Summoner Spells Back to Top

Summoner Spells

Flash
I run 4.png every game. It allows you to land critical gold cards, catch an enemy and can be used to escape in retreating situations.

Ignite
Only take 14.png if you are confident in your laning and KNOW that you can crush your opponent laner, to hopefully snowball. Big lane pressure.

Teleport
Take 12.png to create more plays. Use it when your destiny.png is not in range/on CD.

Ghost
A lot of 4.png players use 6.png to catch their opponent out, chase them down or escape them. It's a good ability because it has a very low cool down (180 Sec.) and is up frequently.

Exhaust
Only use 3.png in specific match ups that can 100/0 or have high kill pressure. (238.png,  131.png ,7.png , etc.)

Heal
I highly don't recommend 7.png because I play a more carry style. Bring 14.png for lane pressure or 12.png6.png for play-making and mobility.

Masteries Back to Top

Masteries

12/18 with Thunderlords and Oppressor is the best setup in my opinion. Landing a Thunderlords proc. in lane outputs a lot of damage. Oppressor so if you land a gold card, your wildcards.png will always deal 2.5% increased damage.

Double Edged Sword over Feast

Double edged sword in a lane that's hard for your opponent to solo kill you.
Feast to not let some chump bully you in lane with his poke.

Assassin over Biscuits

Choose assassin if you're a complete savage and want to destiny.png on top of an ADC and 1-shot him. Or if you think you can solo kill your laner over and over.. and over and over. (not recommended)

Abilities

twistedfatepassive.png

Passive- Loaded Dice: This is a very strong passive. Try to out-CS your opponent and farm whenever the opportunity appears.

wildcards.png

Q- Wild Cards: Can be used to poke in-lane. Use after your pickacard.png.

pickacard.png

W- Pick-A-Card: Big part of 4.png's kit. Use to zone your opponent in lane. Get used to the timing when the card switches so you can pull the correct card as fast as possible.

cardmasterstack.png

E- Stacked Deck: This ability is very strong. Make sure you are always aware of the number of stacks you have. If you can land this on your opponent in lane it will shred his HP bar in no time.

destiny.png

R- Destiny: This is why people even play 4.png. It creates a lot of pressure when it's up. Don't ever look away from your mini-map, when an opportunity to make a play appears you don't want to miss it.

Core Items

This path gives you a good amount of health and mana. Use the mana to wave clear so you can roam.
If your team doesn't look so hot. Step up to the hard-carry spot.
CDR Boots: Big item to get your crucial 40% cooldown reduction. Swiftness Boots: Chase them down boys. Sorcerer's Boots: Lots of MR on the other team because they're afraid of you because you don't play games.
Constantly check the other team's items. Get only if they have MR.
The other team is going to have a bad time. End-game items.
Crucial item. Shreds towers.. and health bars.
Build this first if you are laning vs. AD matchups with kill potential. (Zed, Talon, etc.)
Build this first if you are laning vs. AP matchups with kill potential. (Fizz, Leblanc, Diana)

VS

Ahri

Medium

Dodge her Q in lane. If you get hit with a charm after level 6 it might be a death on the board.

Dodging is crucial in this matchup.

VS

Akali

Medium

Bully her pre-6. Deny as much CS and EXP as possible. Play very careful at level 6 as she has huge kill potential with her  akalishadowdance.png

VS

Anivia

Medium

Punish 34.png if she misses her flashfrost.png. Be careful not to get yourself in a position where her crystallize.png will not be efficient.

VS

Annie

Medium

Make sure you always keep note of her stacks. You do not want to get stunned. You definitely don't want to get stunned after level 6 or she will 100/0 you with her combo.

VS

Diana

Hard

Make sure you build correctly against her. Try your best to bully her out of lane/deny CS. But me sure to dodge her dianaQ.png while attempting to poke her. It's a very strong ability. Don't let her get her reset on her dianaR.png with her dianaQ.png. She will most likely all-in if she does.

Bring 4.png 3.png to play it safe. 3.png When she all-ins. Do not waste it.

VS

Ezreal

Easy

Dodge. Farm. Really no kill potential for either of you in this one. Try not to get bullied out of lane by his poke. You want to farm as much as possible. Be aware that his ezrealessenceflux.png goes through minions. ezrealmysticshot.png Doesn't.

VS

Fizz

Hard

A hard counter to 4.png.  fizzjump.png causes 105.png to be untargetable. Which means if he times his fizzjump.png to your pickacard.png he will ignore it completely. Bully him pre-3 and do not over extend against him. He has huge gap closers with fizzpiercingstrike.png and fizzjump.png

He gets kill potential at level 3.

Try to get as much CS until level 6 without giving a kill. Not giving a kill is crucial for he will not snowball as easily.

Predict when he will all-in and avoid it.

VS

Galio

Easy

You or him should not die in this matchup.

Farm up boys because that's what this lane is about. 0 solo-kill potential for either laner.

VS

Heimerdinger

Easy

Try to kill his turrets and avoid trades. You want to stay in lane to keep him from getting poke on your tower.

VS

Katarina

Medium
3.png would be acceptable in this matchup. Try to flee whenever she throws out her bouncingblades.png as it will bounce from the minions.

Always be wary of shadowstep.png.

VS

LeBlanc

Hard

When 7.png goes for a trade at level 2 make sure you match her exp and go for a trade to even out the damage.

Always look to trade back when she tries her leblancchaosorb.png+leblancslide.png combo.

Do not let her leblancsoulshackle.png hit. As it will always result in her winning the trade.

A way to play this lane:

Shove her under tower. 7.png has a very bad time farming. Force her to use mana as she does not have a lot of it.
EXCLAIMER: THIS METHOD ONLY WORKS IF YOU OUT-TRADE HER.

VS

Lux

Easy

Make sure you dodge her luxlightbinding.png and luxlightstrikekugel.png as it will be her main source of damage. Don't get caught with luxlightbinding.png after 6.

VS

Vel'Koz

Easy

If you can dodge efficiently this should be a pretty basic and easy lane.

Don't let him land his combos pre-6 and try to be healthy when he reaches 6.
Poke and deny him farm.

If you can't play this lane than don't play 4.png

VS

Zed

Medium

Build correctly and doge his zedQ.png. If he uses his zedW.png and misses everything because your footwork is fantastic then punish him for it. It has a very long cooldown. Build zhonyas to negate his zedR.png. If he zedR.png onto you. Walk under tower so you can get some tower shots on him when he tries to AA you to get more damage on his zedR.png. A correctly timed Gold Card here will result in a kill on the board or his 4.png.

Don't be scared in this matchup. 238.png's often make huge mistakes in low elo. Punish them when possible.

Introduction Back to Top

Introduction

Hi my name is Danny, I go by the alias DannySham92 in League of Legends.
I have no history in playing MOBAs and started playing League this year in the month of January. I started with a level 1 account and started leveling. I hit level 30 in a couple of months and jumped straight into ranked. I got ranked BRONZE 2 or SILVER 5 (Can't exactly remember) after my placement matches. Quickly, I climbed the ladder to where I am today. Plat 3 as of 7/30/16.

My goal was originally Gold by the end of the season. Then I realized how jim that easy elo was after reaching it. I quickly rose to Plat. After reaching Platinum 5, within a month I only got promoted up 2 steps (Plat 3) I felt like I wasn't climbing as hard and wasn't playing the game regularly as much as I did in Gold. GGWP for this season. I look to climb into mid Diamond next season. S7.

Mid-Lane is my most comfortable role, but I also qu for Jungle and Top lane.

PS: This is my first guide. Please comment what you liked or disliked so I can improve it.

Laning Back to Top

Laning

When you're in the laning phase you don't want to give kills. Hit every CS and reach 6 as fast as possible to start making plays.

All 3 of your abilities generate a lot of damage if used correctly in lane. Poke as much as possible, but safely. Always take in mind that CS is more important than poke.

Hard matchup in which they have big kill potential over you

Don't give them a kill, you do not want them to snowball.

Don't die for a CS.

Instead, keep your HP bar up and make sure you dodge abilities. Hit every CS and reach 6 so you can make plays to put some gold on the board.

Team Fighting Back to Top

Team Fighting

In team fights try to target high priority targets (ADC/Biggest damage dealer on their team).

Dance on the edge of the fight. Constantly dip in and out to hit your pickacard.png+wildcards.png. Make it very hard for the other team to reach you.

Mid Game Back to Top

Mid Game

Make sure you are always farming when you are not making plays. 4.png Has very strong split pushing abilities. His wave clear is fantastic and he shreds towers with Lich Bane. While split pushing, make sure you are always in-range with destiny.png for when your team needs backup.

Late Game Back to Top

Late Game

With your destiny.png it can be very easy to catch out players that over extend. It can set up your team in a good position to either take objectives or force a 4v5 fight.

Work on split pushing and pushing back lanes. 4.png Has very good wave clear.

Tips Back to Top

Tips

1: Make sure you think before you use your destiny.png. For instance; Can my team secure the kills themselves? How much farm am I losing out on? What is my HP after I destiny.png? Am I going to be forced to recall afterwards or have enough HP to walk back to lane? If so, how much CS am I missing out on? Do I benefit more from just staying and farming? The position of the wave. Is it going to be shoved into my tower? Or the opposite?

2: Farm Farm Farm!
Take advantage of twistedfatepassive.png4.png Is a very item demanding champion if you are looking to carry.

Farm simulator>One-Shot Simulator.

3: Please don't be boosted an miss your wildcards.png after pickacard.png. It's a common mistake. Please...

4: Make sure you use your pickacard.png wisely. If you make a mistake with it your opponent can easily punish you for it.

5: Always make sure you sustain a decent amount of mana in lane with your blue cards pickacard.png. After you get level 6 keeping enough mana to destiny.png then use your pickacard.png+wildcards.png is crucial.

6: Be sure to always take note of how many stacks you have on your cardmasterstack.png 24/7. A fully stacked cardmasterstack.png + pickacard.png in lane deletes health bars. You can also always AA with it too.

7: After you get destiny.png, sometimes you can clear a wave quickly then walk out of vision of the enemy. Your laner will ping MIA and it makes the other team very paranoid or change their playstyle. Just walking into the fog of war creates global pressure.

8: If you're playing against a team with high CC Zhonyas is a good item for it will prevent you from being CC-Locked
