11.png - You are a jungler.
4.png - I run flash because im used to it and I feel safer with it than with exhaust. You can use try both and see which suits you better, exhaust has lower cooldown and it helps you in duels.


3.png - You should take exhaust when facing champs that can kite you + deal heavy dmg while kiting you, like kindred, kalista, quinn, graves and such champions. My advice is to practice playing with exhaust first because you dont have safe escape without flash.

6.png - You shouldnt take ghost because it doesnt fix shyvana's biggest problem - kiteability.

Ferocity tree

Fury -  attack speed is better than the spell damage because, you are all about attacking fast as possible.

Double edged sword - you dont need sustain after you get machete upgrade and 3% more damage is great on melee champs.

*Expose weakness - this mastery should be taken if you are planning to be a primary tank for your team. Your team will do more damage to your targets and you wont take extra damage from double edged sword.

Vampirism - natural talent is trash because ap is useless on shyvana and scaling damage is bad.

Bounty hunter - you dont have slows in your kit and you'll get few kills eventually.


Resolve tree 

Unyielding - this mastery over recovery because you wont need sustain after your first clear and because your build includes a lot of armor and magic resist, 5% is a nice bonus.

Tough skin - it will help you in first clear and in future fights, explorer can be good if fought in river / near bushes, but that wont occur everytime and you can use extra tankiness.

Veteran scar's - extra hp works well with hydra + you wont build extra lifesteal so runic armor might be wasted if taken instead of veteran scar's

Insight - having smite / flash / exhaust on lower colldown over more hp regen is better.

Swiftness - you need as much tenacity as you can get, you are tanky enough and you dont need Legendary guardian, trying to reduce the enemy's capability of kiting you.

Strenght of ages - this mastery is great because it gives you 300 more hp, decent sustain in jungle after you max hp bonus and works well with titanic hydra. This keystone is better than Grasp because you wont be able to proc Grasp in jungle that much and Strenght of ages works similarly to Bond of stone, having more hp or some damage reduction can sometimes be a same thing.

shyvanaimmolationaura.png - You max W first because it deals more damage to jungle monsters and it helps you in duels / ganks. It has on hit component and you doesnt lose anything by maxing it over Q.

shyvanadoubleattack.png - Max Q 2nd because this is on hit build and by leveling up Q you get more dmg on it and it has shorter cooldown. At the time your Q is on 3-4-5 lvl you should've your sated devourer and the synergy between Q and devourer is great. Every autoattack reduces 0.5 seconds cooldown of Q and when devourer is proced cooldown is shorter by 1 second instead of 0.5.

shyvanafireball.png - Even though this spell is crucial for this build, leveling up doesnt increase its on hit damage(its always 2% of max health) and you should level it last, extra damage gained on higher levels is negligeble. Cooldown reduction is great but debuff lasts 5 seconds and there is no need for lower cooldown in the early game.

shyvanatransformcast.png - Shyvana's ultimate - you should get it when possible. You should learn how to use it properly and it takes few games to get used to it, this spell should be used as engage / escape / finish blow / chasing tool / ... Farming jungle with your ulti on prolongs it unnecessarily, you should let it expire and stack your rage again.

Starting Items

    Machete is better than the alternative. I buy reffilable potion because I always like to have a potion in case I need to heal up for next fight. By going 3 pots you'll have a better sustain in the first clear but after that, you'll have to waste 50-100 gold every time you want pots. After the first clear and getting skirmisher's sabre you wont need potions anymore and reffilable potion should be saved for duels / ganks. I always go for warding trinket because I feel safer and for me, having vision is better than denying enemy's vision.

Core Items

    I go for this upgrade because shyvana doesnt have slows in her kit and slowing enemys while making yourself faster is a good way to fight someone who is trying to escape. Because it deals some damage when smiting enemy champions, getting assist with Stalker's blade is easier, getting 150 gold just for smiting enemy champion isnt that bad you should always try to atleast smite the enemy for the gold. WIth the red smite, you actually need to damage enemy champions for you to get assist. Aim to base with 725 gold to buy upgrade and pink ward!!! Ward one of the brushes near mid. It helps to prevent ganks on mid(since you wont be really gank mid), you help as you can :).
    Because of the sustain provided by your jungler item and your clearing speed you should aim to back(2nd backing) with 1450 gold so you can upgrade your jungle item to devourer.
    After finishing devourer and getting your basic boots, you should start working towards titanic hydra. Jaurim's first will give you extra tankiness and some damage.
    Randuin should be your last item, when crit starts to hurt.
    This should be your end game build. You should upgrade your boots to magic resist or armor accordingly. This build is for average game, when neither you or the enemy team is snowballing.
    Depending on the situation you should get one of these defensive items. You should get spirit visage if they are magic damage team or if their ap mid is fed, in every other situation you should get deadsman plate because it gives you speed boost and it provides cc on 100 stacks. You should have these 2 items on you in the late game, but, if the enemy team consists mostly of phyiscal damage, you shouldnt build spirit visage.
    Which boots to buy? If you are doing well, you got some kills and you are strong enough to duel enemy jungler you should get Boots of swiftness because they will allow you to snowball lanes harder and it will be easier to win. You should get Ninja Tabi if you are against full ad team / heavy hitters, these boots will make you tankier and are best for some champs that heavily rely on autoattacks. Mercury's Treads should be bought if the enemy team is stacked with crowd control. You need to be as mobile as you can, combining this boots with elixir and mastery, you can reduce cc on you for 50%
    Against heavy ap team, one these item should replace randuin's omen.
    When going against full ad team, you should build thornmail instead of spirit visage.

Situational Items

    You should make frozen mallet when you are doing fine. With your W, no one is getting away and it gives you a lot of health. Health works well with titanic hydra.
    You should never get this item. Armor shred isnt that good when you are doing hybrid damage.
    You should never get this item. Your clearing speed is good and other listed items are way better for shyvana.
    You should never get this item. It needs to be stacked and ap is useless on shyvana, buying frozen mallet or wits' end is better.
    Riot ruined this item by making it more expansive and nerfing the passive. You should get this item if you are doing really well and you are looking to snowball the game. You should get deadmans plate or frozen mallet if you are scared that you might throw the game, both options are good, but this item shouldnt be your core.

How to stack devourer? Back to Top

Your goal is to get devouerer ASAP so you can start with stacking. Average time of sated should be around 15 minutes, if you are getting sated past 20 minutes while being slightly behind / equal / ahead then you are doing something wrong.

You should focus on killing monsters that give you a lot of stacks. Dragon / herald / crab.

With devourer done, you can kill both herald and dragon solo and you should do that ASAP. Even in diamond, herald is never warded and no one expects champion to solo kill it. Getting herald's buff makes you really strong and you get 5 stacks for it and ganks should be easier with the buff. Killing dragon is a riskier because it can be warded but you'll usually be lvl 6 or higher and with your ulti, sneaking dragon shouldnt be a problem.

You should always look to chain camps to maximize your efficiency.

When to pick shyvana Back to Top

You shouldnt pick shyvana into certain champions because they can make your game really hard and you should pick shyvana with certain champions because of the synergy between them.

You shouldnt pick her if your laners cant survive on their own because you wont be able to help them that much.

Good champs to play shyvana with


117.png Best champ to play shyvana with, her kit is amazing for shyvana and if played on top her spells will be stronger + she can survive without your help so you can stack without worrying if your top laner is going to feed or not.

127.png A lof of cc, ganking lissandra's lane is always easy.

201.png Stun on autoattacks? Yes plz.

25.png Black shield + shyvana? Unstoppable. Q champion Kill champion

267.png Nami is another champ that works well with shyvana. Autoattack buff + decent cc.

26.png His speed makes chasing easier and his ulti can come handy.

48.png Pillar for cc and ulti to remove armor and any champ is dead + if played on top, he'll be tanky and you wont be forced to make a lot of tanky items.

There are a lot of champs that are good with shyvana but these few are best to play with imo.


When should you pick shyvana?

  • If you are comfortable on her
  • Enemy team doesnt have a lot of cc
  • Your lanes can survive few minutes without you
  • You like to kill dragons with a dragon
  • When you are in the mood to kick PV's ass

Combos and how to fight Back to Top

Hardest mechanic about shyvana is hitting your Q after your autoattack as fast as you can, every single time. To maximize your damage you need to be able to do this, you will need time and time for it to become a habit.

When you are about to fight enemy champion, try to hit your E first as you close the distance between the two of you. After E, turn on your w and attack your enemy, after first autoattack you need to use your Q to maximize your damage. While running towards your enemy you can smite them. If done correctly, even tankiest champs will be down for 50%~ hp while, squishies will be dead.

During extended fights, try to use your Q as before, after your autoattacks, with some CDR + sated, your Q will be up very often and dont forget about it. Use botrk if chasing someone or for extra damage.

Buy 1041.png  and 2031.png , start your jungling at the bottom side of the map, your bot lane can help you more than top and you'll have more health after first camp.(1) Start with smiting krugs(blue side) / gromp, after killing your first camp and getting level 2, you can kill your first buff.

Be careful when playing against aggressive junglers(lee, shaco, kindred,rengar, kha,...) because they can invade you at your buff and potentially kill you and steal the buff. To prevent this you can ward bush next to the camp at 1:25, if the enemy champion is invading, you should alert your teammates and stop doing that camp.

(2)After killing your first buff, (3)you should kill closest camp(raptors or wolves). You should always kill small monsters before you kill the big one, by doing this, you'll have more hp than killing big monster first. (4) Next step is killing crab in the river, while beating the shit out of that trash, you should check the situation on mid and bot, if the bot is under pressure you should gank it almost under any circumstances( your team is on 10% hp and their 90% isnt one of those circumstances), if your mid lane is under pressure you should evaluate if ganking mid is even an option, running into charm / stun is a waste of time and giving their jungler information about your location is a bad thing.

In case you didnt gank anything you should proceed on the other half of your jungle, (5)killing another small camp and (6)2nd buff should leave you with 770~ gold, you should teleport in the base and the first clear is done.

Invading: yes or no?

Usually, I never invade because I dont want to rely on my soloq teammates to go in their jungle and give one of them first blood.

When invaded

If you are invaded and someone stole your buff, dont think about it that much, dont go furiously into their jungle and try to steal their buff, just shrug it off(casually "f*** you" to enemy jungler in all chat is enough) and farm other camps, buffs arent that imporant in the early game, especially blue buff for shyvana.

Using smite Back to Top

When should you use your smite?

You should always have atleast one charge of smite ready for dragon / baron / fights. During your first clear, you can use smite on any camp to finish it faster, when invading you can smite camps to reduce the posibility of being caught in the jungle, but other than that, save your smite.

In late game, smite wolves / raptors for vision, other camps should be done without smite!

I am the one and only Dragon Ball Z. One of the reasons I play shvyana is because my name has dragon in it, if my name was Spider Ball Z I would be playing elise and right now, you would be reading elise's guide. Since my 3rd birthday i dreamt about being a dragon whenever I want and human whenever I want, with shyvana, I was able to do that. When i was 10 years old, in 2000, I started to main shyvana, she was different back then, but her core was the same, turn into a dragon whenever you want, turn back to human form. In late 2007. anime called Dragon Ball Z was published, that anime was inspired by my epic deeds on summoners rift, even though I killed thousand if not bilions of dragon, authors mistakenly took number 9 as how many balls there are. I was Yang prodigy, Yang shyvana master back then and everyone feared me, once I stood in dragon pit instead of that fake ass bird riot calls dragon and no one dared to fight me, I was that strong.

This guide is my masterpiece, after killing 71233 dragons on summoners rift, I felt it was time to make this guide.

Today is 5/1/2016 and acording to lolskill im 36/37. shyvana in the world based on my stats, even though those stats doesnt mean anything and Im not 36. shyvana in the world, it shows that I can play her atleast.skivana.png
