Summoner Spells Back to Top

3.pngExhaust is just a fantastic utility for control, adding just one more for Rakan to harass his enemies and help secure kills easily, try  rakanr.pngThe Quickness + rakanw.pngGrand Entrance + 3.pngExhaust for a great long lasting control combo. 7.pngHeal works great for any support and can help turn the tides of war with a quick rakanq.pngGleaming Quill +rakane.pngBattle Dance + 7.pngHeal, to bring an ally back to the fight with a big portion of health and shields.

Masteries Back to Top

Staying in the fight as long as possible is the name of the game. With these masteries you have a ton of health regeneration and mana regeneration. Recovery allows you to stay in your lane without having to sweat the pokes from an enemy. Explorer is great for quickly laying wards or helping your mid lane push their tower, then swiftly return to your ADC. Runic Armor applies to rakanpassive.pngFey Feathers shield and your rakanq.pngGleaming Quill heals, keeping you alive and healthy. Perseverance is great for those little mishaps when you dive onto an enemy and things don't go the way you intended, within a short amount of time you'll be ready to jump back in and claim your revenge. Legendary Guardian is fantastic for those big team plays, making you even more of a tank as you jump into a team fight head first with rakanw.pngGrand Entrance, knocking-up as many enemies as you can and taking much less punishment for it. Courage of the Colossus is amazing for 497.pngRakan, rakanw.pngGrand Entrance can be used for a hundred different plays, easily granting you a bonus shield when you dive on a group of enemies and rakanr.pngThe Quickness can lead you into grouping up enemies charming them towards you as you laugh behind your new shield. Wanderer is just great for mobility, making you a little bit faster when trying to get back into lane. Secret Stash helps keep your mana pool full after laying down a barrage of abilities. Meditation allows you to stay in lane as long as possible, while shielding your friends and knocking-up your enemies. Dangerous Game can keep you topped off in a long fight, making it easy to chain from target to target without worrying about running out of mana or hit points.

rakanq.pngGleaming Quill as a first pick for several reasons, first and foremost, cool down, quill has the shortest cool down of all your spells, on top of that it's your only heal ability and it scales with your level meaning you only need to put a single point in it for it's full necessity. rakanw.pngGrand Entrance is your go to ability, being able to knock-up every enemy in an AOE is simply amazing, not to mention it is 497.pngRakans' hardest hitting move because of it's capability to hit multiple enemies. rakane.pngBattle Dance gives you full mobility over any lane that you share with any ally, this is your most valuable ability, being able to quickly leap back to your ADC and place a shield on them is one of the most amazing abilities of any support champion. Taking rakane.pngBattle Dance to max level first greatly reduces you cool down on it while increasing shield strength, allowing you to keep a shield on your ally for the majority of a team fight, bouncing between your allies and enemies with rakane.pngBattle Dance + rakanw.pngGrand Entrance + rakane.pngBattle Dance multiple allies with shields and multiple enemies flying through the air unable to respond for a full second. With rakanr.pngThe Quickness 497.pngRakan becomes the most mobile champion in the league, a massive 50% movement speed increase makes you able to both catch weak prey or escape a sticky situation with ease. Because of the charm effect on rakanr.pngThe Quickness it makes it very easy to group up a swarm of enemies into a small area setting up a perfect rakanw.pngGrand Entrance + rakanq.pngGleaming Quill combo, with a fast rakane.pngBattle Dance + rakane.pngBattle Dance to unload a combination of a full 5 seconds of crowd control, AOE healing to several allies and shielding for up to two allies.

Core Items

Situational Items

Starting items are picked up as often as you can manage, with 3301.pngAncient Coin gaining money even while playing defensively is very easy, upgrade it into a 3096.pngNomad's Medallion as soon as you're able to give yourself a greater boost in your passive gold upkeep. 2049.pngSightstone is a necessity for playing a support champion, being able to place all three wards without waiting for a cool down is the best way to stay in control of your lane, once you've purchased your 2049.pngSightstone you will no longer need 3340.pngWarding Totem so swap it out for a 3341.pngSweeping Lens so you can easily find and disable enemy wards, 3364.pngOracle Alteration is even more useful once you're level 9, letting you scan a much greater area.  3114.pngForbidden Idol is an early game must have item, with the unique passive giving you at bonus to both your shields and heals it plays off of rakanpassive.pngFey Feathers, rakane.pngBattle Dance, and rakanq.pngGleaming Quill making it invaluable to 497.pngRakan. Getting 3801.png early on will give you an easy health and health regeneration bonus keeping you in lane longer and earning more gold. Keeping a 2055.pngControl Ward in your inventory at all times is a great way to ensure you can control permanent vision on the river, or other high traffic zones.

Your mid game items can be picked up as you need them and in any order, just gauge how you're doing in lane find your weak points and pick something to fill the gaps.

For Core Items we start with 2302.pngEye of the Oasis which gives you +200 Health, +10% cooldown reduction, +100% health regeneration, +100% mana regeneration and a passive granting you +6 gold and +10 health for being near minion deaths without last hitting them, on top of the fact it allows you to place wards. 3009.pngBoots of Swiftness are great for keeping up your movements at full speed, never holding still for more than a second or 497.pngRakan can frustrate your enemies and cause them to waste abilities trying to catch you. 3504.pngArdent Censer is an amazing item, giving you a +10% increase to both shields and heals, +8% movement speed, +50% mana regen, +10% cooldown reduction, +60 ability power, and an amazing passive that gives +20%-35% attack speed and a 20-35 health drain on your allies attacks for a full 6 seconds anytime you heal or shield them. Seeing as how 497.pngRakans heal rakanq.pngGleaming Quill is an AOE ability and he can cast his shield rakane.pngBattle Dance on multiple allies in short succession, you can apply the passive to all affected allies. 3222.pngMikael's Crucible stacks additively with your 3504.pngArdent Censer, effectively giving you a 30% bonus to shields and heals, it also packs another great passive giving you +25% health regeneration for every +25% mana regeneration you already have. 3222.pngMikael's Crucible also has an activated ability that can save you or a teammate in a bad situation, removing all movement impairing effects, giving them slow immunity AND a 40% movement speed bonus for two seconds. 3109.pngKnights Vow is a great item for both you and your ADC, passively reducing the damage they take by redirecting 12% of the damage they take onto yourself while simultaneously gaining 12% of the damage your ally deals to enemy champions in health for yourself. It also grants you a solid +40 base armor and a bonus +20 armor when near your ally, +400 health, and +100% health regeneration. 3078.pngTrinity Force is not your standard support item, and even in this build its not intended to save your allies lives, this one is strictly for 497.pngRakan to have some fun, with two great passives and a slew of stat increases it is overall just a great item for diving on a group of enemies laying down the Spellblade passive on top of a squishy target for a chunk of damage while simultaneously activating the Rage passive, easily letting you overwhelm your enemy when they realize they cannot outrun you.
