 6 vs you will try to go all-in. A smart way is to call your jungler and tell him to stay nearby. She'll definitely be greedy!

Aurelion Sol

Easy
  • Keep wards on side bushes, knowing where he's going to roam is key.
  • Punish him by pushing as much as you can.
  • He's not a good farmer under turret.
  • If he's not roaming, he's planning to catch you with a gank, tell your jungler to stay nearby.

VS

Azir

Hard
  • Farm as far as you can and don't mind losing some minions.
  • He outranges you. Every time you try to farm he'll be there to punish you.
  • The trick here is to stay quite far, you can farm well under your turret.

Cassiopeia

Medium
  • You can farm safely with your range.
  • Make sure you dodge her cassiopeiaq.png.
  • If she tries to cassiopeiar.png, make sure to turn your back to her.
  • Sometimes she camps in a brush expecting someone to face check, don't let it be you.
  • Just keep farming and out scale her.

Corki

Easy
  • You can safely farm and poke him with karthuslaywastea1.png.
  • Make sure you dodge his phosphorusbomb.png.
  • If he starts getting to close, he might be planning to use carpetbomb.png to assist his jungler, be careful. If that happens just use karthuswallofpain.png.

VS

Fizz

Hard
  • You beat him pre 6, try to farm and poke him hard early.
  • If he wastes fizze.png to close the gap to you, instantly use 3.png and punish him. 
  • After 6, like 1.png, he'll try a funny play, you might want to call your jungler to stay close by and punish 105.png for his insolence.

VS

Kassadin

Medium
  • He might play a passive lane until 6.
  • Pushing your lane can be a great way to deny him some minions, but you need very good awareness. Keeping your jungler close is a great way to safely punish 38.png's early game-
  • After 6, make sure you have a good vision on the map, as he can roam very easily.
  • He might try to go for you, but if you have 3.png, he can't burst you down.
  • He's very annoying to play against, you should tell your jungler to be nearby when 38.png hits 6, he'll definitely try something.

VS

Katarina

Hard
  • Her mobility will be very hard to deal with. She can close the gap between you two easily and also dodge your skills. 
  • As you can't stop her katarinar.png, make sure you 3.png her.
  • You'll have to play very passively, farming is the key.
  • If you can, keep the distance even if you miss a few minions.

VS

LeBlanc

Hard
  • She can dodge your karthuslaywastea1.png and escape from your karthuswallofpain.png very easily. 
  • She can close the gap between you two and take you down.
  • Try to dodge her leblance.png.
  • Going for an early 3102.png might be a good idea.

VS

Lissandra

Medium
  • Should be fairly easy for you to farm.
  • Make sure to keep your distance, she can come really close with lissandrae.png.
  • Aim karthuswallofpain.png to where her lissandrae.png is.
  • Keep in mind that you'll get camped. Don't push and farm with an even lane or pushed to your side.

Lucian

Hard
  • Farm and poke him early.
  • He can get out of your karthuswallofpain.png easily with his luciane.png.
  • He's also able to close the gap with you with luciane.png and go all-in. Make sure to 3.png him if that happens.
  • Pay attention to his lucianq.png, stay in paths where he can't land it through the minions.

VS

Lux

Medium
  • You should farm easily.
  • Dodging her skill shots is the key to win this matchup.
  • She has no escape, just like you. Calling your jungler when she pushes the lane can be a great way to punish her, your karthuswallofpain.png will be easy to land. 

VS

Malzahar

Medium
  • It'll be very hard for you to out push him.
  • Make sure to hit him at least once to take his passive out and make things easier to your jungler.
  • Scare him from time to time with karthuswallofpain.png, in order for you to farm better and to not lose so many minions at your turret.
  • After 6, he might try something, keep your distance, if he uses 4.png+malzaharr.png, make sure to 3.png him.

VS

Orianna

Medium
  • You should be able to safely farm.
  • Use your karthuswallofpain.png sometimes to scare her and hit some karthuslaywastea1.png.
  • Beware of her poke, she also has a huge range.
  • This will be a farm lane most likely.

VS

Talon

Hard
  • Pre 6 is when you need to show him dominance and poke him hard.
  • Keep distance from his talonw.png.
  • When he hits 6, he'll try to go on you, make sure to 3.png him properly. Calling your jungler can be also a great idea. 
  • Keep a good map awareness, he's a champion that likes to roam a lot.

Twisted Fate

Medium
  • You should be able to farm safely.
  • Make sure to keep your side brushes warded, to spot him whenever he wants to use his destiny.png.
  • Make a plan with your jungler to punish him, he has no escape.
  • If junglers do not interfere, this should be a farm lane. Skill will dictate who wins.

Veigar

Medium
  • He's an anti-mage due to his abusive veigarr.png.
  • Farm and keep your distance to avoid his veigareventhorizon.png.
  • After 6, the best advice once again is to keep your distance. 1.png will be key if he tries something, it might keep you alive for the next round.

Vel'Koz

Medium
  • This might be a farm lane, he has no gap closer.
  • Be sure to dodge his velkozq.png, if he hits you, he might be able to hit the rest of his combo, meaning you might be pretty dead.
  • Calling your jungler might be a smart way to deny 161.png, since he has no escape and can be easily killed.
  • Be careful with his velkozr.png, the damage is out of this world.

Viktor

Medium
  • Farm and poke him early, but always keeping your distance, you don't want to get hit by viktorpowertransfer.png+viktordeathray.png.
  • Try calling your jungler to make a play with you, 112.png has no escape and can be quite easy to kill early on.
  • Beware of his extreme burst after 6.

VS

Vladimir

Medium
  • You should be able to play safe and farm.
  • Poke him occasionally.
  • You can try pushing the lane if you have everything warded.
  • Going for 3165.png can be a good way to deny his healing abilities.
  • Keep in mind that he can dodge your karthusfallenone.png with vladimirsanguinepool.png.

VS

Xerath

Hard
  • He outranges you.
  • Try farming and dodging his abilities.
  • If he's going too aggressive, you'll need your jungler to punish him.
  • Try using karthuswallofpain.png+karthuslaywastea1.png to keep him in his place if you see him out of position.

VS

Yasuo

Hard
  • Very hard to play against due to his insane mobility.
  • Try keeping your distance, he can gap close if you have your minions close to you.
  • Farming under turret can be a good way for you to survive and to allow your jungler to act and punish the disrespectful 157.png.
  • Dodging his tornado after 6 is a must. if you can't, I believe 3.png can save you sometimes.

VS

Zed

Hard
  • Farm safely and keep your distance early on.
  • You can try to poke him occasionally with karthuslaywastea1.png if he mispositions.
  • When he hits 6 he'll try something on you, but I believe that he can't kill you if you 3.png him fast enough.
  • Try going for a 3157.png early on.

VS

Zoe

Medium
  • Farm and poke her early, always keeping your distance.
  • She has no escape, if she starts pushing, invite your jungler to come and punish her.
  • Play behind your minions to avoid her zoee.png.
  • If she comes forward with zoer.png, place your karthuswallofpain.png on her initial position.

Early Game

  • Your main goal is to farm safely, keep that in mind.

  • Try to not push your lane too much to avoid any ganks, 30.png is very susceptible to early ganks.

  • Occasionally use your karthuswallofpain.png and some karthuslaywastea1.png to poke down your enemy.

  • Make sure you keep your side brushes warded, you don't want to die too early.

  • You can push your enemy to his turret if you arrange with your jungler for a counter gank.

  • I'll reinforce the idea, farming is key for you, make sure you farm well by last hitting with your karthuslaywastea1.png.

    Mid Game

  • When you destroy your enemies turret or get yours destroyed, laning phase will be over. You should ask yourself some questions. Is Dragon available? What about Herald? If you lose your turret, make sure to ward around that area to keep the vision.

  • Let's say you got your enemies turret and you're ahead, if Dragon is available, try to set up a play with your jungler in order to secure the objective. If you succeed, start getting some deep wards in their jungle to know every move they make. Push mid lane and farm your jungle, if you see their mid laner roaming, maybe you can follow. Push or follow, it'll be up to you to evaluate the situation.

  • At this point in the game, you should be really farmed and teaming up can be a great choice.

    Late Game

  • This is where you'll shine the most, 30.png is all about late game, one of the best AP carries as I'll show the statistics below.

  • Most important here is, keep up with the vision and don't overextend farming.

  • Grouping is very important and keeping an eye on objectives.

  • Keep in mind that you can use your karthusfallenone.png to initiate a fight. If you're ahead for quite a bit, it'll do massive damage, and might allow them to fall back, ensuring baron for your team.

  • In conclusion, late game is your best stage of the game, 30.png is extremely good at this stage, you'll be at your best. As long as you don't overextend you should be fine. Stick with your team in order to take objectives and be prepared for teamfights.

Pro Mindset

The most successful players all have one thing in common, either they win or lose, they always think "what could have I done better?". This is the key for you to become closer to the greatest players, it's not about how many games you play in a day, it's about what you learn from each of them.

Tiltproof

The easiest thing to do when you are losing a game is to blame your team, even if you're right, that won't give any help on winning the game. If you really want to get to the next level, try to keep cool and boost our teammate's morale.

Winning Attitude

Everyone is fed in the other team, your team is far behind and the easiest thing to do here is surrender. You might argue that it'll save you a lot of time and playing would be a waste. Yes, you're right, but some of those games you'll actually win, and you'll learn much more from hard games than from easy games that finish at 15min. Just keep focus and don't stop believing. Everyone throws, even the pros.

Think about this:

If you're one of those players stuck in Silver, you feel like you deserve much more, but you are just unlucky and can't climb, it feels like a curse that Riot put on you. I will tell you straight away there's no such thing, and yes, sometimes we can be very unlucky, but it doesn't last. If you're stuck there, you might've been doing something wrong, the proof is that people boost accounts and they know exactly what to do in order to carry a game and climb quickly. If you find yourself in that situation, I suggest watching some of your own replays, maybe your mechanics are good but it only takes a few mistakes for you to not be able to carry your team. Start thinking, what could have you done better? The other team is silver too, if you're much better you should be able to outplay them in every way possible.

What is being "In The Zone"?

  • It's a state of mind where you become extremely focused and hyper-productive!

  • Being in the zone is being completely immersed in what you're doing. Losing the sense of time is very common while in this state of mind.

  • You'll be able to predict your opponents movements and see them almost like in slow motion!

  • Think about what you're doing and your role.

  • Get rid of distractions. (Close the door if open. Being in a conversation will most likely stop you from entering this state as you'll get distracted easily).

  • You need a deep understanding of what you're doing. (Once again, know your role and your opponent as well).
  • Create a balance between challenge and skill. Big challenges require huge skill. Taking a step bigger than your leg will only get you demotivated. (Yes, this one is for boosted accounts.)

  • Be patient, it might take some time to achieve and master this state of mind.

  • Now that you know about it, you just made it easier.
