Summoner Spells Back to Top

For the vast majority of the time, I take Flash and Exhaust.  Having Exhaust gives me that little extra peel that comes in handy very frequently.  There are times I will run Ignite if my ADC is running an aggressive champion or we are looking to get some early kills.

Masteries Back to Top

For the most part, this is a standard Morgana Support masteries page.  The only thing I change from time to time is the Cunning keystone.  Sometimes, if I feel my ADC will benefit from a better Black Shield and Armor/MR boost, I'll take Windspeakers.  But the vast majority of time, I take Thunderlord's Decree for the extra poke you can lay down in lane.

You'll start with Dark Binding to help leash, deal with enemy invades, and/or help your team invade.  This is pretty much standard.  I typically take a point in Black Shield at level 2 because most enemy supports will have some sort of CC.  I also put another point into Black Shield at level 5 to help make your early Black Shields harder to break for hard engage supports.  This is a matter of preference, but I've found it to be very effective.  Otherwise, it's a standard Morgana Support skill order - Max Dark Binding first and Tormented Soil second.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Core Items

This build gives you the ability to control the lanes and move around the map pretty quickly. You sacrifice CDR, but you gain a ton of map control. You should also save your 6th slot for Vision Wards to maintain vision control and to keep tabs on invisible champions during teamfights.

Situational Items

You can build a Frost Queen's Claim if your team needs extra kite or chase potential. You delay your build considerably by going this route. You can also sub Ionian Boots of Lucidity if you find you need more CDR.
Overview

The primary objective of this item build is to keep pressure on the weak side of the map.  This strategy is highly effective in low elo (Bronze through Gold) as teams are less coordinated and have a hard time rotating to deal with lane pressure and weak-side pressure.

I have been using the Luden's Echo to give myself extra movespeed and added AoE damage to minion waves with Tormented Soil.  It's not intended to give you much more damage against enemy champions, but rather to help you push waves, either with your team or pushing a couple of waves on your own as you're dropping your Banner and ZZ'Rot in one of your side lanes.

Offensive Strategy

If your team is pushing mid, you can use your Banner of Command and ZZ'Rot Portal in one of the side lanes to get that lane pushing as well.  This causes the enemy team to have to worry about minons crashing into a side lane, and it will give your team pressure to exploit in a side lane in the case that your main push or siege fails, thus allowing you to rotate to the lane that is pushing and move your siege.

Side lane pressure is also crucial for Dragon or Baron control.  So if Dragon is about to come up, you can drop your Banner and ZZ'Rot in the top lane, and if Baron is about to be up, you can drop your Banner and ZZ'Rot in the bottom lane.  This makes the enemy team have to dedicate resources in a sub-optimal manner to deal with minion pressure while your team takes global objectives on the other side of the map.

I include the Luden's Echo in this build because it will add some extra AoE damage to your Tormented Soil, thus making your focused pushes more powerful.  Also, the Luden's Echo gives you extra move speed, thus allowing you to rotate from lane to lane more quickly.  Every little bit of speed counts!

Defensive Strategy

If your team is behind, you can use your Banner and ZZ'Rot to counter lane pressure in your own weak side lanes.  For example, if you've lost your bottom outer and inner turrets, you can drop your ZZ'Rot next to your bottom inhibitor turret and use your Banner on a siege minion wave to alleviate some pressure and allow your team to stay together.

VS

Alistar

Medium

If you can Black Shield your ADC to stop Alistar's Headbutt/Pulverize combo, then this lane will be very manageable.  Alistar tends to run at you in a straight line, thus making him an easy target for Dark Bindings.

If you can't Black Shield your ADC effectively, then this lane will be more difficult.  This is a lane where taking a second point in Black Shield at level 5 is very crucial to make your Black Shields stronger.  Windspeaker's Blessing is a good keystone to use in this matchup as well.
