7.png Standard for ADC, makes killing you quite a lot harder in lane.

4.png Thresh hass terrible mobility without the aid of an enemy champion so this keeps you safer in most situations. Also allows you to make pretty flashy plays.

Pretty basic, none of the typical adc masteries are very useful on Thresh as he can't acquire much attack speed from his passive. Thunderlords gives you much higher burst/trade potential which is what you should be looking for with this build. A simple Hook, Flay, Auto procs it and with the large amount of ad you'll amass, any non-tanks will insta-give, especially if you crit.

Pretty basic here as well.


threshpassive.png This is Thresh's bread and butter. Basically, when you kill stuff, they have a chance to drop souls, (large monsters and champions always drop 1, epic monsters drop 2, and creeps have a random chance to drop 1) if you collect a soul, you gain .75 armor and AP, as well as 1 bonus dmg on your e passive. This makes thresh impervious to AD champs it feels, as you get hundreds of armor points at around 25-30 minutes as well as free damage on your spells and autos. If you see a soul, its always good for you to pick it up, unless you'll die for it, but you can make that call yourself.

threshE.png This is what makes Thresh such a HUGE scaler off AD as the passive essentially triples your auto damage. You want to max this ASAP because none of your other spells scale with this build

threshQ.png This is what people usually think of when they think thresh. It has decent damage and a good ap scale if you get enough souls, and it lets you catch people out very easily so max this second.


threshW.png This is a great, all-around ability, giving you anything you may need in ways of a sheild/disingage/engage tool. However, as an adc, diving head-first into the enemy isn't recommended so you'll only really use it to block a little dmg or save you supp. If the enemy lane is trading a lot I'd take it 3rd instead of 4th, but you'll get little use outta it aside from collecting souls or taking 150 less dmg.

threshR.png A fantastic locking down ability this thing is, but as a marksman, it isn't too useful. In 1v1's this is a gamechanger as it doe WAY more dmg than people predict and the slow is F***ing massive, if your initial combo wasn't enough, this'll almost always guarantee the kill or their summoners. Otherwise, just use it for escaping because anybody with a 99% slow, won't catch up afterward.

Starting Items

    Typical start, really useful for sustain and damage
    Get this only if the early game is rough, makes scaling a bit easier
    This is far better than any other boot for him. as his E gives him vast amounts of on hit magic dmg. this plus masteries makes the damage all but true
    get this as soon as you can, the more armor pen the better

Core Items

    These 3 are what you want soon. go ghostblade flirst as it makes catching people out and escaping quite a bit easier. The other two should be done soon after
    These are you're only crit items, PERIOD. Statikk gives good waveclear and the on hit is really nice for this build. IE just rounds you crit at 50% and gives it a little more power, plus its one of the best ad items avalible.
    Get this at 9, no ifs ands or buts. this can and will save your life if you use it to ward in common gank paths in a lane.

Situational Items

    Get this if they have 2 or more tanks. Your job is to burst ppl down and that is somewhat hard when they have 200 armor. The added % penetration can come extremely close to dealing true dmg as well, even to the 3k health garen
    Sustain items, wouldn't recommend unless you get into a lot of extended fights. bloodthirster gives the most ad and lifesteal so if you dont need the other options, pick this. Gunblade adds a little more sticking power if your burst isn't enough and Thresh does a large amount or mixed dmg so this is probably effective, gives only 40 ad though so it isn't helping your burst at all. Mecurial is only good if they have a lot of CC (excluding knockups, unless they have a yasuo because it cancels his ult dmg) good dmg, nice sustain, and the movement speed is useful, but only get it if CC is a problem.
    Typical Item set, build in order as seen.
    Only if you want more flat pen, from then having no frontline, or if they have a lot of ap, but not much CC

All the other marksman are pretty simple, but it is all about your hooking skill. If you can't land Q's you will suffer in lane, regardless of the campion's mobility so only look for fights if you can q. if you do this it should be a breeze.

Laning Phase against champions with dashes is a PAIN as thresh. If their smart you won't land any hooks as they can just duck into the wave and avoid your q completely. just sit back and farm against champs like this, if you can't get a full combo trading will be a hassle. If you do land a hook, however, you can win fairly easily.


Other champs like this are;

Vayne, Caitlyn(kinda, hers has a waiting period so you can abuse that) and ezreal.
