I almost always take E toxicshot.png over Q blindingdart.png as my first skill, but sometimes that depends on what champion the enemy is playing and whether or not he is aggressive in lane. If the enemy is a champion like Riven 92.png or Tryndamere 23.png, wait to add your skill. If your laner tries to fight you Level 1, add Q blindingdart.png. If not, add E or just wait until Level 2 to be safe.

Starting Items

    This will be your standard start against most champions.
    Against champions like Darius where it is important to keep your distance.
    Not recommended. Only take if you believe the enemy laner can kill you early (e.g. Riven)
    Weaker than Doran and pot, but can allow for a longer laning phase.
    Can also start this if you are expecting to take a lot of poke or harass during the laning phase. You can take against champions like Gangplank.

Core Items

    Take Mercury's Threads if enemy lane and jungler deal a lot of magic damamge or have ridiculous CC. Otherwise, take Ninja Tabi.
    Core Items. Essential item for Bruiser Teemo tp be able to duel against other brusiers and tanks. Frozen Mallet gives Teemo a little more beef and the passive prevents champions from running away.
    Pick up if you are heavily winning lane or just for the extra damage.
    I usually would pick this over Rageblade if the enemy team has more AP oriented champions or if their mid laner did really well in lane. Attack speed and magic resist steal is perfect for Teemo.
    Core. I always pick up both of these items if the game lasts long enough. Build order of these items are based on whether your enemy laner is AD or AP
    Not a bad item. Can be used in-place of Blade of the Ruined King, or used with it. Would take if your team is lacking some reliable AP damage or if enemy laner is squishy and you can use Blade to its full potential.
    Kinda like Hextech Gunblade. Can use in place of Blade or can be a pickup as 6th item.
    Example Full Build. Against AP heavy team.
    Example Full Build. Balanced Build. Take Merc if enemy team has lots of CC or if enemy laner is AP.
    Example Full Build. Against AD heavy Team. Wit's End for little resist against AP.
    Either can be picked up against an AD heavy team to replace Spirit Visage or as 6th item.
    Currently a popular build. Lots of damage, but is a little squishy.

Pretty simple matchup. Wait to see if he is being aggressive during Level 1 to decide whether to add Q blindingdart.png or E toxicshot.png. Harass him in lane during early levels. Most Aatrox players don't add Q aatroxQ.png until Level 3, so try to be aggressive as possible so that he will be too scared to even try to fight you. When Aatrox reaches Level 3, play a little safe and be prepared to W movequick.png and dodge his Q aatroxQ.png . If he misses, immediately start fighting him and make him wish his friends never introduced him to League. At Level 6, be prepared for his dive and full combo. If he lands it, flash if you think he can kill you , if not, Wmovequick.png away and fight back. Remember to use your Rbantamtrap.png during trades and to block his path if he starts running away. Sometimes it may be hard to land your R bantamtrap.png during a fight in lane. Rather than try to predict your laner's walk path, place your shrooms over the enemy minions. This way, your shrooms will always activate, and if the laner is near his minions, he will take the damage and be slowed.

Start 1001.png2003.png122.png is does get countered by Teemo as much as people think. He is a fucking tank that eats Yordles for breakfast, but he is not impossible to lane against. The only way Darius can trade with you pre-level 6 is if he lands his dariusaxegrabcone.png on you, so 1001.png is important to be able to dodge his dariusaxegrabcone.png. Make sure to constantly poke him in lane with auto-attacks but always be prepared to movequick.png away from his dariusaxegrabcone.png. A smart 122.png will wait for you to walk towards a minion for CS to dariusaxegrabcone.png you. The second he misses his dariusaxegrabcone.png, turn around and start harassing him immediately. Teemo longs for the moment when a Darius misses his dariusaxegrabcone.png. With such a long cooldown, you have 24 free seconds to make him hate his life. If he lands it, flash if you think he can kill you, if not, Wmovequick.png away and fight back. Remember to use your Rbantamtrap.png during trades and to block his path if he starts running away. When he reaches Level 6, unless you destroyed him in lane, play safe and avoid being below 60% health. At this point, your movequick.png and 3144.png should be able to prevent him from getting close to you to perform his combo. Sometimes it may be hard to land your R bantamtrap.png during a fight in lane. Rather than try to predict your laner's walk path, place your shrooms over the enemy minions. This way, your shrooms will always activate, and if the laner is near his minions, he will take the damage and be slowed.

Start 1055.png2003.png or 1036.png2003.pngWait to see if your laner is being aggressive during Level 1 to decide whether to add Q blindingdart.png or E toxicshot.png.This is a matchup where the most aggressive player will most likely win, so harass often in lane. The only problem with 114.png is her E fioraflurry.png. The proper use of her E fioraflurry.png can make or break a trade. Most 114.png players will not be able to time their E fioraflurry.png properly, so just use your Q blindingdart.png anytime during trades. During laning, it is important to keep your distance so that she can never hit you with her Q fioraq.png. Anytime 114.png uses her Q fioraq.png to try to harass you or farm a minion, turn it back on her and immediately start harassing. Level 6 is the only time when you should be playing a little safer in lane. Her R fioradance.png does tons of damage, so movement speed is essentially to insuring that she is unable to proc her R fioradance.png1001.png should be a priority for Level 6. The best way fight 114.png when she uses her R fioradance.png on you is to W movequick.png and run back while kiting. Remember to use your R bantamtrap.png to block her chase and escape path during trades.  Sometimes it may be hard to land your R bantamtrap.png during a fight in lane. This way, your shrooms will always activate, and if the laner is near his minions, he will take the damage and be slowed.

Gangplank

Start 1029.png2003.png or 1036.png2003.png . This is as hard of a matchup as it can get. In lane, Gangplank's Qparley.png and Wraisemorale.png out-harasses you by a large margin. Trading is almost impossible since your Q blindingdart.png doesn't affect his Qparley.png. The best way to survive his matchup is to harass him whenever the opportunity presents itself. This is usually immediately after he uses his Q parley.png to farm. At this moment, he will be unable to fight back since not only is his main damage source parley.png, on cooldown, he can't even use it to proc his W raisemorale.png. Try to avoid fighting with Gangplank and ask your jungler for a gank.  Sometimes it may be hard to land your R bantamtrap.png during a fight in lane. Rather than try to predict your laner's walk path, place your shrooms over the enemy minions. This way, your shrooms will always activate, and if the laner is near his minions, he will take the damage and be slowed.

Garen

Medium

Start 1055.png2003.png. Just barely a medium matchup. Wait to see if he is being aggressive during Level 1 to decide whether to add Q blindingdart.png or E toxicshot.png. If he uses Q garenslash3.png and tries to fight you, Qblindingdart.png him and start trading with him while using Wmovequick.png to keep your distance. During lane, harass him a lot and never let his passive garenpassive.png activate. The most important thing to remember when laning against 86.png is that if he can't close the distance by using Q garenslash3.png, that means he almost certainly won't be able to use E garenbladestorm.png to damage you. Keep this in mind and make sure to always run back and activate movequick.png when he uses Qgarenslash3.png. Would also be a good idea to get 1001.png early on. When 86.png reaches Level 6, be sure to never be below 60% HP. At any given time, he can 4.pngQgarenslash3.png and then E garenbladestorm.png, before using R garenjustice.png to drop you. However, if he ever just tries to fight you by using Qgarenslash3.png, use your bantamtrap.png to block both his escape and attack path. If you completely destroyed him in lane, might be a good strategy to just let him Qgarenslash3.png you so that he can get up close and personal to your toxicshot.png and bantamtrap.png. Sometimes it may be hard to land your R bantamtrap.png during a fight in lane. Rather than try to predict your laner's walk path, place your shrooms over the enemy minions. This way, your shrooms will always activate, and if the laner is near his minions, he will take the damage and be slowed.

Gnar

Easy
Start 1055.png2003.png150.png is an extremely easy matchup. Wait to see if he is being aggressive during Level 1 to decide whether to add Q blindingdart.png or E toxicshot.png. Laning phase is pretty straight forward. Harass him whenever you can and try to dodge his Q. When fighting 150.png, the most important thing is to dodge his QgnarQ.png and hit him with your Qblindingdart.png. You should almost always win trades. When he is in Mega Gnar Form gnarpassive.png, your W becomes your most important ability. If he tries to use his E gnarE.png to try to jump on you right before his passivegnarpassive.png activates, use W movequick.png to gain some distance and start fighting. His skills are slow and predictable, so you should be able to doge his skills fairly easily. Try to always stay away from walls because if he is able to land his R gnarR.png on you, it's pretty much over. Be sure to remember to use your R bantamtrap.png not only for damage, but also to block his escape path during trades. Sometimes it may be hard to land your R bantamtrap.png during a fight in lane. Rather than try to predict your laner's walk path, place your shrooms over the enemy minions. This way, your shrooms will always activate, and if the laner is near his minions, he will take the damage and be slowed.

Irelia

Start 1055.png2003.png or 1029.png2003.pngWait to see if she is being aggressive during Level 1 to decide whether to add Q blindingdart.png or E toxicshot.png. This is one of the harder Medium matchups. It is optional for you to Max Q blindingdart.png over E toxicshot.pngMost 39.png players don't pose much of a problem since your Q blindingdart.png blocks all of her W ireliahitenstyle.png damage. However, a smart 39.png players will max E ireliaequilibriumstrike.png to completely shut you down in trades. When trading with 39.png, wait to use your Q blindingdart.png until after her E ireliaequilibriumstrike.png stun wears off. Pre-Level 6, the longest her stun will last is 1.5 seconds, during time, 39.png would at most, land two auto attacks on you. After that, just Q blindingdart.png and trade with her. Would be a good idea to pick up 3111.png and a 1029.png early to negate her E ireliaequilibriumstrike.png and auto attack damage. Level 6 shouldn't be any different since her R ireliatranscendentblades.png does almost no damage. Remember to use your R bantamtrap.png to block her chase and escape path during trades. Sometimes it may be hard to land your R bantamtrap.png during a fight in lane. Rather than try to predict your laner's walk path, place your shrooms over the enemy minions. This way, your shrooms will always activate, and if the laner is near his minions, he will take the damage and be slowed.

Start 1055.png2003.pngWait to see if he is being aggressive during Level 1 to decide whether to add Q blindingdart.png or E toxicshot.png. Fairly easy matchup pre-level 6. Harass him in lane with your E toxicshot.png and don't be afraid to trade with him if he engages on you. If you ever see 24.png charge up his E jaxcounterstrike.png, W movequick.png away. When his E jaxcounterstrike.png is over, run back towards him and make him regret waking up in the morning. Be sure to never initiate the fight, because if you get to close, an in-the-face E jaxcounterstrike.png will lead to your demise. The full power of 24.png occurs when he reaches Level 6. In a full on fight, 24.png will win almost 100% of the time, but you shouldn't be too scared. Play the same way as if he was still pre-level 6: W movequick.png when you see him use E jaxcounterstrike.png, and punish him while keeping your distance. Sometimes it may be hard to land your R bantamtrap.png during a fight in lane. Rather than try to predict your laner's walk path, place your shrooms over the enemy minions. This way, your shrooms will always activate, and if the laner is near his minions, he will take the damage and be slowed.

Start 1055.png2003.png. This is an extremely easy lane if you are able to dodge 126.png's Q jayceQ.png (Shock Blast), if not, this can be considered a medium matchup. He is stronger than you Level 1-4, so it is important to hide behind your minions to prevent any Shock Blast damage. Any time 126.png misses his Q, chase and harass him and use Q blindingdart.png if he decides to jump on you. Level 6 for Jayce is not a big deal so continue to harass him, dodge his Q (Shock Blast), and don't be afraid to start fights. Remember to use your R bantamtrap.png to block his chase and escape path during trades. Sometimes it may be hard to land your R bantamtrap.png during a fight in lane. Rather than try to predict your laner's walk path, place your shrooms over the enemy minions. This way, your shrooms will always activate, and if the laner is near his minions, he will take the damage and be slowed.

Malphite

Medium

Start 1055.png2003.png or 1001.png2003.png. With the Juggernaut patch and buffs to 3025.png54.png has become a force to be reckoned with. His Q seismicshard.png basically negates your W movequick.png active, and his E landslide.png basically cuts your damage in half. With Season 6 seemingly being focused on armor, 54.png becomes AD and Bruiser 17.png's worst nightmare. He most likely won't be able to kill you, but neither will you be able to kill him. In lane, be sure to poke him often so that his passive malphitepassive.png doesn't come back up. Since he has such high mana costs, Malphite can't afford to harass you in lane with Q seismicshard.png or E landslide.png, but at Level 6, he can kill you irregardless. Try to always stay above 60% HP at Level 6 and be prepared to W movequick.png or 4.png his R ufslash.png at any moment. Ask your jungler for a gank, if not, it will just be a farm fest. Sometimes it may be hard to land your R bantamtrap.png during a fight in lane. Rather than try to predict your laner's walk path, place your shrooms over the enemy minions. This way, your shrooms will always activate, and if the laner is near his minions, he will take the damage and be slowed.

Nasus

Start 1055.png2003.png75.png ties with 23.png with being the easiest matchup for 17.png. This is a pretty straightforward matchup. Harass him when you can and try to deny him as much CS as possible. The only problem with Nasus is the gank potential that his W wither.png provides. Try to never push your learn because even if you were to freeze your minions at the middle of your lane, a W wither.png will almost certainly result in a successful gank. At Level 6, 75.png's R godofdeath.png makes him a little harder to kill, but even that isn't a big problem. If you played the lane correctly, you could probably just sit in his R godofdeath.png, and still end up with fresh dog meat. Sometimes it may be hard to land your R bantamtrap.png during a fight in lane. Rather than try to predict your laner's walk path, place your shrooms over the enemy minions. This way, your shrooms will always activate, and if the laner is near his minions, he will take the damage and be slowed.

VS

Poppy

Medium

Start 1055.png2003.png. This is going to be a relatively harder matchup. Poppy's E poppye.png and Q poppyq.png can easily chunk you 15% of your health and there isn't really anything you can do about. To win, just play normally, constantly poking her, and when she uses E poppye.png on you, activate W movequick.png and try your best to dodge her Q poppyq.png. That's where all her damage comes from. Sometimes it may be hard to land your R bantamtrap.png during a fight in lane. Rather than try to predict your laner's walk path, place your shrooms over the enemy minions. This way, your shrooms will always activate, and if the laner is near his minions, he will take the damage and be slowed. Unless you completely destroy her in lane, it will get harder and harder for you to shit on her in a fight. You're Teemo 17.png, so any time she fucks up, just flash your Mastery at her. Tilt her as much as you can so she makes more mistakes. Late game, you're fucked.

Renekton

Hard

Start 1001.png2003.png or 1029.png2003.png58.png can burst you down incredibly fast. It is not recommended to fight or trade with 58.png. Keep your distance and try to constantly harass 58.png with your E toxicshot.png. When 58.png's E renektonsliceanddice.png is on cooldown, this is your golden opportunity to put in some poke.Be ready to use your W movequick.png at any moment if you believe he is about to use E renektonsliceanddice.png and all in you. If you used your W movequick.png but 58.png has yet to use his E renektonsliceanddice.png, wait until W movequick.png is back up before going close to 58.png to farm. At Level 6, fighting 58.png is nearly impossible, even with a gank. Use your R bantamtrap.png defensively and farm up or wait for a couple of ganks before engaging 58.png in a fight. Sometimes it may be hard to land your R bantamtrap.png during a fight in lane. Rather than try to predict your laner's walk path, place your shrooms over the enemy minions. This way, your shrooms will always activate, and if the laner is near his minions, he will take the damage and be slowed.

Riven

Medium

Start 1001.png2003.png or 1029.png2003.png. This matchup is hugely dependent on how good the 92.png player is. Try to not fight Level 1-3 to assess the skill level of the 92.png. Any time 92.png starts to Q riventricleave.png or E rivenfeint.png towards you, pop your W movequick.png and run away. At Rank 1, the cooldown of all of 92.png's basic spells are at least 10 seconds. This is the amount of time that you have to harass her after every time she uses her Q riventricleave.png or W rivenmartyr.png. At Level 6, avoid being below 60% HP, cause even at 100%, there is no guarantee that her full combo won't 100 to 0 you. Remember to use your shrooms bantamtrap.png to block her path and she tries to engage on you. Ask your jungler for help, if not, play smart. Sometimes it may be hard to land your R bantamtrap.png during a fight in lane. Rather than try to predict your laner's walk path, place your shrooms over the enemy minions. This way, your shrooms will always activate, and if the laner is near his minions, he will take the damage and be slowed.

Rumble

Medium

Start 1055.png2003.png or 1001.png2003.png68.png is a little harder matchup for 17.png since his Q rumbleflamethrower.png goes through minions and doesn't allow you many opportunities to get close to poke. Most 68.png players will try to keep their resource bar about 50%, so harass early to get him to use his W rumbleshield.png so that he gets closer to overheating rumblepassive.png his passive. Fights and trades are not recommended against 68.png. Look for opportunities to harass 68.png when ever his Q rumbleflamethrower.png or Erumblegrenade.png is on cooldown. If his E rumblegrenade.png is only cooldown, chase him down and poke him while being prepared to use W movequick.png when he uses his Q rumbleflamethrower.png. If his Q rumbleflamethrower.png is on cooldown, stay behind your minions to harass so that he can't use his E rumblegrenade.png. Sometimes it may be hard to land your R bantamtrap.png during a fight in lane. Rather than try to predict your laner's walk path, place your shrooms over the enemy minions. This way, your shrooms will always activate, and if the laner is near his minions, he will take the damage and be slowed.

Shen

Easy
Start 1055.png2003.png. Easy lane matchup. Not many tips or tricks needed. Harass him a lot in lane to make him spend more of his energy on using W shenfeint.png. If you see he is about to E shenshadowdash.png you, Q blindingdart.png him so that when he activates his shenfeint.png, he wont be able to auto attack you as well. Beware of ganks and be a little weary of 98.png's E shenshadowdash.png, but never be afraid to fight him. Be sure to use your R bantamtrap.png to prevent him from running away whenever you want to kill him or punish him for trying to E shenshadowdash.png you. Sometimes it may be hard to land your R bantamtrap.png during a fight in lane. Rather than try to predict your laner's walk path, place your shrooms over the enemy minions. This way, your shrooms will always activate, and if the laner is near his minions, he will take the damage and be slowed.

VS

Tryndamere

Easy
Start 1055.png2003.pngWait to see if he is being aggressive during Level 1 to decide whether to add Q blindingdart.png or E toxicshot.png. Extremely easy matchup since 17.png is basically 23.png's natural counter. A good 23.png will probably try to get to lane as soon as possible to gain some Fury, and when he sees you, will E slashcast.png for an all-in. Even with your Q blindingdart.png23.png's E slashcast.pngwill do a lot of damage and you will be out traded, but after that, its your lane. Auto-attack 23.png when ever you get the chance, and if her ever uses E slashcast.png towards you, pop Q blindingdart.png and W movequick.png, while kiting back. At Level 6, 23.png becomes a bit of a problem. With his  R undyingrage.png23.png will be able to survive your "burst", but your E toxicshot.png, coupled with 14.png and a few well placed shrooms bantamtrap.png ensures that you will have a dead 23.png. Sometimes it may be hard to land your R bantamtrap.png during a fight in lane. Rather than try to predict your laner's walk path, place your shrooms over the enemy minions. This way, your shrooms will always activate, and if the laner is near his minions, he will take the damage and be slowed.

VS

Yasuo

Easy

Start 1055.png2003.png. Fairly easy match up. Continuously poke him with your autos in lane and don't be afraid to fight him if he E yasuoE.png towards you. When fighting him, try to always to moving around so it's harder for him to hit his Qs yasuoQ.png. Save your Q blindingdart.png for when you are sure his W yasuoW.png is down or when he is literally on top of you after he E yasuoE.png you. If you are both on top of each other, he won't be able to summon a good W yasuoW.png to block your attacks since his W yasuoW.png will always be summoned a few units infront of him. Most important tip in countering his R yasuoR.png: Don't Get Hit By His R yasuoR.png. If you raped him in lane, then getting hit shouldn't really matter, but if you lost or you two are even, then you dead. Sometimes it may be hard to land your R bantamtrap.png during a fight in lane. Rather than try to predict your laner's walk path, place your shrooms over the enemy minions. This way, your shrooms will always activate, and if the laner is near his minions, he will take the damage and be slowed.

Yorick

Medium

Start 1055.png2003.png. Early game, 83.png won't be much of a problem. Continue to poke him with your autos and just try to avoid his E yorickravenous.png. When he reaches level 6, if you haven't won lane yet, you dead. His W yorickdecayed.png will hold you up like the animal you are and his dead widow R yorickreviveally.png will whip the shit out of you. Try to be extremely aggressive at early levels to try to get a kill or poke him out of lane. movequick.png and auto attack his minions if he is able to land a E yorickravenous.png on you and you should be fine. Sometimes it may be hard to land your R bantamtrap.png during a fight in lane. Rather than try to predict your laner's walk path, place your shrooms over the enemy minions. This way, your shrooms will always activate, and if the laner is near his minions, he will take the damage and be slowed.

Although AP 17.png and Hybrid 17.png have more burst, Teemo wasn't made to be a mage or an assassin. He was made to fuck shit up. 17.png's true strength lies in his laning phase and split pushing ability. 
This guide will teach you how to play against your enemy laner and ensure that you win lane, and how to split push mid game to give your team tower pressure.

Playing Bruiser 17.png will make sure that you are able to take down towers fairly quickly, and be able to duel any body(s) that are sent your way.

Early Game (Laning) Back to Top

Generally until around 10 mins into the game.
Just do what a Teemo 17.png would do. Fuck with your enemy laner. Constantly poke them in lane and flash your mastery emote. Juggle between farming and poking. When you hit 6, start shrooming up the place. I generally place a shroom teemorcast.png or two at the entry points of top lane. Afterwards I place shrooms teemorcast.png in lane a little lower next to the minion wave. Why? Because the enemy laner will almost always step on them. When they step on one of your shrooms, the slow always you to poke at the freely. If they are hiding behind their minions and not walking beside the wave, just throw a shroom on the minion wave and fuck shit up. 

Mid Game (Split Pushing) Back to Top

Around 10-20 mins depending on how the game is going.

By now, you should have taken the 1st tier top tower and should be deciding whether or not you should continue to push top, or start grouping with your team. This depends on how well you did in lane and how well your team did. 


If you won lane, stay top.
If you lost lane, group with team.

If your team is doing poorly, then you should group with them.
If your team is doing really well, stay top. 

Generally, you should decide based on how well your team is doing.

If you killed your enemy laner once or twice and have higher CS, you should be able to fight any one on the enemy team unless they are 5/0. If you are confident that you can take on any one on the enemy team and your team is doing relatively well, shroom up top and stay there. Poke down the second tier tower, fight whoever they send to defend, and run away when they send more people top.

The way you play late game is essentially the same as mid game, unless you are pushing down towers every wave, you should stay with your team. 

Although you are a bruiser, your main role during a team fight is to take down their ADC. You are tanky enough to be able to get through the enemy front line, and will Ignite 14.png,  BOTRK 3153.png, and a couple auto attacks and Q blindingdart.png, you should be able to take out the ADC. If you know that you can't kill the ADC from an all in, stay pack with your carries in a teamfight, try to tank and peel for them with R teemorcast.png and Frozen Mallet 3022.png, and always remember to Q blindingdart.png them enemy ADC to try to mitigate their damage.
