Summoner Spells Back to Top

You should almost always take  4.png and 7.png , but if you have a healer support like Soraka then you COULD take 14.png since you have sustain with the support and your kindredW.png.

I like heal better, though.

Masteries Back to Top

You might think these masteries look a little weird, but bear with me.

Ferocity Tree

Tier 1: Frenzy is the obvious choice here because it gives attack speed versus the AP sorcery gives.

Tier 2:
Double Edged Sword is really only good if you're a burst mage or melee. Even though as Kindred you do end up bursting people, you still don't want the extra damage taken since it'd make you unnecessarily fragile.

Tier 3: Since Kindred has absolutely NO ability power scaling, natural talent doesn't benefit them as much as flat life steal early game.

Tier 4: Kindred's passive is to mark an enemy champion for death. When she kills that champion, she'll gain bonus attack damage based on enemy %current health. Since you'll be doing a lot of roaming for these marks anyway, you want to take the Bounty Hunter passive. Just after 3 kills it's better than oppressor, and if you manage to get the 5% bonus damage then you'll be doing a lot.

Cunning Tree

Tier 1: As an ADC you won't be out of combat very often, so this is an obvious choice.

Tier 2: I like Secret Stash as it helps with sustain and I feel like it adds more than the other two for an ADC who won't be getting red buff until late game. Assassin isn't really a consideration for and ADC as most of the game you'll be with your support / your team.

Tier 3: You're not a tank. The only option here is Merciless.

Tier 4: Bandit might seem good, but you don't need it since optimally you'll be CSing well. Dangerous Game is extremely powerful for teamfights as well.

Tier 5: Here's where you'd expect us to be in the Ferocity tree, like most people are, but no. The armor penetration here is already better than Ferocity's when you hit level 5 in game, and you won't really be needing it before then.

Tier 6: Thunderlord's Decree is EXTREMELY powerful and will allow you to deal some pretty good damage even at level 1-6 and will have amazing damage late game. I was skeptical at first about trying it, but when they buffed it I felt like I had to. I encourage anyone reading this to try it, too.

Ability Pathing

You should always go Q first as it serves the purpose of getting out of danger, dealing damage, and kiting.

If you plan on bursting the enemy down early, then you should go for E second for the combo (which I'll explain later) but if you are low on health at level 2 or feel like you need the sustain (or even most of the time, if you want to) go W. I tend to go E only because I almost always go for first blood / an early kill.

Your ultimate should be leveled up at 6, 11, and 16, of course.

Your ability maxing should be like this: R > Q > E > W. Maxing W isn't a good idea since the health you gain back scales with level, not rank. Q starts doing a lot of damage early on if you max it first, and E isn't a good option either as the slow is always 70%. Max E second since it does increase the damage it deals.

Ability Usage

A basic combo you'll want to learn is Q-ing into the enemy, E-ing them, then W-ing and spamming Q to chase them / deal damage to them. With Thunderlord's Decree this combo will do a lot of damage and, if your lane opponent isn't prepared, possibly get you first blood (not many people expect Kindred to burst them).

You always want to do that combo in the order I put it in since it'll make the shortest time of your Q cooldown.

If you mess up and Q  but aren't in range of the enemy to E them, then you could do something like this: Q > W > Q > Q > E (or however many q's it takes). Be sure that your Q is ON a cooldown greater than 2 seconds when you W.

Ultimate Ability

Your ultimate should be used whenever it can save a heavy damage-dealer, a support that's contributing to teamfights, or whenever you're in a teamfight and someone might die. Be careful with your ult since it can save the enemy if you use it wrong. You'll need to learn to judge if when the ult ends you or the enemy will win the upcoming fight.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Kindred's Q  can wall hop. How does this relate to your ult, you ask? Well, if you're about to die but see a wall you can hop over to escape, and your ult would give you enough time to get your Q off cooldown, or get to where you need to be, then use it! Your ult should be used whenever it gives you an advantage, and as the ADC, you don't want to die.

When using the tip I provided above, be sure to use W if your Q's on cooldown for more than 2 seconds.

DON'T BE AFRAID TO DIVE PEOPLE WITH YOUR ULT IF YOU SEE AN OPPORTUNITY.

Starting Items

Core Items

Situational Items

I'd recommend always starting with Doran's Blade since I feel like you need the sustain and health.

The core items in this build are 3094.png and 3006.png. Once you get both of those, you'll get a big powerspike depending on how early you get them. After those two items you'll have pretty good attack speed, energized attacks, and some critical strike. Now you need to build some damage / lifesteal.  3812.png and 3508.png do the job nicely as they give you a lot of attack damage, 40% cooldown reduction which is really helpful since Kindred needs to use their abilties a lot, and another 20% critical strike chance. The passive's on these items are also very beneficiary to Kindred as they:

1. Enhance her Q to restore 12% of the damage dealt.
2. Make her take less immediate damage and instead have it dealt to her over time (12%).
3. Make critical strikes restore 3% of her maximum mana pool (again, Kindred is an ability caster so mana regen helps a lot).

Next you'll want to get some more attack speed and damage with 3046.png and 3031.png. This'll get you to 100% critical strike chance and make you deal massive damage with your high attack speed.

Instead of Infinity Edge you could get either a 3071.png or 3036.png if the enemy team is tanky. Black Cleaver is better for foes with a lot of armor while Lord Dominik's Regards is better for tanks with a lot of health.

If you decide to get one of the two tank killing items, don't wait until the last minute to get them. Start building into them as soon as you start having trouble killing people (for the right reasons, of course).

VS

Caitlyn

Easy

This is a fairly easy matchup since even though she outranges you, she doesn't have much disengage/engage while you have a lot. Make sure to keep her at close range and dodge her caitlynpiltoverpeacemaker.pngs.

VS

Kalista

Easy

This matchup is pretty easy since you don't have any skillshots and you can catch up to her with your q + w combo, so her kiting ability is rendered fairly useless.

VS

Tristana

Medium

This matchup might give you some trouble as whenever you kindredE.png she can rocketjump.png to safety.
With a kindredW.png and some kindredQ.png's you can catch up, though.
