Summoner Spells Back to Top

Flash is a great summoner spell overall, especially for someone with no blink/dash ability like 4_64.png.   Flash in for a kill, flash out for a narrow escape; It's a necessity.

Ignite allows you to secure that kill that would have gotten away. Great spell as well, but there are some implicit costs to it.

I will now explain why below.

1. Once you hit level 6, you'll want to maximize 4_64.png's full utility. How? With his ult, Destiny of course.  However, consider this: You ult in to gank another lane, that's great and all, but what happens when you complete/fail the gank?  You either walk back to lane or B. What happens to wave of minions you missed? Dead and gone. That's a lot of gold and exp you've just missed. Sure, you can shove lane then gank, but that will just allow your opponent to freeze the lane and leave you vulnerable for a couple of waves.

This is where 12.png comes in, it allows you to go back to lane quickly whether you chose to B or go back to lane.

2. What if you lane against a burster like 7_64.png ? You can take ignite, and hopefully be able to trade kills with her, but it is not in your favor to trade vs her as she becomes a monster after a few kills. That's where 21.png comes in, you can potentially survive bursts, and bait tower dives to perhaps kill them instead. However, you lose a lot  of killing power with 21.png, so pick wisely.

3. Ghost and flash. I really don't recommend it. I think its awfully stupid; unless you have at least decent experience with TF.

4. Cleanse. Very situational, only take vs control mages such as Lux.

Why do we start with Pick a Card but max Wild Cards? First of all, Wild Cards at level 1 does minimal damage. Plus, it's a skill shot that expends a decent amount of mana that is relatively easy to dodge. If you pick a blue card at level one, depending on externalities, it will roughly do 90-100 damage. Give a take 5. DID I MENTION YOU GET MORE MANA BACK THAN YOU SPENT? Anyways, start W. :)

Level 3 you can chose to take e vs melee champions.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

This basically will allow you to reap the benefits of your MS and out sustain your laner
    Not a bad choice either

Core Items

Buy these three and you can stomp all over the enemy carries :) But seriously ludens echo is an amazing item for TF, if you get the chance, buy it. The added burst almost guarantees a kill and the MS bonus just makes you lightning fast
I usually consider these must buys. But given different situations, one must adapt to the enemy. Swap out luden's echo with one of these if you must.

Situational Items

Getting bursted down? The other team is all melee? Get Abyssal Scepter. Not enough health? Always oom? Get RoA. Shitting on the other team? Get Soulstealer. Need to split push but don't have Lich Bane tower power? Get Nashors. Want to kite a melee forever? Get Rylai's.
I would prefer lucidity in most cases, it's cheap and pretty op as of right now

To be honest, rabbadons is no longer core or a very optimal option for Twisted Fate at the moment.

VS

Ahri

Medium

Annoying but managable, punish her if she overextends early on, be wary of her once she hits level 6, always keep a gold card with you.

VS

Akali

Hard

She is made to kill you - -, she throws her stupid thing and dances around in it. Be careful, keep your distance and hit her once she shows up to last hit minions. Playing passive and wait for your oppenent to make a blunder.

VS

Anivia

Medium

This champ is very easy or very difficult depending on your ability to dodge her skillshots. If you can, this lane is basically free farm, dodge her skills, get up close, blue card her, poke poke poke. Remember that she has her annoying egg passive however, make sure you don't dive her when she has the passive up. However, once she hits 6, this lane becomes hard. You're always within range of her...

VS

Annie

Hard

She can still kill you quite easily with her full combo, however you can bully her pre-6. Watch for the little swirly thing indicating her stun is up.  Medium to hard

VS

Brand

Medium

Again, very easy or very difficult depending on how well you dodge. Beware once he gets his ult, and try and poke him a lot early on, (levels 1-3). Play it safe, and coordinate with your jungler if you're playing against a good brand.

VS

Cassiopeia

Medium

Poison.... Hmmm... Do not engage once she hits level 6, poke the hell outta her before that.

VS

Diana

Hard

Lots o' health, jumps gaps faster than a spacebar, one of your bigger counters here. Stay behind minions, and poke her now and then with your W or Q. Have a gold card at hand in case she dives, and coordinate with jungler to kill her ASAP.

VS

Elise

Medium

Make sure to dodge her web, or she will burst you down. Don't pick your card until she jumps up, and have it ready once she lands down. Poke her early on.

VS

Evelynn

Medium

You out farm her, out push her, but make sure to have a decent amount of hp.

Or you can take tango twisted fate and have an auto win :P

VS

Fiddlesticks

Medium

Make sure you don't get silenced, poke the hell outta him and stun him if he drains you. You should be fine here.

VS

Fizz

Hard

Your worst nightmare. An annoying bastard who can negate your gold cards. Play with extreme caution, and poke hard level 1-3. Coordinate with jungler and kill ASAP.

VS

Gragas

Medium

Fatso.... dodge his barrels and you'll be fine. poke him to drive him back, do not let him push you under your turret.

VS

Karthus

Easy

He doesn't do much, except his ulti is annoying. Either dodge all of his Q's or stay with minions so Q doesn't do the extra damage. Push him hard and Gold card-Wild card-Ignite-auto attack for the kill.

VS

Kassadin

Hard

He silences you, he slows you and he jumps gaps like a mofo. Doesn't he counter every mid? Anyways, coordinate with jungler to kill him before he hits level 6, always have your W up before he silences you, so you can trade with him.

VS

Kayle

Medium

Her slow is annoying, but you can certainly out poke her. Out push her, and make sure not to dive while her ulti is around.

VS

LeBlanc

Hard

Jumps back and forth, very annoying, chuck your wild cards to the place she will teleport back to, and you'll land almost every Q. Be wary, play it safe. have W up just in case.

VS

Lissandra

Medium

Your Q is longer, her teleport is slow, W her once she casts it. Her ulti is OP though, so don't do anything crazy once she hits level 6. She'll out team fight you, but you will outlane her. It's an easy lane if you're experienced.

VS

Lux

Medium

She can kill you, but you vastly out farm/push her. Make sure to back off once her skillshots landed on you so you don't take damage from her passive. If played right, this is an easy lane.

VS

Malzahar

Medium

His skills are incredibly easy to dodge, but his ult will destroy you. Once he hits 6, make sure to have plenty of health.

VS

Ryze

Easy

Bully him early on, and you should win. However, you'll probably loose if you try to 1v1 him. Poke him early, flash-gold card-wild card-ignite to secure the kill.

VS

Talon

Medium

He can kill you, but is fairly weak early on. Bully him early, and this lane shouldn't be too bad. However, always play it safe and recall if you are low on hp.

VS

Teemo

Easy

Who still plays Teemo mid? lol.

VS

Twisted Fate

Medium

I know this won't happen in ranked, but if you ever play against another TF... Well, it's up to yourself. This lane may be easy or very difficult depending on your opponent.

VS

Viktor

Medium

Bully him early on, dodge his lasers, it should be fairly straight forward.

VS

Xerath

Medium

He stands there and charges a laser for like 3 seconds right? When he is charging, get in close, gold card+wild card, Stacked deck. ignite. Repeat several times, earn gold; get FED.

High mobility is recommended.

VS

Yasuo

Hard

Yasuo is an intersting matchup, if they know what they're doing it's going to be hard. However, AA to break his shield, and try to bait out his windwall. Easiest way to do so is Pick a card, but don't finalize the pick and wait for him. If he's not patient and gets baited you have plenty of time to wait the wind wall out.

VS

Zed

Hard

Now this lane can go terribly wrong for you. First up, dodge early Q's! If you don't you'll get crushed. Once he hits 6 and he's even in cs, you're in trouble. So harass him early and often, when he tries to farm? Blue/Red card. Walks up too close to you and it's level 3-5? Gold card into wild cards.

VS

Ziggs

Medium

Terroist - - His bombs may be annoying, so make sure you get in fairly close, gold card and start attacking. Throw in the occasion long distance Q, this lane should be decent.

VS

Zyra

Medium

Snare, turret, blah blah. Step on her buds before they spawn anything nasty, Q her, throw in the odd blue or gold card, throw in a few red cards near her. Shouldn't be too bad.

A little bit about me Back to Top

Pick a card, It ain't hard, That blue red gold, The story unfold, Wild cards, infinite poke, Never had proper folks, Grew up as a card master, one of the ace, Pentakill your whole team with maximum haste, Lady luck looks and smiles over me, But it ain't luck, it's destiny.

Hi, this is TwistedFate Alt, formerly known as Insan3Aslyum (hence the signature.) This is my guide to Twisted Fate.

About TF. Back to Top

As TF, you should always try to help your teammates instead of 1v1ing your opponent, you have a huge global presences, and it's your job to make it felt. It's better to lose lane and help other lanes win than to trade kills with your opponent.

Also since TF doesn't have any escapes mobility is a must.

Questions? Back to Top

If you have any, please do ask via comments here.  I will do my best to answer them ASAP, but please do not rage if I don't do it right away, I too have a life. (I really do. Honestly. I swear. I promise.)

TF nerf. 2013. Back to Top

As you guys may know, TF is getting another nerf.

Here is the simplified version of the nerf.
Pick a card: You're getting more mana back off your blue card.
Stacked deck: You loose all of your bonus CD reduction, and gain 15% more attack speed instead now.
Destiny: Prehaps the biggest hit to TF, I mean, wtf riot, you already made us lose the CDR on E, and now you make the CD on Destiny even longer? That's bs. Anyways, the CD is now 180/150/120. (Yes, three fucking minutes for cool down.)

AD TF Back to Top

With the loss of CDR on E, and the increased Attack speed on E, many will start questioning if AD TF is viable again. Let's clear a few points up:

1. AD TF has always been viable, though not as popular
2. AD TF's greatest weakness is it's short range.
3. AD TF works best with Leona/Taric or something with cc for support.

Here it is. It's still rough as I have been procrastinating for a while :3

Season IV Back to Top

With Season III now officially over, I will update this guide to the new masteries of Season IV once it has begun.
Stay tuned!

Edit: Masteries updated!
They hinted about more champion specific runes... I'm curious.
Will changed the build once more items get nerfed or changed.
Edit: Heard something about a new ap item or something stay tuned :D
Edit: Updated masteries.

Lich Bane Nerf Back to Top

Here we are in 2014.

Rito decides to nerf Lich Bane.
This change is devastating, as Lich Bane is the core of TF's damage.
However, in exchange, TF now has a slightly better early game.
How do we adapt to this change?
3135_32.png3089_32.png3020_32.png3157_32.png3128_32.png And potentially a defensive item or another offensive item of your choosing.

Luden's Echo Back to Top

Luden's Echo is amazing on TF, combined with Lichbane you can now instaburst enemy squishies.

Very very good for TF IMO
