Summoner Spells Back to Top

Most people run flash over ghost, but hear me out. Taric has low mobility, and ghost can help get across the map when needed. furthermore, late game, when you can get distortion boots, you speed can top 600, letting you OUTRAGEOUSLY fly across the map when needed.

Grasp of the undying is basically another addition to this good old taric kit. sustain and magic damage on-hit. its GLORIOUS.

Some people think i should run dangerous game over bandit, but truly, i feel that the gold gain adds up over time. If you're getting zoned hard you still get that 1gp (and you know you're in xp range when it does), and when you trade a hit on the enemy, 10 gold is a nice bonus.

Tough skin vs explorer really depends on what allies you're running with. River speed can really help out in tight games, and basic attacks already have to get past your armor.

Ideally this is the order you'd like to build. Truthfully, you can only run this if things are going great, ie: you versus jarvin or a yi. Best case, this ability order is pure destruction, least sustain, but if you can get visage its ok.

truthfully a spend a large number of games like this:
vs ap.PNG

if the enemy has zone on you, or a dash, or most often- AP damage, you rush visage for sustain, and lame it out till they burn their mana and then you retaliate. never be afriad to trade with your ulty, the cooldown is not that bad, and your main items give CDR, so its often up when you are engaged.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

First buy you wanna get started on your iceborn with the sapphire crystal. Even if you're up against an AP champ, and you're rush the visage first, first buy you'll need that 250 mana to even last it out.
First potion is optional, but since I start stun its nice to have if they try to trade a bit early, and even later when you have heal, sometimes its better to reserve your mana.

Core Items

Usually i rush Iceborn. Its the true core for a toplane taric. it gives you much needed wave clear, mana, adds to your passive with more magic damage (in spellblade & armor both!!), and even has a bit of slow, to make up for how immobile you are.
Against AP rush Visage first, otherwise get it after iceborn and boots. The bonus to heals is why nobody likes trading with a buff manly man, and why lategame taric can 1v5 and, sometimes, still walk away. (or kill a few on the way). also, recall that your Q can heal an ally and yourself at the SAME TIME. with visage, you're always healing yourself more.
warmogs makes your Q heal more, and give you great sustain. just remember to go back from time to time to spend your money.

Situational Items

This one is pretty straight foreward. If the enemy team is AD heavy get Tabi. it goes great on everything taric. If they have hard AP ANYWHERE on the team, or if they can lock you down with CC (THEY CAN, you have no escape ever, even with flash/ghost) get merc treads. honestly, 90% of the time get merc treads.
Most people recommend a frozen heart, but i disagree. one ICE item is enough (Iceborn Guantlet). what i mean is you already have the mana and CDR you need elsewhere. the passive and armor are nice, but not cost/time effective. you want health with that armor. thats where these bad boys come in. DEAD mans give you movement. always get more movement. i'd take it over randuins or sunfire most days just for that.
AHH the thornmail. against a yi, or a jarvin, or any other AA heavy champ, thornmail is your best friend. the armor give you sooooo much damage. and the passive make them literally think twice, and three times before deciding to trade.
If things are truly running well for you and you have money to blow late game these can both be terrifying on you. if no other action you do truly befuddles your foes, get one of the hydras. NO really you shouldn't. but when you do expect pentakills in 2v5 situations. and laugh at your faboulousness.
Too much AP, and you're team is in dire need of a comeback win? these two can turn the tables. Armor and MR?! yes please. and zz'rot for that push power?
