Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png Flash: RUN THIS SPELL. Literally shouldn't require an explanation as to why.

12.pngTeleport: Standard top lane summoner spell. Has just as many uses as flash if not more.

3.pngExhaust: This one turns bad match-ups into better ones, and it turns good match-ups into near guaranteed wins

6.pngGhost: Unnecessary, but still very fun. You do you :D

14.png Against obnoxious healing champs. Vlad, Mundo, Swain etc.

New Runes Back to Top

Masteries Back to Top

Fervor set: Kled can stack all stacks of fervor of battle very, and I mean, VERY easily. In fact, most of his damage will come from the combination of his Auto attacks and his Q ability.

Grasp set: For the tankier and more boring build. I refuse to teach you how to play this champ and be bored/boring.

undefined.png I cant stress enough just how much damage this ability does. With levels and items, this ability has a very short CD and insane damage. It is also your main source of damage and trade potential in lane. Your opponent either runs when hit with this ability, or they take unnecessary damage and risk a very devastating early all-in. Decent wave clear with this spell, 1 or 2 of them should suffice in clearing the wave. ALWAYS MAX FIRST, NO MORE QUESTIONS!

undefined.png His other source of crazy damage. Be careful with this spell, just spamming it in lane early on is a green light for the enemy top laner to initiate a trade and unless they miss everything and you land your undefined.png ,you will lose. Always max second. No Exceptions.

undefined.png Very handy ability and deceptively powerful if used correctly. This spell deals very minimal damage but its not the damage that makes it good. The ability to use it TWICE is what is very nice, and on a gap closing ability that's a godsend for a melee champion. First cast CANNOT go through walls(BS btw) and it provides a brief movement speed boost if the initial cast hits an enemy champion. If the first cast hits an enemy champion the ability WILL go through walls and it WILL follow their flash. Makes landing undefined.png and undefined.png much easier. Applies 1 stack of fervor of battle for each use. 1 point wonder, always max last. No exceptions.

undefined.png CHAAAAAAAAAAAAARGE!!!! Go man mode, kill them trespassers, and get comments like "Omg broken champ" all at the same time :D. This is what makes Kled, Kled. VERY VERY VERY fun ultimate to use however, don't be fooled with the damage and shield strength, the shield doesn't last long at all and the damage is the same to everyone. Cooldown is not short by any stretch of the word so use wisely. This spell is also not the easiest ability to land on a champ so predition is key, and be careful when activating, once you get going there is no turning back, in fact you cant even PING when using this. so let your team know BEFORE hand when your going to run them over so they can give you backup. Rank this up any chance you get.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Great items on Kled. Take Blade for medium or easy lanes. early sustain from blade and masteries is also nice. Shield against hard match-ups and against the ignite cheese I've been seeing lately.

Core Items

GET THIS, GET THIS, GET THIS. It looks super troll but its actually really strong. The Attack damage and armor pen makes this a must have. The active and CDR is just icing on the murder cake. Love this item to death and I cant stress it enough.
Also core. Gives everything a bruiser needs. Also has amazing synergy when paired with ghostblade. Get this every game either first or second.
Other damage alternatives: Titanic: gives waveclear Steraks/Maw: Survivability when unmounted as well as decent combat stats.
I personally dont like these items but kled makes exceptionally good use of these. Spirit visage passive makes you remount Skaarl with 25% more HP, so keep that in mind.
Oh the choices, pick boots accordingly with your needs.
My usual full build in order of purchase: Ghostblade, Cleaver, Deaths Dance, Steraks, Guardian angel, and Ninja Tabi for boots.

Situational Items

I hate tank items with a passion, but if you need one so bad then this one is never a bad choice.

VS

Darius

Hard

This one is another tricky one. Darius has some insane damage and even an execution ability which can put a stop to Skaarl ever coming back. That said you do have a few tricks to deal with him. dariuscleave.png is a skill that has a brief delay, and its in that delay that you have to make the choice whether to kledE.png away or go full man mode and kledE.png into him so the blade doesn't strike you. dariuscleave.png is Darius's main damage and if you can dodge it you will have a very small window to punish him for misusing the ability. simply kledQ.png and kledW.png , unless he has a huge minion wave helping him, you SHOULD come out on top. You HAVE to kill Darius pre-6 to get the lead on him The bad part is that there will be a point where he can heal tank you with dariuscleave.png and just win because you wont have the damage to kill him and if he unmounts you with 6 stacks of hemorrhage or even early in lane, its over. he's going to either force 4.png or result in your untimely demise.

VS

Ekko

Medium

This match up goes just like the Yasuo one, only 1 problem. The tank + Triforce build will eventually outscale your damage build. So giving him an early lead will spell doom for your lane. Dodge ekkoW.png ekkoQ.png and try and counter shove with kledQ.png

Take 12.png and just rely on your engages and damage to try and be more useful than him

VS

Fiora

Medium

This one is a tricky one. Fiora tends to want to just hit your vitals with her fioraq.png in lane. DO NOT LET HER DO THIS. She can also parry the second part of kledQ.png's damage and this will trigger her fiorariposte.png to stun you but the fiorariposte.png can be dodged. If she casts fioradance.png, run. The combination of % max health true damage and the heal will make this a losing battle. This lane is incredibly snowbally so DO NOT DIE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES OR ELSE SHE WILL PUT YOU IN THE DIRT!! Likewise you can do the same to her.

Take 12.png and try your best to farm. Look for an opportunity and/or just wait for jungler.

VS

Gangplank

Easy

This one is a fun one. The Pirate will try to zone you withraisemorale.png and poke you with parley.png but, by doing this he opens himself to getting hit with kledE.png and you making him regret messing with 240.png. Your damage is much higher than his early on so and even if he removescurvy.png and 4.png you can still chase him down. Ask your jungler to gank and dive him once you have kledR.png, Just be careful of the counter gank by their jungler. Take 12.png to pressure him.

VS

Gnar

Medium

4 Words: DON'T LET HIM KITE!! When hes little then that is your chance to put the hurt on him. Avoid getting hit by gnarQ.png and gnarW.png as much as possible. At level 3 you can kledE.png in and usekledQ.pngkledW.png to teach him a lesson but if he uses gnarE.png then back off, unless you landed kledE.png then just recast and continue the onslaught. When he has gnarR.png and is about to go big, make like Skaarl and run for the hills. There is not a single champion that can go toe-to-toe with Mega Gnar early on so you have to wait it out. Also be careful if hes Mega near your tower, if the jungler comes and he lands gnarR.png your a dead man. Choose between 3.png and 12.png, as both are good in this one.

VS

Irelia

Medium

Irelia is one of those match-ups in which its 50/50. However this one is VERY VERY snowbally so warding and smart trading is key to win this one. Straight up killing her is very unlikely and her natural sustain means you need to deny her from hitting anything and restoring health for free. If she maxes ireliahitenstyle.png then avoid extended fights, if shes maxing ireliaequilibriumstrike.png go for all in's if she missuses the spell. If you can finish an item before she can then you'll have a nice advantage and can start killing her before she picks up the infamous 3078.png. after that she starts to outscale so just focus on not letting her split. Key thing to remember is respect her dmg!!

VS

Jayce

Hard

What Jayce excels at is exactly what you cant let happen. On top of that, he has the tools to keep you in line. Hes GOING to poke you down and he's GOING to kill you under tower if you let him dismount you early on. This gets a little bit easier with a little bit of gold and exp but for the most part your going to have to give up CS just to not let him run you over like roadkill. However if hes wasting his abilities and mana on creeps then you have an opening. Wait for jungle or play safe until you have items just DO NOT GIVE HIM A KILL. Choose between 3.png and 12.png

VS

Nasus

Easy

its Nasus, just kill him level 3. Not like he can turn around and deal a ton of damage anyway. Just be sure to finish him off or he will lifesteal back his health. Take 12.png so you can take full advantage of the fact Nasus effectively makes the game 5v4 for 25 minutes or more.

VS

Pantheon

Easy

Aside from getting cheesed and poked very early on with pantheon_throw.png this match-up about patience and playing safe until you get a few items and levels, Pantheon is the king of early cheese so respect his damage and dont fight him. As you get more levels and gold look to land kledQ.png and use kledE.png to dodge his pantheon_heartseeker.png. Be warned, you must cast kledQ.png BEFORE he casts pantheon_leapbash.png the second part of kledQ.png will stop the pantheon_heartseeker.png before it deals any or too much damage, after that proceed to murder him. Take 3.png because chances are that 80.png will take 14.png for maximum cheese power.

VS

Riven

Medium

All skill in this match up. However you have a slight lead early on, when shes 6 rivenfengshuiengine.png will be your undoing. Riven doesnt have that insane 100-0 damage she has when shes level 6 so the opportune moment to steal the lead is to kill her before then. Trading autos with someone that has a 150% attack speed steroid kledW.png is not a wise decision. so try and save this for when she riventricleave.pngrivenfeint.png into you, and save kledQ.png for when shes point blank or when shes making a run for it. A good Riven will save rivenfeint.png for the 2nd part of kledQ.png damage and fight you when your kledW.png is on cd. My advice is to not level kledW.png untill she goes in. that way you dont accidentally use it just farming like normal.

Take 3.png if you feel like crushing her or if your just unsure how this plays out.

VS

Shen

Hard

This one is probably the hardest match-up possible. shenfeint.png Shen's W will cancel out a lot of not all of your kledW.png damage. His passive also makes trading with Shen very unfavorable. shenstandunited.png means that he can even roam better than you. Avoid picking 240.png at all because you are not going to have a good time. Take 12.png and just farm up

VS

Vladimir

Easy

Another easy one. At level 3 just put him on a leash kledQ.pngkledW.png, and use kledE.png to keep up with him after he uses vladimirsanguinepool.png. Unless he has a huge cs wave, hes going to need more than a few bandages to fix that mess. Vlad outscales but that's only if he doesnt die 10+ times in lane. Post 6 be careful about simply kledR.png because he can just vladimirsanguinepool.png and you will miss and look very foolish. His only advantage is his sustain, so dont just fight unless you can finish him off. Take 12.png or 14.png this one is your choice.

VS

Yasuo

Easy

That's right, this guy CRAPS on Yasuo if you play him right. Kled has the stickiness and the damage to go toe-to-toe with this guy. He can windwall your Q but the CD is short later on so this isn't a devastating outplay that Yasuo's think when facing you. Kled's E ability is also easier to land since he will most likely look to dash to either you or a nearby minion to trade and if you stick to him after hes out of minions then hes a sitting duck for your whole combo. Break his passive shield whenever you can to ensure he's not mitigating your damage. Just dont let him poke you down, or at least dont let him poke you down for free. Take 3.png if your feeling unsure or if you hate him just as much as I do.

Playstyle Back to Top

I like to think that 240.png plays a lot like 105.png. They're both incredibly sticky and can both assassinate the enemy back line if left alone or if they can snowball. They both have incredibly powerful level 3 all-ins which can be abused to start your snowball against less experience opponents. However unlike 105.png, with 240.png there is no "kill someone and get out" there is only kill everyone or die trying. 240.png's Passive gives him decent survivability but if you just run in 1v5, dont expect Skaarl to be running back to you anytime soon.

The biggest think for 240.png in lane, is that you must avoid taking any and all UNNECESSARY damage and if you decide to go in, make sure you can finish off your opponent or severely hurt him. Being unmounted in lane is an invitation for the enemy to go up and finish you off.

if you find yourself knocked off your cold-blooded friend undefined.png, you have to do everything in your power to deal damage while at the same time avoiding getting bursted or focused down before Skaarl decides to save you. In teamfights I usually accomplish this by stepping back after I fall off and staying near the ADC or Midlane mage(if you have one) Firing off Pocket pistol and using the extended range on my autos to increase courage. This usually works because in teamfights, someone is going to try and jump your carries, happens like 99% of the time. If someone does in fact jump one of your carries, your combined damage with them should make the attacker reconsider or just die before he knows what hit him, or at the very least make Skaarl come back with a nice portion of health.

This is my first guide on here so please let me know if I missed anything or if you have any questions :)
