Summoner Spells Back to Top

12.png vs 14.png

Personally I prefer 12.png over 14.png  only for two simple reasons for shen. 1) He lacks wave clear. So any time away from lane will (in most cases) result in your lane getting pushed in. 2) You have more map presence and pressure. Between 12.png and using yourshenstandunited.png to help around the map, you gain better, more efficient map control. The only reason you should take 14.png on 98.png would be against certain match-ups where (based on your skill) can help you dominate your lane. (see champ match-ups below to see which match-ups 14.png is good in)

New Runes Back to Top

Masteries Back to Top

Resolve

Unyielding: That 6% bonus armor and magic resist comes in real handy in mid-late game.

Tough Skin: 2 less damage during trades?  uh definately yes

Runic Armor: This mastery helps give your  shenfeint.png  a little bit of a boost as well as boost your sustain from your shenvorpalstar.png

Perseverance: Adding onto your shenvorpalstar.png and your build, it's very helpful in your overall sustain and tankiness

* This branch is interchangeable*

Legendary Guardian: It's simple why. You can tank more hits in team fights once you engage with yourshenshadowdash.png

Swiftness: This is for when you want to strike fear into the enemy. You're tanky, you win most duals and now you're even harder to stop from getting into there faces?!?

Grasp of the Undying: It helps with sustain in a prolonged skirmish and added with your shenpassive.png damage and shenvorpalstar.png healing makes winning trades a lot easier.

Ferocity

Sorcery: OK I know there will be some hate for not choosing the attack speed mastery on shen but oh well. In lane match-ups where you just can't trade with autos, the little extra damage from your shenvorpalstar.png poke will be worth it. Trust me

Feast: This one is only really beneficial for when you're last hitting with your shenvorpalstar.png because of the immediate health you get from it

Vampirism: Just because it helps your sustain that much more overall

Oppressor: It is exactly what shen is. He oppresses his enemy in lane with his constant poke, good sustain, and ability to turn around a fight. This mastery comes especially in handy when you all-in with your shenshadowdash.png

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

vs AD top with good sustain
Alternate vs AD with weaker sustain
    vs Ap top

Core Items

These are a MUST on shen as either first or second item depending on lane
Depends on your lane and the enemy team comp
For heavy AD *Dead Man's is great for trades*
For heavy Ap *always get spirit visage before banshee's and NEVER replace spirit for it*

Situational Items

always a good dmg item on shen
For the late game team fights
I actually haven't tried the new rageblade on shen yet, but I'd assume it's good.
Other items that could work on shen against AD
These enchantments vary for if you wanna be more team fight focused or if you wanna have more 1v1 potential. Since homeguard is automatic @20 min these are always a viable option. *Furor speed boost stacks with the rage passive from trinity*
Titanic is the better option, however with the new shen Re-work, Ravenous might be the new way to go on shen since he no longer has the HP regen

VS

Jhin

*I will update shen's skills once lolking adds his new kit*

Pre-6: This match up will only be difficult if you let fear get to you. You are tanky enough to survive his poke and do enough dmg to win trades. Use your shenvorpalstar.png to proc your passive shield to block his Q jhinQ.png. If Jhin starts to walk towards you to proc his fourth auto, just use shenfeint.png while next to your spirit sword and you will take no dmg. All-in him while he's reloading with shenshadowdash.png->shenvorpalstar.png AA him until he breaks your shield, then use shenfeint.png to either continue the fight or to safely disengage.

Post-6: This is when you should ask for some assistance from mid or your jungler. While you can still win most trades Shen's now lack of sustain from his old Q makes trading often while staying healthy not really possible. If you try to trade often, Jhin will back away then use his R jhinR.png to finish you of, especially since his fourth jhinR.png shot does a large chunk of dmg. If you can, just get outside of his cone range (from the sides preferably) or use your shenvorpalstar.png to proc your shield to absorb some shots, then use your shenshadowdash.png to avoid his fourth shot.

VS

Cho'Gath

Medium

Cho'Gerth

Pre-6: Be wary of his early game poke from his vorpalspikes.png as they do count as an ability, and if they have the DFT (deathfire touch) mastery it will cause some annoying pain for you. Just try to keep side stepping and poke him with shenvorpalstar.png. Don't all-in too often since he can use rupture.png to knock you up and slow you then feralscream.png so you can't use your shenfeint.png to absorb some dmg making the trade in his favor. Call your jungler for an early gank to help shut him down.

Post-6: Be cautious for the above and keep in mind that both his rupture.png and feralscream.png can interrupt your shenstandunited.png. If you are low and wanna try to pull of a shen out play under turret, DON'T. His feast.png is true damage and it's an execute skill so it WILL kill you. You need your jungler seriously, or not Cho'Gerth will become a literal monster in lane.

VS

Darius

Medium

Darius:

*if good darius do this*

Pre-6: Just walk back and forth trying to bait out his dariuscleave.png while staying just out of it's range. After it's on cd poke him back withshenvorpalstar.png. If he uses dariusaxegrabcone.png don't panic stay close to him since he will most likely use his dariuscleave.png and if you're in the inner radius of it, it will not apply a stack of hemorrhage. If you do have his bleed on you and he his near your turret range, shenshadowdash.png him and the turret will start to attack him since his hemorrhage is dmging you at a whopping 1 hp every 2 seconds (or something small like that xD)

*Do the above, but if he's good he won't dariuscleave.png right after dariusaxegrabcone.png once he realizes you aren't running away. Instead he will dariusnoxiantacticsonh.png you and AA you for hemorrhage stacks until you bailout with shenshadowdash.png. If you are gonna get hit by his dariuscleave.png, use shenfeint.png to absorb the initial strike not for the bleed.

Post-6:  Play a bit safer and avoid getting his hemorrhage stacks onto you. His dariusexecute.png with max stacks can turn around a fight as quick as a 86.png garenjustice.png

*Do the above but even safer. If it is a good Darius he will be aggressive and smart and will harass you any chance he get's. Call your jungler for a gank

His dariusaxegrabcone.png can interrupt your shenstandunited.png.

VS

Diana

Medium

Diana

Pre-6: Diana is fairly easy and simple to fight pre-6. The only thing you need to avoid is her dianaQ.png poke. If you can do that, this match-up should be easy. If she uses her dianaW.png to block you shenvorpalstar.png poke for some reason, then you'll win faster since it's not worth on her end to block because she uses mana. Her dianaW.png and especially her dianaE.png have long cd so take advantage of those windows to poke and all-in her. Just be wary of her passive. It actually hurts a bit. If it's a good Diana, she will hit most of her dianaQ.png on you and this will be a problem post-6.

Post-6: If you were able to get a kill or two on her OR have enough gold to get that early MR you should be able to fight her more often while winning trades. If she uses her all in combo by dianaQ.png->dianaR.png just shenshadowdash.png her and force her to back off, and abuse her with shenvorpalstar.png on the chase. If it's a good Diana, she might not back off so easy and will try to bring the pain of her passive. If she roams and gets a couple kills be very cautious, her build may not be tank but she is deceptively tanky. You should be able to keep her under control and out sustain her. Her dianaE.png can interrupt your shenstandunited.png.

VS

Fiora

Medium

Fiora

(*if good fiora do this)

Pre-6: You can easily abuse her with shenvorpalstar.png and if you see her try to over aggresively poke your vitals with fioraq.png even near/under your tower, just taunt her to give her  turret shot or two and some winion dmg.

* Stay safe and farm with shenvorpalstar.png try to avoid direct fights and absorb the dmg from her hitting your vitals with shenfeint.png. Only poke with shenvorpalstar.png if she misses her fioraq.png. You literally have to have a very dangerous dance with the grand duelist. If you can time your shenshadowdash.png well and not have it countered by her fiorariposte.png you should win the trades.

Post-6: She gets a bit more threatening with the low cd of her fioraq.png and she will most likely win a fight if she marks you with fioradance.png. If she marks you just back off and let it run out. She will most likely recklessly spam her fioraq.png to try to keep fighting or back away. If she tries to keep fighting, turn it around on her and you should be able to force a back out of her.

* Play with more cation. If they know how to play Fiora well, they will destroy you with their fioradance.png. There simply is no way to build tanky enough to counter it. Just shenshadowdash.png away to avoid as much dmg as possible. Once the mark is gone. Take back your lead in the deadly dance.

VS

Fizz

Easy

Fizz

Pre-6: You can easily out trade him. Abuse him with shenvorpalstar.png whenever you can, especially when he goes in for farm. If you abuse him enough he might even use his fizzjump.png to avoid the poke. If he does, that is your time to strike. His fizzjump.png has the exact same cd as your shenshadowdash.png. So it can go both ways. If you use shenshadowdash.png first that gives him his window to strike.

Post-6: He will be a bit trickier to lock down long enough for a trade but is still manageable. If you rush 3065.png first, you will easily win in skirmishes with him. If he hits you with his fizzmarinerdoom.png, expect him to all-in you and a possible gank. If there is no gank, just use shenfeint.png to reduce some of the dmg, then turn on him with shenshadowdash.png and you should win the fight.

*His fizzmarinerdoom.png can interrupt your shenstandunited.png*

VS

Hecarim

Easy

Hecarim

Pre-6: You should be able to out poke him and out sustain him. If he camps in bush then tries to abuse you with hecarimramp.png take advantage of his recklessness. Stay near the edge of your turret range when he's charging at you with hecarimramp.png. A well timed shenshadowdash.png from you will make him eat a couple turret shots and Ta-Da, you've won the trade. From there, keep abusing him with shenvorpalstar.png, and All-in him to force a flash out of him. If the hec grabbed ghost instead of flash, call your jungler. Not because your lane is hard, but because most likely, their jungler will start to gank you more with how fed you will become.

Post-6: His hecarimult.png and hecarimramp.png can interrupt your shenstandunited.png. Hecarim shouldn't be a problem for you if you won early game. If you continue to bully him in lane and instill fear in him, you may even get him to burn his hecarimult.png to escape, which will help your team in team-fights a lot. His hecarimramp.png and hecarimult.png can interrupt your shenstandunited.png

VS

Illaoi

Hard

Illaoi

Pre-6: Step 1) Don't panic Step 2) Tell your team to stop bitching, Shenpai's got this. Step 3) Figure out how you're gonna back up your claim...JK

I honestly haven't faced her too often in the top lane, but the 4-5 times that I have, I've beat her pretty easily. The reason she is set as hard is because she instills fear. If you mess up, it's over. If she uses her illaoiE.png on you, don't run away, just use shenfeint.png to absorb some of the dmg. Early game it doesn't do that much dmg and you can easily regen it. Stay behind minions and block illaoiQ.png with shenfeint.png. Abuse her with your shenvorpalstar.png whenever available. Also always save your shenshadowdash.png for after she uses illaoiW.png, this way you avoid the dmg from her tentacle hentai passive.

Post-6: Not dead yet? Then you've passed her trials. By now you should be tanky enough to 1v1 her with ease. Just keep moving around and continue to shenshadowdash.png her to dodge her passive. You should still be able to out trade her. Also try to get ride of her tentacles asap, she can't really stop you because you easily dodge her illaoiQ.png and her illaoiE.png doesn't do enough dmg to you for you to care.

*Remember this is only hard because if she gets the first kill on you, she will snowball fast.*

VS

Irelia

Medium

Irelia

Pre-6: This match-up can go either way really fast. Early levels, you can trade better. Since she is melee and clears waves faster than you with her ireliagatotsu.png most often, you'll find yourself farming under turret. If this happens, every time she goes in for a cs shenshadowdash.png her to give her 1-2 turret shots.

Post-6: She is a mid-late game hyper-carry like jax. You will be able to beat her early game, but you simply can't 1v1 her at this point. She out damages you and out sustains you in prolonged skirmishes. You should be able to tank more than her but your real time to shine is during the team fights. Her ireliaequilibriumstrike.png can interrupt your shenstandunited.png.

VS

Jax

Medium

Jax

Pre-6: Jax, like Irelia, is actually pretty easy to beat early game. He's squishy enough that your shenvorpalstar.png will make your dmg in trades > or = to his. If he jaxleapstrike.png on you, your shenfeint.png should be more than enough to absorb that dmg (unless he's maxing that). If you see him activate his jaxcounterstrike.png wait for 1-1.5 seconds, then shenshadowdash.png away to avoid his stun. If you do it too early, it gives him time to jaxleapstrike.png to you and still land the stun.

Post-6: If you've shut him down in the early game, by either jungle ganks or you killing him during an all-in, keep it up to DELAY (not stop) his late game power spikes. Once Jax starts to get his core items built, you will slowly lose your ability to 1v1 him. You should still be able to out trade him in quick skirmishes, but you will most likely lose in a prolonged fight. His jaxcounterstrike.png can interrupt your shenstandunited.png.

VS

Katarina

Easy

Katarina

Pre-6: Your shenvorpalstar.png > bouncingblades.png. Your shenfeint.png > killerinstinct.png. Your dmg dealt and dmg reduced from shenshadowdash.png > shadowstep.png. You simply are better than kat in every way. Her only dmg comes from the mark given by bouncingblades.png at early levels. You will out trade her at all times and out sustain her. The only thing she beats you at is her wave clear and kill potential when she roams. Call your jungler to give them some easy kills.

Post-6: Your shenshadowdash.png can interrupt her deathlotus.png. The only thing to take note of is that when she usesdeathlotus.png on you, you can't heal as much since it applies Grievous Wounds. She will most likely try to roam to pick up some kills to try to snowball. Don't let her. And don't get too cocky because if you get ganked multiple times, she will most likely finish you off and she will be able to build magic pen to kill you. On the positive side, she has no cc so she can't stop your shenstandunited.png :D

VS

Kindred

Medium

Kindred

Pre-6: You can't do much lvl 1-2 since she has range and mobility over you. Once you hit 3 you can start to win trades, just don't all-in her. Just occasionally poke her with shenvorpalstar.png and activate shenfeint.png. Yourshenfeint.png will block 1-2 of her AA. If she marks you with kindredE.png just shenshadowdash.png away and she will take minion dmg. Just rinse and repeat and ask for a gank because you won't be able to all-in her and win until you get your first item built before she does.

Post-6: If you were able to get ahead of her in the early game, you should be able to easily maintain that lead. Always keep an eye out for her kindredpassive.png mark on jungle monsters. If she leaves lane, and rift scuttle is marked, assume she's attempting to get it an call your jungler to catch her out. If she removes her mark from you, try to prevent her from roaming. If she can't roam, she can't get stacks of her kindredpassive.png

VS

Malphite

Medium

Malphite

Pre-6: Your shenvorpalstar.png will be able to pop his passive shield, but his seismicshard.png shouldn't be enough to pop you shenfeint.png. He has better lane bully, but you're all-ins are better. Just shenshadowdash.png him under tower a few times and call for jungle to assist you.

Post-6: His ufslash.png can interrupt your shenstandunited.png. You should, technically be able to beat him in a 1v1, but he probably will never fight. He is just a lane bully who just won't die and can give his team a good engage.

VS

Master Yi

Easy

Master YI

Pre-6: First off, this shouldn't even be a match up because Yi is better in jungle (or if you're faker, in mid) because he's a super squishy melee champion. You will out trade him, out sustain him and should in general show him who his Shenpai is. You can interupt his meditate.png with shenshadowdash.png . His alphastrike.png dmg can be blocked with your shenfeint.png.  And you can abuse him really easy with your shenvorpalstar.png

Post-6: Nothing really happens that you can't handle. He doesn't have any cc to stop your shenstandunited.png. You should still be able to abuse him with shenvorpalstar.png but don't expect to win prolonged fights with him in the late game.

*note* A good Yi can dodge your shenshadowdash.png and shenvorpalstar.png with his alphastrike.png

VS

Nasus

Medium

Susan (Nasus backwards, illuminate confirmed o-o )

Pre-6: You can out poke him and out sustain him and beat him in a fight in every way...will he care? nope. This douche nozzle will ignore you and play Farming simulator 2016 like Facebook game. If you're too reckless and try to all-in him because you think you can kill him, think again. He will spiritfire.png->wither.png you and leave you without shenshadowdash.png open for an easy gank. If HE is reckless, and overstays his welcome, then you can all-in him and get the kill.

Post-6: By this time, your shenvorpalstar.png poke means jack shit to him. His lifesteal from his passive will make poking useless and if he's stacked up, he will simple wither.png you once you're in range and bash Ye head in with siphoningstrikenew.png. What makes this lane medium is because you cant kill him, but he cant kill you; however, he has better wave clear and will be scarier than you in the late game.

VS

Olaf

Medium

Olaf

Pre-6: He has a very good early level dueling potential. His passive can be the turning point in a lvl 2-3 skirmish. Avoid his olafaxethrowcast.png as they WILL hurt mid to late game and they slow you. Try to abuse him with shenvorpalstar.png  after his olafaxethrowcast.png  is on cd.

Post-6: Like Irelia and jax, even if you got a lead on him in the early game, he will simply out scale you in the mid-late game. Avoid fighting him and only use shenshadowdash.png on him during team fights before or after his olafragnarok.png is used.

VS

Rengar

Easy

Rengo

Pre-6: avoid the bushes. If he still jumps at you while you're away from the bush, just shenshadowdash.png him to give him minion damage. You will out sustain him, your tankiness will let you win trades, and once you get a kill or two on him, you can 1v1 him any time.

Post-6: Meh... not much changes for you except he can jump at you to take free damage without bushes. He WILL try to roam. Don't let him, show him who his shenpai is and why you should be feared in lane.

*note* His empowered rengarE.png  CAN stop ult. other than that he can't stop you

VS

Riven

Easy

Riven

Pre-6: Just like Rango, you simply out sustain and out trade her. Just don't get cocky. If you mess up once and give her kills, you doomed your lane. Just abuse her with shenvorpalstar.png and if she tries to all in you just shenshadowdash.png her.

Post-6: This is a pretty significant power spike for her. If you see her activate it, just back off, she can out dmg you and potentially kill you while it's on. After it runs out, go back to harassing her. Her third riventricleave.png and rivenmartyr.png can interrupt your shenstandunited.png

VS

Rumble

Hard

Rumble

Pre-6: You should be able to out poke him with your shenvorpalstar.png at first, but that can quickly change. He is (in my opinion) one of shen's almost direct counters. He does better damage than you in sustained fights, he has a W shield that may not be as strong as yours, but he doesn't need energy to use it and it gives him movement speed. Just try to shenshadowdash.png him under turret and ask for jungle ganks.

Post-6: His rumblecarpetbomb.png hurts you alot if you stay in it. The only positive is that he has no cc to stop your shenstandunited.png. If you build that early MR then you should be fine. Avoid sustained fights and try to all-in him when you have Grasp of the Undying ready.

VS

Ryze

Medium

Ryze

Pre-6: This will be a fairly easy lane in early game because Ryze can't afford to all-in you due to his high mana usage. Just focus on farm and poke him with shenvorpalstar.png. If you take more dmg than you'd like, just shenvorpalstar.png-> AA some minions to heal up. If he uses his runeprison.png prematurely on you or for farming, jump on him withshenshadowdash.png because his runeprison.png has a 14sec cd. Call your jungler to help pick up a kill easier.

Post-6: If you got an early kill on him or forced him to recall early so he couldn't buy 3010.png or 3070.png then you have successfully delayed Ryzes power spike. Keep the pressure up on him and you shouldn't have to worry about him. If he did buy the above items, thats when you should be a but more cautious. With his larger mana pool, his all-ins will leave you with more than just a scratch. If you're lucky, they won't know the Ryze all-in combo and you'll won't take too much dmg. If they do, spam your shenshadowdash.png to get away to avoid as much dmg as possible. If you shenshadowdash.png into him while his passive is still up, you'll just end up taking more unnecessary free dmg. Only all-in him after his ryzepassive.png is down.

VS

Shaco

Easy

Shaco

Pre-6: He will most likely try to piss you off by poking you with twoshivpoison.png and spamming his emotes. Don't feed into it, he wants you to shenshadowdash.png him because he probably has a jackinthebox.png placed where he is waiting for you to set it off. Just block his twoshivpoison.png with shenfeint.png then poke him back with shenvorpalstar.png. Let your minions go ahead first to set off any jackinthebox.png he may have placed. Remember that it has a pretty long cd so after you see one set off that he just placed, all-in him then and he will most likely deceive.png away. Buy a sweeper for this guy, it will help a lot.

Post-6: You will still be able to beat him every fight if you continue to use the above tactics. If you think he will use hallucinatefull.png, throw your shenvorpalstar.png before then. The real one will be the only one marked with your shenvorpalstar.png. His jackinthebox.png can interrupt your shenstandunited.png.

VS

Tryndamere

Easy

Tryndamere

Pre-6: There can be two processes but both have the same outcome. 1) Tryndamere will play aggressive in the early game and try to instill fear into you. This just means you should get fed faster. 2) He is smart and knows he can't 1v1 you early game and will farm very passively. You can easily abuse him with shenvorpalstar.png and  absorbe his slashcast.png dmg with shenfeint.png. If he tries to even poke you, and you have more minions, shenshadowdash.png him for free winion dmg. But why stop there? Call for your jungler. Not because you'll need help to beat him, but so you can help get your jungler fed as well.

Post-6: Keep abusing him and repeat the above. If he tries to go macho man on you and dive you with his undyingrage.png, just use your shenfeint.png while running circles around your turret. His undyingrage.png only lasts 5 sec, so try to wait unil before it runs out, to shenshadowdash.png him so the turret will finish him off. A well timed shenshadowdash.png during team fights will keep the cc your team needs to kill him off easily

VS

Urgot

Hard

Urgod

Pre-6: Not much you can do in this match-up. His kit (in my opinion) counters you in almost every way. He has a stronger harass and abuse, a stronger shield and has ridiculous early game armor pen from his urgotplasmagrenade.png. His only weakness is his high mana consumption causing him to go oom early game. That is the time you need to strike. If you can't win the early game in that window of opportunity, don't expect to win your lane by yourself. (Call your jungler to help a lot)

Post-6: The above applies all the same. Be mindful as his urgotswap2.png interrupts your shenstandunited.png. If you didn't win the early game, play even safer and avoid his urgotplasmagrenade.png at all costs. He will most likely have bought his 3070.png  or even 3004.png by now and he can abuse you even more easily and frequently now. If he knows how to use Urgot's kit correctly, he will also take advantage of his urgotterrorcapacitoractive2.png passive that makes his AA and urgotheatseekingmissile.png  slow you so he can abuse you more.

NOTE: Urgot is literally the least played champion currently in league. So you won't face him often (if at all) but if you do the person probably won't know how to play him properly. They will most likely go oom very fast trying to farm and not take advantage of Urgot's kit. In a match-up like that, you're window to win will be larger and you can easily win.

VS

Volibear

Medium

YogiBear

Pre-6: This is a fairly simple match-up. If he uses volibearq.png just use shenshadowdash.png back towards your turret to and you'll be fine. His volibeare.png won't hurt at all (unless for some reason he's going AP). Abuse him with shenvorpalstar.png and don't all-in him until you've popped his ridiculous passive.

Post-6: Just rinse and repeat the above. Don't underestimate the dmg his volibearr.png and volibearw.png can do in the mid-late game. You may lose your ability to actually kill him, but you should still be able to win the skirmishes. His volibearq.png can interrupt your shenstandunited.png.

VS

Wukong

Easy

Son Goku

Pre-6: He is like a more...direct, version of shaco. He goes in head on with his monkeykingnimbus.png->monkeykingdoubleattack.png poke then uses monkeykingdecoy.png to sneak away. You should be able to out poke him but don't make him your priority.  Focus on farm and poke when he goes to farm. Try to shenshadowdash.png him quickly after he uses his monkeykingnimbus.png this way if he uses monkeykingdecoy.png you will most likely still have landed it. Wait for him to re-appear to poke with shenvorpalstar.png, otherwise you'll end up pointlessly using it on his clone.

Post-6: If he hasn't given up his lane by now and roamed elsewhere, just keep harassing him and don't give any hope of fighting you. One thing to keep in mind is that his monkeykingspintowin.png can interrupt your shenstandunited.png

VS

Yasuo

Medium

Yasuo

Pre-6: This match-up is skill based. You can out sustain him, but he can out trade you. Most Yasuo players will build their static shiv first to get that early game crit. Just build a3143.png before 3068.png. Use yourshenvorpalstar.png as often as possible on him as this will proc his yasuopassive.png shield and leave him vulnerable to dmg. If you abuse him enough, he may even use his yasuoW.png. Once that is down plus his yasuopassive.png shield, you can all-in him with ease.

Post-6: Be a little more cautious when fighting him 1v1. His yasuoR.png gives him 50% bonus armor pen for 15sec (which is bad for you). If he uses yasuoR.png on you, just shenshadowdash.png away and keep running to wait out his 15sec of scariness. You should be able to maintain a lead on him until late game. By then, he will have life steal, making a 1v1 almost unwinnable.

VS

Zed

Medium

Zed

Pre-6: Just keep side steping and stay behind minions to avoid his dmg from his zedQ.png and zedW.png->(zedE.png)->zedQ.png combo. (his zedE.png is optional so he may not use that in the combo to poke) If he manages to get an angle to get a direct hit on you with his zedQ.png, use your shenfeint.png to block it. Poke him with shenvorpalstar.png when he's either low energy or his skills are on cd. Every now and then try to all-in him when you have a bigger minion wave to give him some winion dmg.

Post-6: Don't panic, if you played early game right, you will be fine. Just rinse and repeat early game tactics, minus your all-ins. You'll need your shenshadowdash.png. If the zed tries to zedR.png you, either out in lane or under your turret, just wait a sec. After the animation of him and his shadows crossing over you, use shenshadowdash.png in the opposite way you were facing, regardless of where your turret may be(unless of course you're under his turret). This is because he will Always appear behind your champion. If you do this and use your shenfeint.png to absorb some of the dmg, you will be fine and made him burn his ult.
