Summoner Spells Back to Top

If you are going the choad then exhaust is usually better.

If you are going AP or if they have a healer in lane go ignite.

This guide won't really talk about how to go AP unless people want me to put that in. Teemo is in a weird place at the moment. Before they introduced 75gold pink wards to disable his shrooms you could get by pretty easy in games. If the match up is right then building teemo as an AP assassin is the strongest way but the issue is that the right match up doesnt always come up. The choad build is pretty good against anyone (even Panth).

I've tried the way that most people are building Teemo at the moment which I think comes from ipav the teemo main on NA. The core is 3052.png3047.png3140.png then building3087.png3094.png. It is a really good idea and everytime i've played it i've won lane ending it with a few kills and 0 deaths. In saying that you build in a style that doesnt allow you to go toe to toe with champs instead you have to kite. So in team fights you can get your two or three autos before your team win the fight for you and you chase down and secure all the kills giving you a mad k/d ratio or your team dies and you cant do shit. Come late game I'm sure you would destroy guys but you need a team who can get by on half a champ until late.

I do more damage by 10-20 k more damage in a 25 minute game just building tank with laundries. I can build more pressure with zz rot and help secure objectives with stronger shrooms.

Teemo is the most versatile champ I play and writing a guide is very hard because there is just so much I leave out in terms of variations to the builds for match ups. If you have any points you think might be better please let me know and I'll test it out.

New Runes Back to Top

the only one i would change depending on team comps is font of life for demolish.

Masteries Back to Top

The Choad masteries. Grasp of the undying is really good because its just so easy for Teemo to land. Choad teemo with his blind and exhaust if you have it can kite around shrooms and get that heal off every four or so seconds. It also helps you dominate the lane and get that first tower.

Getting W second isnt all bad. Depends what you want to do. If their jungler starts top (which you should try to ward to check) then W is actually not a bad choice because enemy junglers seem to get raging hard ons for Teemo even if he is a choad.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Core Items

Good late game item. Improves your dmg slightly with your mastery but the big plus is that you can regain most of your health really quickly. If you follow the strategy of not 100% committing to fights it's great.
You need boots for movement speed. Not committing to fights and gaining map control is important in this build
late game it may be an idea to get these items in comps where the enemy team lacks assassins. It's rare.
one of these two first on most occasions unless you vs a nasus. If they are ad go zz, ap go banner
your first three items in order. After that you need to get some armour or more dmg. Usually laundries is enough to get you 30 k dmg in a 30 minute game.

Situational Items

The masteries / runes allow you to easily proc and build HP. Your sustain in lane is easy. Early game you can safely farm and harrass pushing them to turret and backing or poking if you have vision of their jg.

This build works best when you have an assassin in your team. You still do the most dmg with just liandries which is usually overlooked by other people. How you set up the shrooms is influenced by the enemy team comp. If they have healers then you need to compress your focus. Youre looking for picks with an assassin or just plain vision. It's your job to set up team fights with the shrooms.
If they have no healing then spread your shrooms across the map. Each shroom cuts near 1/3 of their current health. Each q also packs a massive punch.

While you are fairly tanky you still need one other tankish champ in your team to make it work the best.

Early game - Learn how to proc your mastery passive. be ready with that for trades. Don't feel the need to push pre 6. After six you may need to in order to stop your opponent roaming. Teemo can turtle extremely well and while this may help you gain momentum in your lane its no good if it just lets your top / mid roam to get kills in other lanes.
Once you have liandries you can contribute to team fights and map control.

Mid to late game -

The key point is not to 100% commit in team fights until the outcome is obviously good (you can in lane phase).

Wait for them to hit shrooms and try to have some idea of where their team is. Have an escape route worked out with shrooms and if possible some deep shrooms to clean up on them when they are trying to escape. You get 40% cd reduction pretty quick so running out of shrooms late game is pretty rare. After a shroom or two is hit the fight can start.

Utilise the slows from your items and shrooms to kite if you need to.
Blind is such an amazing move and is also part of the Teemo kiting kit.

The build has several multipliers that add up to large damage -
* The obvious one is the shrooms + Liandries which  does like 500 base damage before the Liandries affect takes place.
* Teemo Q - ends up being about 500 too and also procs Liandries
* Teemo e - great base damage over time
* Mastery / other items - Mastery will earn you an extra 200-300 dmg on the ones that hit. Combine this with other items such as 3742.png3025.png and you earn another 200 dmg or so for each proc.

As everyone will tell you that your damage sucks. What they mean is that you aren't insta killing people like a leblanc might. It's a fair call and even though you do the most damage it isnt as useful because its damage over time (a long time). Its great if you have an assassin who makes plays off your set ups but if not you got to think of how else to make it useful.

Having vision is great because it minimises the dumb decisions you and your team mates make and shrooms help with that.
Something I think people overlook is how Teemo can be good for damage control in fights you lose. 1 shroom can safely take out a wave on minions. If you lose a fight you can protect towers with your shrooms or force already wounded opponents off objectives if they proc a shroom that you can throw at them.

Ahri

Medium

This slurry aint heaps of fun but you shouldnt die to her and her to you. Just focus on your zz rot and setting up the shrooms for counter Ganks.

VS

Anivia

Hard

Her range makes laning hard. She has some mana issues so if you sustain it you might be able to get a tower first. She should be more useful than you in the end but

VS

Annie

Easy

Pretty easy with an exhaust. All in bitches don't really work against the choad

VS

Azir

Medium

Annoying but should be a stalemate

VS

Cassiopeia

Hard

Annoying and you probably need help from the jungler on this one

VS

Darius

Easy

Big D bags. Pretty easy. Most people seem to struggle Ive heard as teemo Vs Darius. The choad build makes things fairly simple if you can keep getting your grasp off. When he swings its a free opportunity to bone him after.

If you are going AP this is a match up where it works. You do need to have speed but. If I'm going AP vs Darius I have movement speed runes and get boots and 3092.png3113.png after that there isnt much he can do

VS

Diana

Easy

Easy with the choad. The exhaust and the blind are pretty key

VS

Ekko

Easy

VS

Fiora

Easy

VS

Fizz

Easy

VS

Galio

Easy

VS

Gangplank

Easy

Easy / Medium. He shouldnt win lane but the issue is there is a period around level 7-8 where you may not be completely stomping him and he can ult bot during a gank or something. It makes bot and jg lose and then you have to carry other lanes too which can be hard vs a fed gp.

Keep out of the way of his barrels and you win. This might mean you need some boots earlier for the extra speed

VS

Garen

Easy

You just need speed. Even if you go just e and w for your skill order.

VS

Nasus

Medium

Nasus can win if he goes AP. If thats the case you got to play around it. Realise that he won't really be going for stacks if he is focused on pushing you out of lane with his e and wither and thunder lords. Either go hard on him for a kill or work on your sustain. Lane will push and call for ganks.

If he goes normal nasus he gets pumped. Your q blocks his stacks
