VS

Aatrox

Easy

Avoid long trades. Zone him out of the wave.

Start: Doran blade + pot

VS

Akali

Medium

Ask for jungle help pre level 9 there she hits her power spike, before that you can bully her easily. Try to be as ahead as possible on cs and zone her try to freeze and deny her. Be careful her lvl 1 is very powerful if she pops her Q mark. Take ignite.

Start: Doran blade + pot/Long sword + 3 pots

VS

Cho'Gath

Medium

Cooldown based sustained tank. You should fight him as long as you can. If you just poke him he will sustain with his passive. On lvl 6 fights activate your ult early becasue his silence+ult hurts a lot. Go for long trades.

Start: Doran blade + pot

VS

Darius

Medium

Darius is a bruiser like you, but he doesn't have sustain. He has high burst damage after level 6. Go for fast trades cause his passive chuncks a lot of your health. Try to avoid getting caught with his E. Use your dash to get in his inner Q circle use Q then auto-W and dash away.

Start: Doran blade + pot

VS

Dr. Mundo

Medium

Dr.Mundo is a sustained tank, who can harass you with his Q. I don't recommend to stack health vs him because his Q does percentage damage from your current health. Try to kill him in the early game if he makes mistakes, otherwise focus on farming. Cleaver is very efficient in that matchup. Botrk is also an option. Ignite is a viable option in this match up.

Start: Doran blade + pot

VS

Fiora

Medium

Skill matchup if you outplay her W, you will win the trade. Try to not stun yourself. Her level 6 is as strong as your so watch out. Try to go In with E and then auto and Q till she uses her W when she does immediatly Stun and dash away. Don't go for long trades.

All starts are viable, depending on your playstyle.

VS

Gangplank

Medium

He can poke you with his Q and remove your stun with W. If he goes too aggressive punish, stay out of the barrels or last hit them. Your all in is stronger than his is. Most Gp's rune exh, so watch out for that.

All starts are viable, depending on your playstyle.

VS

Garen

Medium

Before level six when he come with silence activate stun and trade with him. After level six don't use stun when he engages with silence wait for it to get and trade with the extended combo. Harass him with Q during early laning.

Start: Doran blade + pot/Long sword + 3 pots

VS

Gnar

Hard

The hell is unleashing when you go into that matchup. This little thing has everything that counters you. In mini he can kite and deal massive dmg because of his W and in mega form its just hell he has so much CC. However you can win if he decides to trade you too aggresive into the early game. Try not to ult if his E is up.

Start: Doran shield + pot/ Doran blade + pot

VS

Illaoi

Medium

Don't get him by her E. Save one of the dashes so you can escape if she ults.

Start: Doran blade + pot

VS

Irelia

Medium

Better nerf Renekton. Before you use your ult wait for her to waste her E, then use ult and kill her. If you are behind go ask for ganks. Her sustain is good, go for fast trades. Do not fight her after she gets 2 items.

Start: Doran blade + pot/ Long sword + 3 pots

VS

Jarvan IV

Medium

His early game is strong but not as strong as yours. Try to dodge his jarvanivdragonstrike.png. If you dodge his combo he is useless.

Start:Doran blade + pot

VS

Jax

Medium

This is skill matchup. Be careful of his lvl 1. Start to bully him at level 2. Outplay his E so he doesnt block your W.

Start: Doran blade + pot/ Long sword + 3 pots

VS

Jayce

Hard

Try to not lose a lot of health lvl 1. Don't let him push yo early use your Q into the wave lvl 1. Level 2 trade with E+Q then dash out. Start doran shield and hope he is not a good jayce players else you are screwed. Ask for ganks.

VS

Kha'Zix

Medium

Don't get isolated. Enough said.

VS

Lee Sin

Medium

He is early game champion like you. This is skill matchup if he max W will outsustain you but you will outdamage him he will try to get first blood and level 2. Don't fight at level one.

Start: Doran blade + pot/ Long sword + 3 pots

VS

Malphite

Medium

Very strong tank. You will rarely kill him because of his passive. If he harasses you Malphite will run out of mana. Dont fight that much focus on farming.

Start: Doran blade + pot

VS

Maokai

Medium

Not that hard of a matchup you will be outdamaging him at every stage of the game. Watchout for ganks since he has decent cc.

Start: Doran blade + pot/ Long sword + 3 pots

VS

Master Yi

Easy

Easy bulliable lane. I wont explain any further he is weak early and can be easily killed.

Start: Doran blade + pot/ Long sword + 3 pots

VS

Nasus

Medium

He is strong late game unlike you. He will try to farm under turret. Ask for gank early and shut him down early because he will kill you on late. Freeze the wave if needed.

Start: Doran blade + pot/ Long sword + 3 pots

VS

Olaf

Medium

I actually don't play a lot vs olaf. He will easy run out of mana if he harass you with Q. If he try to poke you with E activate W and kill him. He don't have good disengage so you can turn on ult whenever you want.

Start: Doran blade + pot

VS

Vladimir

Medium

Dont let him scale into the late game. Go super aggresive. Don't let him use his empowered Q on you.

Start: Doran blade + pot/ Long sword + 3 pots

VS

Yasuo

Medium

Use E+W to stun him and trade. Dont fight till lvl 3. Tabi's are your friends.

Start: Doran blade + pot/ Doran shield + pot

VS

Yorick

Medium

Not that easy matchup. But its a little bit in your favor since you can lifesteal from his ghouls you also get fury that way. Try to not get locked in his cage.

Start: Doran blade + pot

Introduction Back to Top

I am lucifer3696, I am currently ranked as one of the best Renektons in the world- http://www.lolskill.net/summoner/EUNE/lucifer3696. I played renekton for the first time in s3. Instantly fell in love with the champion. He is my favourite champion to this very day and my most played champion. Recently he has been strong pick and i started playing him even more.

58.png

pros:

-good snowball

-easy to learn

-decent early game

-strong splipush
-could 1v2 when ganked
cons:
-hard to utilize when behind
-needs pretty good knowedge when you can and when you cant fight
-not that high damage in the late game

Hail hydra Back to Top

3074.pngvs3748.png

I personally prefer 3748.png, cause the burst is higher. But 3074.png has good sustain and is better if you splipush. You can delay the hydra buy and get tank item if the enemy team is focusing you, or if your team needs a tank.

Combos Back to Top

E>aa>W>hydra>aa>Q>aa>E - this is the extended combo

E>aa>W>hydra>Q>aa>E- fast combo

Don't forget to cancel your auto attack animation with aa>W

This are the combos you should be using to harass your opponent in the laning phase.

Cancels Back to Top

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZUT3VrmAnU&t=1s - Every cancel known to this day. Most of them are not that hard to learn. All the credit goes to Godrekton.

Early game Back to Top

Early game is where Renekton shines. He is one of the strongest lane bullies and virtually has no bad matchups. Most of the time you will get out of the laning phase with a huge lead.

Mid game Back to Top

Mid game you are required to either splitpush and draw pressure or make picks and take objectives. You should use the lead that you acquired in the early game and help your team.

Late game Back to Top

Renekton's weakest point. You should play like a tank and searth for good engages. If you are a good Renekton player most of the games won't get to the late game.

Sources Back to Top

Those are the sources I used to learn Renekton I suggest you do the same.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaHA8ERluECTagxHT1sfAwQ - very informative Renekton main.

https://www.youtube.com/user/SoloRenektonOnly - The best renekton channel that there is. Shows not only the common Renekton gameplay, but also how to control the wave, so you can acquire advantages over your opponent.

https://www.reddit.com/r/RenektonMains/ - Renekton mains community. They will answer most of the questions you have.
