Summoner Spells Back to Top

Flash: We all know it and love it, it's our play making try to dodge the second lee sin q, fail to get over that wall free card. Mandatory on pretty much all champs.

Heal: Standard spell for ADC unless they nerf heal or buff barrier

Exhaust/Ignite: When they changed how grievous wounds work that it only stops SELF HEALING (including ignite) if you have your support take heal you will get the full heal when used even if ignited. Note you need to make sure you and your support are on the same page.

Ghost can be used but i'd leave it unless you're pretty good on TF as you need to be good at kiting and locking cards confidently (also it's more of an AP TF spell).

Masteries Back to Top

Since 5.24 after the nerfs to fervor and buffs to thunderlords and the penetration means:Cunning 18 Ferocity 12 is the best dps option.

Going 18 in ferocity means you get Fervor of battle which is really good in extended teamfights, taking out tankier champions and poke in lane. The style of attacking and keeping your stacks up before trading is important for this style of play and it also helps when you eventually get your 3124.png. Or it used to be then IT GOT NERFED.  ONLY GO 18 FEROCITY IF THEY HAVE 3+ TANKS, % PENE AND EXTENDED TEAMFIGHTS MAKE THIS VIABLE, BUT YOUR LANING PHASE WILL BE WEAKER.

Explanations Ferocity:
Tier 1:  Fury for attack speed, you need to be able to AA a lot.
Tier 2: Feast > Double edged sword, lane sustain is good for TF.
Tier 3: Vamparism gives you healing from spell and lifesteal, Natural Talent is weak, its scaling is long and doesn't give much.
Tier 4: Oppressor gives more reliable damage increase, you're going to stun/slow people with pickacard.png, bounty hunter is nice but it won't work every game.
Tier 5: Pick your pene, go for the AD don't be fooled by the AP pene one.
Tier 6: Keystone, fervor of battle as explained above.

Cunning:
Tier 1: Savagery since they changed masteries this really helps to CS, get it.
Tier 2: Both are pretty bad, pick your posion, biscuits can save you and elixr extensions are cool late game.
Tier 3: You shouln't run out of mana on AD TF so pick the other mastery.
Tier 4: You're not the support, go for Dangerous game
Tier 5: CDR isn't really needed, so go hybrid pene, after all you do hyrbrid damage, win win right?
Tier 6: Keystone, Thunderlords Decree is currently the best mastery this patch for most champs, shorter trades and snowballing is more common so it's pretty necessary so yeah. Guess you could go for the nuke one for move speed but let's be real here, you're not gonna use it that much.

YOU NEED ATTACK SPEED

MORE ATTACK SPEED MEANS MORE E PROC
MAX E FOR HIGHER DMG ON E AND MORE ATTACK SPEED FOR MORE E
GET IT?

DONT TAKE wildcards.png

TF
DONT BOTHER
DONT SKILL IT
DONT EVEN USE IT
IT WILL BE WORSE THAN YOUR AA

MAYBE USE IT TO PROC THUNDERLORDS IF THEY'RE ABOUT TO GET AWAY, BUT COME ON THATS UNLIKELY/VERY SITUATIONAL.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Don't get cull People who get cull die in lane. TF is weak early You NEED combat stats So get a dorans blade STAT

Core Items

A 625 RANGE GOLD CARD AND THE THING THAT HOLDS THIS BUILD TOGETHER 625 SIX HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE RANGE POINT AND CLICK STUN
Buy these, maybe get shiv first. But otherwise buy in this order
    Pick one, probably get zerks

Situational Items

Rengar? Zed? Fizz? Lb? These items are for you
I guess if you don't want a defensive item these are cool.

With the nerf to shiv and rapidfire cannon, you probably shouldn't get shiv anymore, wits end or phantom dancer works quite nice as a replacement

General Play tips!!! Back to Top

pickacard.png Can be used and held, you can get a good few cycles of your cards before you have to pick, then you have more time before the selected card expires. This is helpful for running to another lane to gank and they start to run, you can keep it cycling then lock at the last possible time to keep your stun threat available.

You can use your red cards to harass enemy laners by throwing them at minions close to enemy laners.
Remember to keep attacking while selecting your cards.
If you are EVEN with the enemy adc at mid/late game, you can ult on to them with gold card prelocked. Ult onto them and if they don't have 3140.png you should win the trade as they will be stunned. Note if they do have qss and good reactions they may be able to kill you, but if you have E ready to proc you SHOULD win.
201.png + 4.png are a very good bot lane. 2 stuns give good lane bully potential.

When you have 3094.png its a POWER SPIKE!!!! So use it. Stun them, use the range to your advantage. Push them under tower with autos and Red cards. When their bot is under tower trying to cs, get your energised extended range attack lock a card, throw it at them and immediately run back, the travel time means you can get out of tower range before it hits the enemy meaning you don't take agro, though this may take practice to get down well.
If you're stronger and dueling stun them and move forward between attacks so it's easier to chase.
People don't expect the strength or RANGE of the firecannon stuns.
Try to keep 10 stacks of fervor of battle and rageblade before fighting, and try to keep a proc of E ready to throw with firecannon. A lot harder after the change in 5.24 (go thunderlords)

Use your ult to, catch out people mid/late game. Or help your junger/midlane, if you have map presence, their team will be more hesitant to make plays around the map.

Having good game sense and an understanding of champion abilities, cooldown and powerspikes will help you in league in general as well as when playing AD TF

Watch out for lane bullies.

Don't buy cull for first item.

Use gold card to set up hard cc from your support/jungler

Use gold card to FOLLOW UP on hard cc from your support/jungler.

LOOK AT THE MAP - YOU ARE TF - YOU HAVE A GLOBAL ULT SO USE IT.

Split pushing when their team is busy can get you a lot of objectives, just don't be that guy who never groups, again you have a global ult.

About me Back to Top

So why should you listen me?
Well I'm Tsunderebaka It used to be an in joke among my friends when we were learning the game that I couldn't play TF and I'd always hover it jokingly cause I used to be so bad at it.
3 seasons later and I'm a Mid and TF main in Platinum 5.
Here are some recent matches from playing with friends,
*Note*  the games where I had Cull and dorans blade were for the extra gold gen when I knew we could stall out till it pays off.
