Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png MANDATORY - This is a motherfucking great escape/juke tool. Use it wisely and feel yourself a badass.

14.png - Classic summoner spell. Good and old ignite capable of securing dat kill on early levels.

21.pngX 7.png - Barrier is better when you're facing High Burst Champs like 7_64.png157_64.png238_64.png105_64.png45_64.png, etc. While Heal does better against poke champs like 115_64.png99_64.png143_64.png. Anyway it's personal choice, depends on your playstyle. Lately i'm using heal because its been proving to be better than barrier, even when i had an ignite on me (use it with pots, it's better than barrier definitely).

3.png - Very useful against Yasuo's Ult or Zed's Ult. Ofc depends on your playstyle because u can take barrier against these two guys.

12.png - I saw once and Ori with TP. She did nicely, so i decided to try dat. It can work great, specially for roaming and ganks on bot or top lanes, but is preferable and recommended when u r playing with your team (5v5 Ranked or Premade).

6.png - Tried this once. I lost the game. But then 2016 Worlds made me try it again. It's great for repositioning. And it was buffed a few patches ago. Probably it will be nerfed at Pre-season Patch but for now it's amazing.

New Runes Back to Top

Going through the new runes

Sorc+Dom

Summon%20Aerie.png?width=64orArcane%20Comet.png?width=64orPhase%20Rush.png?width=64

Aery is the optimal as it fits the damage-supportive style of Orianna. Comet synergizes very well with your combo to unleash the most damage possible. So you can opt between these two according to your playstyle. Phase Rush doesn't bring much to your table, don't even consider.

Nullifying%20Orb.png?width=32 or  Manaflow%20Band.png?width=32 or The%20Ultimate%20Hat.png?width=32

Nullyfing Orb compared to the others is very weak, only consider if you're against AP bursters or Assasins like Veigar, LB, Fizz and Syndra to survive through their combo. Manaflow isn't really necessary if you manage your mana well. The Ultimate Hat is great in order to always have your ult available. I always go for it but you can go with Manaflow Band to ease your way out with the mana usage.

Transcendence.png?width=32 or Celerity.png?width=32 or Absolute%20Focus.png?width=32

Transcendence is amazing. It gives you free 10% CDR at level 10. And CDR became more rare on AP Itemization due to patch 8.4. Celerity is the weaker one on this. Absolute Focus can lead to a great advantage early on but you need to maintain your health bar above 70%. All in all, it's quite unreliable. So Transcendence is the best option here.

Scorch.png?width=32 or Waterwalking.png?width=32 or Gathering%20Storm.png?width=32

This is where the discussion gets interesting. Scorch is pretty weak on SR compared to Waterwalking and Gathering Storm but is the best for ARAM. Waterwalking relies on roaming and objective control to enjoy the most of it. Gathering Storm is the safest and scaling option which is the one I'm giving priority on this build. You'll see when you check the Items Section.

With Domination being secondary you go for Cheap Shot (cheap%20shot1.png?width=32) and Eyeball Collection (Eyeball%20Collection.png?width=32) as it gives more damage to your combo.

If you want to go for Coup De Grace (Coup%20De%20Grace.png?width=32), you can go for Precision as secondary, the additional attack speed won't be wasted because of your passive. Along with it you can go for Triumph (Triumph.png?width=32) or Presence Of Mind (Presence%20of%20Mind.png?width=32) to give you more mana sustain, which isn't very necessary. You can also go to Legend: Alacrity (Legend%20Alacrity.png?width=32) if you want more attack speed or Legend: Tenacity (Legend%20Tenacity.png?width=32) if the other team has a lot of CC.

Clockwork Windup

OriannaPassive.png

Orianna's autoattacks deal 10 / 18 / 26 / 34 / 42 / 50 (+ 15% AP) bonus magic damage on-hit; any subsequent attack on the same target generates a stack of Clockwork Winding.png Clockwork Winding, increasing Clockwork Windup's damage by 20%, stacking up to two times. The stacks reset if Orianna attacks a different target or doesn't attack for 4 seconds.

Wonderful passive. Great for farming and early harass for your enemies. ABUSE THIS

Command: Attack

Command-_Attack.png.png

Cost: 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 Mana  CD: 6 / 5.25 / 4.5 / 3.75 / 3 seconds  Magic Damage: 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 (+ 50% AP) Minimum Magic Damage: 24 / 36 / 48 / 60 / 72 (+ 20% AP)

Active: Orianna commands the ball to fly towards the target location, dealing magic damage to all enemies that the ball passes through or that are in the target area. However, the ball deals 10% less damage for each subsequent target hit down to a minimum of 40% damage done. After Command: Attack is used, the ball remains behind at the target location.

"Bread and butter" skill. Use it to cause damage, reposition your ball, farm, etc. Dominating the position of your ball with this skill is the key to master Orianna and kick some bitches' butts.

TIP: Instead of leaving the ball on a place and cast Q again (u will notice dat ball moving slowly than normal) try to catch your ball by moving into it or use your shield and then cast your Q (u will notice dat moving faster than the first situation).

Command: Dissonance

Command-_Dissonance.png.png

Cost: 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 Mana  CD: 9 seconds  Magic Damage: 70 / 115 / 160 / 205 / 250 (+ 70% AP)  Buff Mov. Speed/Slow: 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40%

Active: Orianna commands the ball to emit an electric pulse around its current location, dealing magic damage to enemies within 250-range and leaving an electric field on the area for 3 seconds that speeds up allies and slows enemies that walk over it. The effect diminishes over 2 seconds after leaving the area.

Very nice for comboing with Q (Q+W = TONS OF DAMAGE). The utility this spell gives is something to not be wasted, use it while your ball is on the initiator to speed him up or use it to kite with your Q while escaping (It's just great when they chase u because Ori can kite a lot).

Command: Protect

OrianaRedactCommand.png

Cost: 60 Mana  CD: 9 seconds  Armor & MR: 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30  Shield Strength: 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 (+ 40% AP)  Magic Damage: 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 (+ 30% AP)

Passive: The allied champion the ball is currently attached to is granted bonus armor and magic resistance. Active: Orianna commands The Ball to fly to and attach onto an allied champion, dealing damage to enemies it passes through and shielding the allied champion for 4 seconds when it arrives.

Very useful spell. I believe this spell is underrated because most people think it's just for the shield, but the damage is ok and u can use this to reposition your ball too. Don't forget the passive it gives to who it's attached to.

Command: Shockwave

Command-_Shockwave.png

Cost: 100 / 100 / 100 Mana  CD: 120 / 105 / 90 seconds  Magic Damage: 150 / 225 / 300 (+ 70% AP)

Active: Orianna commands the ball to unleash a shockwave after 0.5 seconds, dealing magic damage to enemies within 400-range and flinging them into the air 350-range towards, and possibly over the ball.

Signature skill, ofc. The damage isn't dat high for an ult (W at lvl 5 deals more damage than ult at lvl 2) but the scaling is good and utility this spell gives is motherfucking great. If u have a 157_64.png on your team u can combo with him and REK IT ALL.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

    Usual Start
    Feeling ballsy
Trinkets - start with the warding totem, then (Mid->Late game, with 25 min) switch for the lens. PATCH 5.22 - Green wards are dead, purple remains (now 75 gold). Remember to buy at least 1
Always have one, it's very important that you always put one on the map so there's cooperation on the team's vision (btw not only supports ward anymore)

Core Items

    Usual core
ALWAYS GET DIS ROD OF PENETRATION (GOIN' BALLS DEEP)
When you're facing Veigar, LB or another high burst AP Assassin, u can go with merc boots, it can helps u survive, but i only recommend to use against Veigar
This can work out good, but u have to adapt your build wisely. I recommend it when you're using TP and 18/0/12 with the Summoner's CDR mastery.
[Early build agaisnt ADs] Something that i neglected before: when building zhonya's, remember to stack the passive from Seeker's Armguard, it gives you permanent ap and armor as Jaurim's Fist gives HP (it may seems ridiculous but it's not)
Your final build should look like this
This build is recommended when you need to tank some damage to survive fights, it has increased survivability 'cause of Rod Of Ages combined with Zhonya's and Banshee's

Situational Items

Banshee - turned out to be one of my core items, very good to negate damage from your opponent, while it gives you damage, a wonderful passive and CDR. GA - Not recommended anymore, but if they're really focusing you a lot, give it a try.
    YOLO
Patch 6.9 turned this item only to poke-oriented supports with shields or heals to increase early sustain for allies (BUT NOT FOR YOU). Just build this when you're playing a more passive playstyle focused on protecting the AD carry.
The new Morello doesn't give you M. Regen. anymore but it's still a great item to counter highly sustained champions as it gives AP, Health, M. Pen. and the passive
These two items does not give the enough mana sustain you need to keep spamming. You can choose to go for one of them instead of Archangel's but personally I don't like both of them

Ideal End-Game Build

3020.png3165.png3089.png3157.png3135.png3151.pngor3285.png2139.png

Starter Items

As usual, is highly recommended to start 1056.png and 22003.png. There's not much to discuss, it's the best because it offers the basic for Ori's initial lane phase. But if you're feeling ballsy enough, go for 1082.png instead of doran's ring. There's 2033.png too, it can lead to an early kill if you play right (better than the seal, i think)

1st Back

1001.png with 3802.png

The ideal go-to core build is Athene's Grail, but happens sometimes that you want the passive from Morello to counter healing/sustain of your enemies. I find myself going more to Morello recently because i needing his passive, it's easier to build and offers more ap. But Athene's lead to a safe path 'cause it gives more m. regen. overall.

1001.png with 3191.png

"Rush Zhonyas" build. Obsviously against those pesky AD assassins 92.png91.png157.png80.png126.png121.png238.png (that now got buffed with a whole new item that has Zed's Ult as a passive but do less damage than his ult, anyway, never saw it in-game, but i think it's pretty strong atm)

CORE

3020.png3165.png3116.png3089.png3135.png

Your meta in-game is farm to buy those 99.png AP Items. It's ideal to buy those every game but the order is totally interchangeable. And Void Staff can be changed into 3001.png or 3151.png depending on the matchup.

6th Item (Situational)

Options: 3001.png3151.png3285.png3048.png3157.png

Abyssal Scepter 3001.png

Prior to the tanks update this item changed stats with Banshee's Veil and turned into a tanky item. Not recommended for Orianna anymore.

Tear>Archangel's>Seraph's Embrace 3070.png>3003.png>3048.png

Really situational build. Incredible scaling to late-game, but the actual meta forces to finish games at 25-35min so a stacking item like this is not good actually, but if you're feeling that late-game will come and you want that shield, go for it. Really good combo -> 3048.png3165.png3157.png (Specially against ADs)

Luden's Echo 3285.png

It doesn't give the damages as it used to but still offers a lot of mov. speed (mobility) to reposition yourself and turns your farming into a paradise. Not really necessary nowadays. Often you'll choose between Luden and Rylai.

Zhonya's Hourglass 3157.png

Go when the other team is full AD or when they have a 238.png or 105.png, any champ that you can counter with this item.

Liandry's Torment 3151.png

Really situational, not good anymore as it used to be. It's on the same boat of tear's build path. If u want more health, go for Rylai's. If u want M.Pen. go for Void Staff. Its passive don't really adds much to Ori's burst/utility nature.

Frost Queen's Claim 3092.png

Not good as it used to be. But still good. You can go with that when you do an early rod of ages, it's ideal so you won'r run OoM. But if u can manage your mana well, do it instead of Athene or Morello.

Lich Bane 3100.png

YOLO

VS

Ahri

Easy

Lane:
Dodge her ahriseduce.png and u will be alright (dodge her other skills too so u don't be kicked off the lane). At 6, her ahritumble.png gives mobility that counters your orianadetonatecommand.png, so just take care and focus on farm. Don't follow her into bushes, she will rek u.

Teamfight:
U R BETTER because of your ult. But if she's fed, ask your team to focus on her and don't allow her to rek all your team. Get a good ult = GG.

UPDATE: She was extremely OP with patch 5.2 but now she is ok. Skill matchup.

PERSONAL NOTE:
  1. Early (lvls 1-5) u have the advantage, u can even try to get a kill if u ask jungler's assistance.
  2. I recommend 21.png for this matchup so you can survive burst post-6. I think that 14.png and 1.png are good options too.
  3. You can force a farm lane if Ahri isn't too ballsy to take a risk on you (i wouldn't if i knew that Ori is extremely good ~yeah, it's a compliment~). If u do so, you'll probably win teamfights and so the game.

Remember: she's the assassin type champ.

VS

Akali

Easy

Lane:
On early levels (1-5) rek her with autos and farm (always farm, don't forget dis), also, take care with ganks, junglers are dangerous and unpredictables. At 6, hold on, she becomes a beast. Don't follow her into bushes. I recommend you to always have a pink ward to counter her invisibility.

Teamfight:
If she's fed, focus her, if u don't she's going to rek all your team. Get a good ult off = GG.

Remember: she's the assassin type champ.
Difficulty: Easy, but turns out to be medium after 6.

VS

Anivia

Medium

Lane:
I didn't saw lots of Anivias, but i think it's a farm lane. Her passive difficults killing her, so wait for ganks, focus on farm and take care with enemy ganks.

Teamfight:
I think it's even, but u got a little bit of advantage 'cause of your utility. Don't underestimate her, she got more damage and burst than u.

Skill Matchup

VS

Annie

Easy

Lane:
It's even, but u got a slight advantage because of your range so u can punish her a little. Focus on farm. At 6, take care with ganks, she'll probably start with flash+stun and their jungler will appear out of bush. Don't follow her into bushes, she has a huge burst.

Teamfight:
It's even. If she gets a good Tibbers stun, she wins. If u get a good orianadetonatecommand.png, u win.

PERSONAL NOTE:

  1. You can go with 21.png to negate some of her burst. It's useful but i prefer the kill potential on 14.png.
  2. Watch out for her 4.png CD. If it's up she'll probably do the flash combo and you'll be dead (maybe u can survive with 21.png).
  3. Sometimes Annies don't charge her stun fully, they just do 3 stacks. Then they Q you and while that they use E so the stun charge mid-air and you'll get fucked.

VS

Aurelion Sol

Easy

Laning:

Never faced too much Sols out there. His early is not so good, if he don't hit you with aurelionsolQ.png, his trading is almost done, he's going to lose. Sol is about positioning, so he may trick you sometimes. You got the advantage to control where he's going. Try to force him to 4.png. He's very prone to ganks, specially if he used his 4.png.

Teamfights:
Probably he'll have Rylai, his stars are going to be insane. Try to catch him off-guard with ult. Any CC on him will make him useless. Btw, CC alwas counters everyone. He may got the DPS but u got the burst.

Easy, but can turn out to be a medium matchup depending on Sol's experience.

VS

Azir

Medium

Lane:
He's the new god of laning phase. His poke is insane. But if he decides to poke u, his farm will be a mess. Focus on farm and don't die (take care with enemy ganks, for sure). Wait for ganks or do roaming, but probably he will push the lane, so will be hard times.

Teamfight:
It's skill matchup here, both of u got tons of utility in fights, so who get the best ult off will win.

VS

Brand

Medium

Lane:
If u dodge his skills u win the lane. Focus on farm, wait for ganks and take care with enemy ganks. The key to win 1v1 is to dodge his brandblaze.png and brandfissure.png, but if u dodge the stun, it's a half way to heaven.

Teamfight:
He got the damages in fights but u got the utility. Catch him off guard with ur team and REK HIM.

Difficulty: Easy, but can be medium, depends on your skills and his skills.

VS

Cassiopeia

Medium

Lane:
Both early games are good, but Cass has a little bit of advantage 'cause of her constant poison while you just have a little shield to deny some of her damage. Dodge her skillshots (if you're good, it's ok, but if she's good, it'll be hell) and try to poke her better than she does to you. Take care with enemy ganks.

Teamfight:
Late game, probably, she will be an anaconda, slamming her Nicki Minaj's ass in your face and your teammates' faces. But u still got the advantage because of your orianadetonatecommand.png (it's more easy to get off than her cassiopeiapetrifyinggaze.png).

Difficulty: Skill matchup, hard if Cass is experienced.

VS

Cho'Gath

Hard

Lane:
Lane terror, believe me. I faced Cho once and i got totally rekked. He has so much damage and sustain that he could kill u and still survive your damage. Focus on farm. Or if u have the chance, don't pick Ori against this monster.

Teamfight:
It's skill matchup, try to do your magic with orianadetonatecommand.png and see if u can win.

VS

Diana

Medium

Lane:
Easy on early levels (1-5). Dodge her dianaQ.png (only skillshot she has) and take care with enemy ganks. Ask for ganks early to assert dominance in lane. At 6, take care with her burst, it's good, she can rek u with just one combo+ignite. Don't follow her into bushes, she'll rek u easily. I faced her once adn i got totally wrecked by her on level 3 (yes, lvl 3). Once she is six take care, her burst is fucking insane!

Teamfight:
If she's fed will be complicated, she's kind of Akali, but she doesn't have escapes. Abuse dis. Get a good orianadetonatecommand.png off = GG.

Remember: she's the assassin type.

VS

Ekko

Medium

Lane:
Faced this guy once. Do the usual and try to outplay him (it's really hard). There are moments of vulnerability that u can poke him. It'll hurt him a lot. Always take care when he's lvl 6+, watch out for the sign of his clone so he can't pop it on top of you with extremely high dmg and burst you.

Teamfight:
Both have awesome ults for teamfighting, so i think it's all about dat skills.

VS

Ezreal

Easy

Lane:
Faced him once recently with Smite as Summoner spell and stuff. Focus on farm, take cares with enemy ganks, do the usual and try to dodge his skillshots. It's a fucking farm lane, because u know u can't 1v1 him unless you outplay his mobility hard. He will probably go for AP, so his ezrealtrueshotbarrage.png will hit like a truck. Don't ask for ganks, he has lots of mobility.

Teamfight:
IYou got the advantage. Really. There is no need tow in lane, just farm. On teamfights you wreck him hard. I just expect that your team doesn't be so stupid to take his ult straight up in the face.

VS

Fiddlesticks

Easy

Lane:
Never faced one, but i think he won't be a problem at all, but his fiddlesticksdarkwind.png will be annoying. His terrify.png too. At 6, he'll try to ambush u, probably with his jungler. Take care. Ask for ganks too, he's vulnerable before lvl 6. Don't follow him into bushes.

Teamfight:
It's skill matchup. Who gets the best ult off is the winner.

VS

Fizz

Medium
I highly recommend Barrier when facing dis demon.

Lane:
Little fish demon. I hate him. His troll jump (fizzjump.png) counters hard your ult. And he got lots of damage and burst. U can harass/abuse on early levels (1-3) but after this will be harder to face him. Take care with ganks, ask for ganks and focus on farm. Don't follow him into bushes, it' stupid.

Teamfight:
If he's fed, it's GG. He wins. But if it's even, u can get a good ult off and win. So it's skill matchup.

Remember: he's the assassin type.

VS

Galio

Hard

Lane:
MR Gargoyle Fortress. Extremely OP. Hard counter for any AP. Early u may have a chance. But focus on farm and maybe on teamfights u can win. If u have the chance, don't pick Ori or any other AP against this guy.

Teamfight:
It's skill. Who gets the best ult off is the winner.

VS

Gragas

Easy

Lane:
I just saw Gragas mid before the nerfs/rework. It was a hell. But after the nerfs, it's a lot more easier. Abuse early levels (1-5). His innate sustain can help him, but u got the advantage. At 6, take care, his ult can misposition u easily for a great opportunity of gank. Don't forget to farm.

Teamfight:
It's skill, but u got the advantage. He can catch one of your team off guard but u can catch 3 or even 5 of them off guard for your team. Play smart and u will win.

VS

Jarvan IV

Hard

Lane:
Just ridiculous. Hug tower. Probably he's damn good with J4 or jungler will camp you. Take extremely care, he has 2 gap closers (jarvanivdemacianstandard.png+jarvanivdragonstrike.png and jarvanivcataclysm.png), so he'll probably close the distance very fast. Rush 3157_32.png. Go with 21.png. You'll need. His burst is insane.

Teamfight:
If he's fed (very probably), it'll be surrender at 20. If not, it's skill matchup (both have good teamfighting ults).

VS

Jayce

Medium

Lane:
His poke is fucking badass, but Jayce needs mastering. If he's not dat good with Jayce, rek him. Focus on farm, dodge his Q (skillshot), take care w/ enemy ganks and wait for ganks. Lane is boring with this guy, but he can surprises u with his burst.

Teamfight:
Insane poke is annoying. But u still can get a good ult. Skill matchup

VS

Karma

Medium

Lane:
It's skill matchup. She got a very good early, better than yours so focus on farm, take care with enemy ganks and wait for ganks (ask, if needed).

Teamfight:
It's skill, but u got the advantage 'cause of your ult and u scales better.

Difficulty: Medium, but can turns out to be easy.

VS

Karthus

Easy

Lane:
He's weak at lane, abuse dis. Don't forget to farm and take care with enemy ganks.

Teamfight:
He becomes a beast at late game, but don't let the game reach the late, finish it early with good ults.

VS

Kassadin

Medium

Lane:
He's been buffed a few patches ago, u can still deny him early but don't underestimate his damage. Don't forget to farm and take care with enemy ganks. At 6, this matchup can turns out to way be more complicated, but u can deal with it. Still, don't follow him into bushes, it's suicide.

Teamfight:
He scales fucking hard into late game so don't let the game reach the late.

Remember: he's the assassin type.

VS

Katarina

Easy

Lane:
She's melee so abuse dis on early levels (1-5). If she's a good Kat, she won't let u harass her too much so go for farm. Take care with enemy ganks. At 6, she becomes a problem, but your ult stop hers. Don't follow her into bushes.

Teamfight:
She can rek everyone of your team very easily if allowed to or if she's fed so don't let her do dat. If she gets resets 'cause of her OP passive, your team is done, u lose. DON'T LET HER GET RESETS, KILL HER FAST.

Difficulty: Easy, but can turns out to be medium or hard.

Remember: she's the assassin type.

VS

Kayle

Easy

Lane:
She's a little bit weak at early levels, but when she gets 6, dis matchup becomes harder. Focus on farm, take care w/ enemy ganks and ask for ganks.

Teamfight:
She's a beast at fights but if u catch her off guard, she won't probably be able to use her kayleR.png. It's skill matchup

Difficulty: Easy, but can turns out to be medium or hard.

VS

Kennen

Medium

Laning:

Theory says that u have advantage, but if Kennen is skilled, he's going to stay safe and farm and u can't do much (your abilities have slightly more range than his' still u can't poke him easily) but farm (just last-hit, no need to push). At 6, both have kill potential but he has much more mobility with his kennenlightningrush.png. Don't underestimate him, if u can't solo him, just farm and stay safe. Ask for ganks pre-6.

Teamfights:
One word: equality. Who ults first probably gets the best ult and win the game. Simple as that. He's a little bit frontline so u can try to poke him (to DEATH).

If Kennen is skilled, it'll be a nightmare. JUST GIVE UP, 'CAUSE IT'S HARD AS SHIT!

VS

Kha'Zix

Easy

Laning:

It's easy, just don't get too cocky because at lvl 3 or 6 he will try to jump in and cheese you. Probably you will be ganked. Take care with them. The lane can be safe and farm. Just depends on you.

Teamfight:
If fed, PROBLEM. If not, get a good ult orianadetonatecommand.png, you win, you scale much better but he's an assassin, he excels at 1v1.

VS

LeBlanc

Medium

Lane:
After the nerfs, face LB isn't like being in hell. But still focus on farm, 'cause her early game still is great and she excels on 1v1. Take care with enemy ganks. Don't follow her into bushes, she will damn rek u fucking easily.

Patch 5.17: received a little buff on leblancslide.png's speed (from 1300 to 1450 - before the nerf was 1600). This allows her to combo faster. One tip: when she comes comboing, move aside so you can dodge her leblancsoulshackle.png with more ease, she's very dependent on this skill to finish you off early. And if u see an oportunity on the original place she's going back after using the leblancslide.png dash, do your combo (orianadetonatecommand.png-orianadissonancecommand.png-orianaizunacommand.png-14.png if u have).

RECOMMENDED SPELL: 21.png

Teamfights:
If she's fed, she can be a problem, but if not, get a good ult off and u will win.

Remember: she's the assassin type.

VS

Lissandra

Medium

Lane:
It's skill mathcup, if u dodge her lissandraQ.pngs, you'll be fine. Focus on farm, ask for ganks and take care w/ enemy ganks and when following her into bushes.

Teamfight:
It's skill. She got lots of utility, more than u, but u got a little bit more damage. Anyway, who gets the best ult off is the winner.

VS

Lulu

Medium

Lane:
Skill matchup. Focus on farm, wait for ganks and take care with enemy ganks.

Teamfight:
It's skill too, she has utility and u too so who's doing the best magics will win.

VS

Lux

Medium

Lane:
Skill matchup. But if u dodge her luxlightbinding.png u will be fine. Focus on farm, ask for ganks and take care w/ enemy ganks.

Patch 5.17: buffs to "DEMACIAAAAA! *pew pew lasers* (Reduced mana cost on luxlightbinding.png and the 2nd target it hits now deals full damage and snare duration). Now it's easier for her to prevent ganks and combo at the same time, maybe even get a double kill.

Teamfight:
She has more burst, but u have more utility. It's skill, who's doing the best moves will win.

PERSONAL NOTES:

  1.  When you see her casting luxlightstrikekugel.png, use your orianaredactcommand.png to negate damage. With her recent buffs she can detonate it before it lands, so it's better to prevent it.
  2. There's a technique that Lux players does: casting luxlightbinding.png in the fog of war above the river (i'll add images later related to this). It can catch you off guard. So always be aware of that so you can flash away or don't even pass close.
  3. Ask for ganks, for real. If she's good, she can wreck both of you and get at least 1 kill. If not, she'll be dead easily or burst her summoner's spells.

VS

Malzahar

Hard

Lane:
It's hard. Maybe skill matchup depending on Malz's skills. Before 6, u has advantage upon him, but once both are six, he wins every 1v1.Don't pick Ori against this guy unless you know u will win teamfights.

PERSONAL NOTE: I looked for Malz scalings and base damages and it's fucking OP, i know his spells has really high mana costs, but he doesn't really need to spam his shit. What i want to say is: RIOT PLS NERF DIS VOID PROPHET. If u want to look at his numbers (scalings, base dmg, mana cost, etc.):http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Malzahar
Here you have his win rate (it's 55%, it's damn high just like ahri when got buffed on 5.2 and kass a lot of patches ago. THIS CHAMP IS UNBALANCED): http://www.lolking.net/champions/malzahar#statistics

Teamfight:
As i said, he's great at 1v1 so if he catches u off guard, he wins. But u scales better, 'cause of your orianadetonatecommand.png.

VS

Mordekaiser

Easy

Lane:
Never saw one at mid. But i heard that he's good at laning phase but prone to ganks so focus on farm and ask for ganks before 6. When he gets 6, this matchup becomes a little bit harder.

PERSONAL NOTE: With Juggernauts' Patch, i think he's dead for mid lane, he's much better on bot or top.

Teamfight:
U scales better. Get a good orianadetonatecommand.png off = GG.

Difficulty: Easy, but can turns out to be medium.

VS

Morgana

Easy

Lane:
Farm Lane. Dodge her darkbindingmissile.pngs and you'll be fine. Don't try to kill her, she has lot of sustain because of her passive that gives spellvamp. U can ask for ganks before 6, but not after, she excels at 1x2. Take care w/ enemy ganks. And bait her shield before causing real damage to her.

Teamfight:
She's a beast with her soulshackles.png, try to finish the game early. If u have the chance, don't pick Ori against her.

Difficulty: Easy, but turns out to be extremely hard and annoying.

VS

Nidalee

Easy

Lane:
Dodge her javelintoss.pngs. Focus on farm, ask for ganks if u want and take care with enemy ganks. Don't follow her into bushes.

Teamfight:
She's terrible at fights, she just keep throwing javelintoss.pngs while her teammates are fighting. REK HER. But she excels on 1v1.

Remember: she's the assassin type.

VS

Orianna

Medium

Lane:
Skill matchup. Focus on farm, wait for ganks and take care w/ enemy ganks. She's OP and scales hard into late game.

Teamfight:
Skill. Who gets the best orianadetonatecommand.png off is the winner.

VS

Pantheon

Hard

Lane:
This champ probably was designed to stomp because his early game is motherfucking badass. Focus on farm and survive the laning phase without dying too much. Ask for ganks and take care w/ enemy ganks. Rush 3157_32.png

Teamfight:
U scales a lot harder than him, so get a good orianadetonatecommand.png off = GG. But if he's fed, he's going to be a problem to your team, specially for the ADC.

Remember: he's the assassin type.

VS

Quinn

Medium

Lane:
Yeah, it's weird but possible. Never saw one but i can say that she's good early. Do the usual: focus on farm, wait for ganks, take care with enemy ganks. Don't follow her into bushes, when she's mid, she will be like an AD assassin. Take care with her roaming. With new quinnR.png, she has insane mobility and map presence.

Teamfight:
She can be great or horrible in fights (be like a second adc or like an assassin). But u still scales nicely into late game. Get a good orianadetonatecommand.png = GG.

Remember: she's like an assassin.

VS

Riven

Easy

Lane:
Abuse early, but take care at the same time. Turns out there's a lot of rivens that are learning and a lot main rivens so be careful. Focus on farm and take care with enemy ganks. Don't follow her into bushes. Rush 3157_32.png

Teamfight:
She can be a beast, but if u dominate the laning phase, u will rek her.

Difficulty: Easy, but can turns out to be medium or hard, depends on her skills and yours.

Remember: she's the assassin type.

VS

Rumble

Hard

Lane:
Extremely OP on laning phase. Focus on farm and survive, take care with enemy ganks and wait for ganks, if needed ask for ganks.

Teamfight:
Skill matchup, if he gets an awesome rumblecarpetbomb.png, he wins. If u get a good orianadetonatecommand.png, u win.

VS

Ryze

Easy

Lane:
Abuse hard his weak early game. Take care with enemy ganks, ask for ganks and don't forget to farm, ofc.

Teamfight:
He's an angry blue beast. Don't let the game reach late game. Now he has an utility ult, which can be interesting. I think it's his signature skill now. Take care, he's still got the damages, but he doesn't relies heavily on that now.

Difficulty: Easy, but turns out to be medium on late game.

VS

Swain

Medium

Lane:
I face this sustained bitch once and he is very annoying, go with 14.png agaisnt him, it's your only chance to win him on laning phase. Focus on farm, take care w/ enemy ganks and ask for ganks (u will need). Never get caught in his swainshadowgrasp.png. IIt's your death sentence.

Teamfight:
Skill Matchup. If u get a good orianadetonatecommand.png = GG. This matchup can be hard depending on Swain's skills and on your skills.

VS

Syndra

Medium

Lane:
BALLS EVERYWHERE. She got the advantage because of her range being better than yours and the damage too. I recommend going with 21.png against her to survive her lvl 6 burst. Focus on farm, take care with enemy ganks and ask for ganks, specially before 6 (she's prone and vulnerable to ganks). Don't follow her into bushes -> REK WARNING.

UPDATE: Nerfs hit her with removal of DFG, lowered syndraQ.png dmg on lvl 1 and less width on syndraE.png (LESS STUN). Now it's a skill matchup but she still has burst.

Teamfight:
U r better on fight 'cause of orianadetonatecommand.png, but if she's fed, she will be a problem.

Remember: she's the assassin type.

VS

Taliyah

Medium

Laning:

Both of you are disruptors mages, it's about controlling zones. Be aware of places she used taliyahQ.png, try to trade damage when she is on those worked grounds. Dodge her taliyahW.png, if u don't want to get combo'ed to death. Post-6 her roaming is insane, so you could 12.png or push mid lane insanely while pinging (insanely too) for the bot lane to get back before it's too late.

Teamfights:
Your AoE damage and utility ult is a lot better than hers, but if she uses her ult wisely, it will probably make a teamfight 4x5, so you may lose. Btw, it's a skill matchup.

VS

Talon

Medium

Lane:
On early levels (1-5) he's very weak and mana hungry so u can abuse a little bit of him. Focus on farm, take care w/ ganks and ask for ganks before he reachs 6. Don't follow him into bushes. Rush 3157_32.png. After 6, probably he'll have brutalizer so be aware of his burst, it's huge. Don't underestimate him. If u want, use 21.png to help survive his burst

PERSONAL NOTE: Always have a pink ward 'cause of his broken talonshadowassault.png (it gives him insane mobility and invisibility for 2.5 SECONDS.

Teamfight:
If he's fed, he will be a problem. If not, get a good orianadetonatecommand.png = GG. I recommend buy a pink ward to counter his invisibility.

Difficulty: Can be fucking hard if he's fed.

VS

Teemo

Easy

Lane:
It was a long time ago that i faced this little demon. He' s strong with his blindingdart.png (high base damage and scaling) but u can deal with him. Focus on farm and ask for ganks, specially before he reachs 6.

Teamfight:
His little shits dropped (bantamtrap.png) on the map are very annoying but if u get a good orianadetonatecommand.png, u can win.

Difficulty: Easy, but can turns out to be medium.

VS

Twisted Fate

Easy

Lane:
He's so squishy. It's so good when u rek his hp bar wih a combo. Try to assert dominance on early levels (1-5) because when he reachs 6, he's probably going to get fed on other lanes 'cause of his badass roaming. Push the lane when he does dat and please, warn to your teammates that he is mia. If he gets fed on other lanes, he can probably carry his entire team.

PESRONAL NOTE: You can go with 12.png if your aren't sure that you're going to assert dominance on lane so you can follow-up his incredible roaming.

Teamfight:
If he gets fed (he's probably a really good TF), he probably wins. But if it's even, u can win with a good orianadetonatecommand.png.

Difficulty: On laning phase it's easy, but he got an awesome roaming to get fed off lane, so turns out to be skill matchup with a slightly advantage to him.

VS

Veigar

Medium

Lane:
He will probably farm his veigarbalefulstrike.png so u can abuse him a little. Focus on farm, ask for ganks and take care with enemy ganks. Dodge his veigareventhorizon.png. If u get inside the area, don't move, if u do u will be stunned to death, specially at 6 and after. I recommend buying Merc Boots against this little evil guy.

PERSONAL NOTE: His veigarprimordialburst.png is opressive. Like a lot. He can miss all his spells, but if you have a lot of AP and he has too, you'll probably get one-shotted to death.

Teamfight:
Skill Mathcup, but u got a slight advantage 'cause of orianadetonatecommand.png.

Remember: he's kinda like an assassin.

VS

Vel'Koz

Medium

Lane:
Never saw ths octupus guy. But i believe it's a skill matchup. Focus on farm, ask for ganks and take care with enemy ganks.

Teamfight:
Skill matchup. Who's doing the best moves will win.

VS

Viktor

Medium

Lane:
He can be annoying and his early game is ok as yours. Focus on farm, take care w/ enemy ganks and ask for ganks. At 6, he got a very huge burst, be careful. Don't follow him into bushes. Never get caught in his viktorgravitonfield.png.

PERSONAL NOTE: I think he's kinda like veigar, very opressive. He can shove the minions' wave with just 1 viktordeathray.png. That's ridiculous.

Teamfight:
If he's fed, it's GG. If not, get a good orianadetonatecommand.png off = GG.

Remember: he's kinda like an assassin.

VS

Vladimir

Easy

Lane:
UPDATE: His early game is shit. Rek him on early game because late game he's a motherfucking beast. And again, abuse his weak early game. Take care with enemy ganks. When he gets 6, hold on yourself a little, his 1v1 potential ramps up with his 12% amplification of damage coming from his vladimirhemoplague.png.

Teamfight:
You have the advantage, ofc becaus of your orianadetonatecommand.png (DAT UTILITY, MULPTIPLE CC AND DMG, 5-MAN ULT POTENTIAL). But take care because he has an awesome ult too. If he manages to pull that off on your entire team, you're probably fucked. Anyway, don't let that game reaches late.

VS

Xerath

Medium

Lane:
This lane is all about dodging skillshots. If you're good at it, u win. Focus on farm, ask for ganks and be careful with enemy ganks.

Teamfight:
His poke is insane, just like hell on earth. He's like Jayce, but he's AP and got more damage because of his high scalings. But if u get a good orianadetonatecommand.png, u win.

VS

Yasuo

Medium

Lane:
His early game is weak, abuse dis. But take care, if he's good he will take advantage of his mobility. Focus on farm, ask for ganks before he reachs 6 and be careful with enemy ganks. At 6, he will try to jump at u. Don't follow him into bushes. I recommend using 21.png or 3.png. Rush 3157_32.png

PERSONAL NOTE: Only one word defines this champion: ANNOYING.

Teamfight:
Skill matchup. Who gets the best ult off first is the winner. But he scales fucking hard into late and if he catches u off guard, it's GG.

Remember: he's the assassin type.
Difficulty: Can turn out to be hard if yasuo has good skills.

VS

Zed

Medium

Lane:
Focus on farm and be careful with enemy ganks. If u want, ask for ganks. His early game is ok, u can abuse him a little but don't get too confident. At 6, he will try to jump at u. I recommend using 21.png against him. Rush 3157_32.png too. Don't follow him into bushes.

PERSONAL NOTE: A lot of people say this guy is broken. I totally disagree, when u see that he got advantage over you (not necessarily a kill, just better farm or poke) stay safe, u can do it. RUSH 3157_32.png! SERIOUSLY! U will counter him easily. Don't despair when he zedR.png you, wait 1 or 1 and half a second and activate zhonya. U will cancel his zedR.png dmg. If u use it too early, u take the dmg so prepare to die (it happened to me a couple of times). Normally when i faced him, he gets fed on jungle or bot lane, rarely top lane. After that is hard to face him on 1v1, but if it's even u can deal quite fucking easily, just know what shadow he will jump to and the shadows that he used so u can land a perfect orianadetonatecommand.png and counterplay that slippery dark ninja (i did that once, it was GREAT!)

Teamfight:
If he's fed, he will be a problem. If not, get a good ult orianadetonatecommand.png = GG.

Remember: he's the assassin type.

VS

Ziggs

Easy

Lane:
Dodge his skillshots. It's not complicated, just move aside. He will probably go OOM. Focus on farm, ask for ganks and be careful with enemy ganks.

Teamfight:
Skill Matchup. Who gets the best ult off is the winner.

VS

Zyra

Medium

Lane:
Her early game is weaker than yours, but don't harass too much, she has more range. Focus on farm, ask for ganks and be careful w/ enemy ganks.

Teamfight:
Skill Matchup. Who get the best ult off is the winner.

A little bit about me Back to Top

I'm platinum V now (FINALLY), maybe i'll get to diamond but i'm ok with platinum. When i played the first time with 61_64.png, i knew that bitch would be my favorite champ. I decided to practice a lot and today i am main Ori. I am main 40_64.png too, but i still prefer 61_64.png as my favorite champ. I hope that even i do not have a high elo, this guide be considered good by the viewers.

If u really enjoyed the content of the guide, rate it, leave your thumbs up - i appreciate it so much. If u think its need improvements, give your feedback on comments section, i will check on those regularly to look for improvement suggestions. If you faced a matchup that i didn't have info about, u can leave your personal note at the comments. I appreciate your help and thank you for the support. (English isn't my native language so there are some mistakes in the guide, gradually i will change, if u see one, comment and i'll change ^^)

Pros & Cons Back to Top

Pros 20.png

- Very safe pick
- Good waveclear
- Very easy to farm
- Nice damage and poke
- Great utility with Command: Shockwave (Ult)
- Scales hard into mid-late game

Cons 3.png

- Mana hungry (early game can be difficult)
- Average range (long-ranged champs can rek u)
- Not so good early game
- Hard to master (even if u practice a lot, u will make mistakes, shit happens)
- Low base mov. speed (for some people it's not a problem 'cause of her W, but i think it's too low, she has the same Zyra's mov. speed, but Zyra has more range while Ori has just an average range, it doesn't make sense. Rito pls buff Ori's mov. speed.)

Smart Cast Back to Top

Smart Cast is Essential

With Orianna, u will always wants to use smart cast. In the beginning can be a little hard to get used to, but it takes time. Otherwise, it's very rewarding. U can allow the smart cast on the options. Press "Esc" and go to the hotkeys section and then press "Smart Cast All". Done. U will see that's awesome with Ori. Check the image below if u didn't find the smart cast option:

Early Game and Combos Back to Top

Laning Tips and Tricks

As Ori, your early game is ok compared to other mid laners so she is a very safe pick. You'll always want to farm as Ori scales very well.

Levels 1-5

If your opponent is melee, u can try to harass him with autos, but your focus is to farm. Your passive helps a lot with it. I always put an objective in my mind when i play with her: 200 cs at 20 minutes. Try to do dis too, it helps a lot with farming skills. Early, u want to use your shield and autos to harass and farm and save Q+W for key moments. Go back when u have aroun 1000gold or more, 'cause u can buy 1001_32.png and 2 1056_32.png or 3028_32.png/3114_32.png.

Level 6

When u reach 6, u can try to get a kill, but u don't need to desperate. Wait for a ganks and poke the enemy. But never forget to farm.

Combos

SLAP IN DA BITCHES' FACE

Command-_Attack.png.png+Command-_Dissonance.png OR Command-_Attack.png.png+OrianaRedactCommand.png

This a basic combo for poke and harassment. Q+W is more common but i like to use Q+E while on early levels (1-5) because it costs less mana and u need the shield to soak up the incoming damage on early trades.

GOING FOR THE KILL

Command-_Attack.png.png+Command-_Shockwave.png+Command-_Dissonance.png+Ignite.png

Another basic combo. When your enemy only have 50% or 40% HP, the ball is impatient, the ball is angry. It wants kills and u want too. Yes, u r a weapon. So kill dat bitch if given the chance.

Difficult Lane Back to Top

When you know that lane will be fucking hard (7_64.png238_64.png90_64.png, etc.) try to stay safe and take minimum damage while farming. Just farm and try to stay even. I finded myself being so much passive a lot of times doing this but it's good. You will shine on teamfights, at least i hope dat but sometimes it doesn't happen, i'm sorry :/

GANKS

Just ask if u have in mind that u can kill your opponent (if he's under or 70-50% HP, without summoners spells and CC/dash abilities are on CD...). I think that i ask little to no ganks on every match. I don't like to do it on SoloQ 'cause i have in mind that i can't win the lane so the jungler can gank other lanes and lose less time on mid, feeding my enemy or wasting spells. If he's ganking other lanes and they are doing better than you, let it be. Just don't feed the enemy, stay safe, even if that means losing farm (sometimes i toke the risk to farm and i died, lol, i'm not so good as you may think).

Mid & Late Game Back to Top

Mid Game

It's the point where you probably destroyed the first turret, have 150 cs and at least 2 core items, so the duration of the game is between 20-35 minutes. The laners will start to rotate and roaming like crazy bitches. Bot lane probably will push the mid lane with you. May your team has 1 or 2 dragons and few teamfights happened.

Teamfights will be more frequently and your job is postioning yourself and your ball well to get a good ult and survive the fight. If u do dis nicely, the game won't reach late game.

Late Game

Teams will group more frequently than ever because late game every teamfight, every mistake, every minute counts. The duration is probably between 35-50 minutes or more and 1 or 2 inhibitors are down. Teams are rushing to the enemies' nexus and making sieges.

Do the same as mid game, but be very careful about your positioning, they'll focus you and your ADC so protect him too. If u can't get a good ult off on their backline, peel with your adc and support. Don't risk yourself to get a good ult unless this will lead u to the victory. As Ori, u need to make an analysis of every situation to adapt your combos, anyway her kit is all about skillshots and good reflexes.

Vision - Wards (Greens and Pinks) Back to Top

Wards - Key Point to Win Games

2044_64.png 2043_64.png

In Season 3, the supports were the only ones that wards the jungle, bushes, etc. Junglers used to did dat sometimes. In Season 4, all had changed: everyone needs to ward now because the support can't have more than 4 wards (3 green, 1 pink). The trinkets were a nice adittion to incentivate the warding job. As Ori, when u start, is important that u take the warding totem (the green one), u will need dat, believe me, vision is everything and really can be the key to winning.

A couple of times i died for my opponent and his jungler 'cause i put the ward and didn't watch out for the map. Always be aware of map vision. On the first back, u can continue with the trinket, if u prefer, but is recommended that u start buying wards (green and a pink) to ward the rivers and switch the warding totem to the lens to have vision control over your enemies.

I like to buy at least a pink on the first back to ward one river. A pink ward is very cost-efficient if u put on a good place dat no enemy will notice so the pink will always stay there and grant vision for your team.

Ward Spots

Blue Side

Blue side.jpg

1-2. The first is great early game to prevent ganks, the second is better if u want to have vision on enemy jungler and countergank along with ur jungler.
3-4. Awesome spots for a pink ward (some matches u don't even need to buy more than one). The third spot is good if u want vision on the river-dragon. The fourth is better if u are too much advanced on lane or if u are losing or even when ur jungler is having tough times with invasions, counterjungle, etc.

There are some other great spots too, but these ones are essentials on early game.

Red Side

Purple side.jpg

1. I already talked about this spot on the first image, ignore if u are on the blue/red side, the important are the spots, they are nicely suited for both sides.
2. Another great point to a pink ward. Normally i put there, it's hardly noticed.
3. If u are on red side, put if u r winning for domination of enemies' jungle. If u are on blue side, put if u r losing.
4. Talked about this one before on the first image. If u are on red side, put when advanced on lane to prevent ganks. (OR U COULD HAVE A SIXTH SENSE AND DOESN'T NEED WARDS TO PREVENT GANKS)

Images credit goes to Hexadecimal, i toke those from his guide, i liked that too much and i want to use on my guide. I used to read his guide when i was practicing with Ori, so i am very grateful to him and his guide, he kinda inspired me to make my own guide to Ori ^^

Tips to get a good ult Back to Top

Command-_Shockwave.png HOW TO SWAG Command-_Shockwave.png

1. Always try to ult 3 or more bitches. Unless there is a fed Vayne or any other demon

dat u need to blow.

2. Try to do teamfights on small places, like those narrow paths of the jungle,

it's easier to land your ult.

3. Watch for cooldowns of mobility's abilities like 7_64.png's W, 238_64.png's shadows, 103_64.png's ult

(i hate dat bitch) or 81_64.png's E. Ult only when those spells are unavailable for them.
