Summoner Spells Back to Top

506.png

When should I take Barrier? 21.png

A: Flash+Barrier is something that we've seen being used very frequently by the pro players lately. They put this strategy to use, in order to give the ADC more tools to keep himself alive (It is more used for hyper carries e.g. (Kog'Maw, Jinx, Xayah, Tristana). Your support must take 7.png for you to take Barrier, to take the most out of it in teamfights or trading hits in the botlane.

179.png

What about Cleanse?

A: Usually people use Cleanse when they play against supports with a  lot of cc (e.g. 89.png). In most cases, your partner will also take heal. Personally, I'm not a fan of this summoner, but the truth is that, it is very useful and can decide teamfights but your timing on using it must be on point.

New Runes Back to Top

506.png
Those are the runes/masteries I've been using, I found them to be pretty good so far. This is something still very recent, after further testing, it can change.

179.png

Why Precision as main path?

179.png
  1. This is the path that gives 29.png more advantages, damage and attack speed, just what he needs!

  2. I chose Press%20the%20Attack.png?width=32 as it gives him a better laning, you'll deal more burst damage and kill threat will be huge earlier in the game. Lethal%20Tempo.png?width=32 is also great, actually I believe it's more effective late game, do not discard this option, I feel it can do very good things with his twitchfullautomatic.pngFleet%20Footwork.png?width=32 is just no match for the other 2 options, it gives you some sustain, but you'll lack the damage.

  3. Triumph.png?width=32 is my favorite, I went straight for it, it just gives you so much when you have an assist or kill. You'll be able to survive a bunch of times due to this rune! Overheal.png?width=32 can be used if you have a healer as support, it isn't bad at all! As for Presence%20of%20Mind.png?width=32, even if 29.png is sometimes mana hungry, it really won't help much.

  4. Legend%20Alacrity.png?width=32 is the way to go, you can't get just enough attack speed, the more the better! Legend%20Tenacity.png?width=32 gives you extra tenacity, I believe it won't be that advantageous. Legend%20Bloodline.png?width=32 gives you some lifesteal, but doesn't compare to the attack speed option. Go for Legend%20Alacrity.png?width=32, no doubt!

  5. This one is the most debatable, Coup%20De%20Grace.png?width=32 was my choice and is the most used by players at the moment. It'll just give you the extra damage you need to finish off your opponents! Cut%20Down.png?width=32 can also be very beneficial, especially against heavy tanky team. Last%20Stand.png?width=32 I haven't seen this one much, I don't believe it can beat the other 2, but it can give you the surprise effect, as you get low on health, you'll deal more damage.
179.png

Why Sorcery as secondary path?
179.png

  1.  Well, after analyzing all the possible secondary paths, I found out that Sorcery is the one that'll give you the most (this is based on my playstyle).

  2. Celerity.png?width=32 was the choice I made after all the tests. It gives you some extra AD based on your movement speed. As we build some movement speed, it works pretty well adding 1.5% bonus movement speed. Manaflow%20Band.png?width=32 isn't useless on you, but doesn't give you much of an advantage. The%20Ultimate%20Hat.png?width=32 will lower your ultimate CD, but to be honest, it isn't really necessary and you'll take much more from Celerity.png?width=32Transcendence.png?width=32 gives you some CDR at 10min, it isn't bad at all, but I feel that it is just unnecessary, not ideal for 29.pngAbsolute%20Focus.png?width=32 gives you some extra AD, can be compared to Celerity.png?width=32, but just when you are above 70% health.

  3. Finally, I've chosen Gathering%20Storm.png?width=32, this gives you just so much late game, you're already a monster after 30 min mark, and with this rune, you'll be even more of a threat! Scorch.png?width=32 is not really an option here, gives some extra damage whenever you use a spell, but doesn't do much for you to be honest. Waterwalking.png?width=32 you can consider this one if jungling, but still I'm not really sure about as I didn't test while jungling.

Passive_upd.jpg

  • Very strong passive, as it allows you to do continuous damage to your enemies, as it stacks, your opponents will take more damage then what they think.

    Q_upd.jpg

  • This one is the ability that characterizes this champion the most. Use it especially for positioning and to surprise your enemies. You can catch a lot of people off guard with this ability, use it wisely!

  • It's CD resets with kills/assists.

    W_upd.jpg

  • Helps you to zone enemies early on.

  • Very good tool to stack your passive and nuke your enemies with E.

  • Can be thrown from far when using your ultimate.

    E_upd.jpg

  • This is your main damage, stack your passive and use it, it'll deal a huge amount of damage.

  • Beware, as it consumes quite a fair bit of your mana, use it wisely.

    R_upd.jpg

  • This is 29.png's ultimate weapon, it can exterminate an entire team, all you need to do is be very well positioned, use twitchhideinshadows.png wisely in order to take the most out of this ability.

  • twitchfullautomatic.png has enough power to determine the outcome of your teamfights, with its huge attack range and AoE damage.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

    Most common start.
This start can be used against heavy bullies.

Core Items

This is definitely your core. You should have a BF before completing Hurricane.
I really like to go for Shiv after IE. It gives you a lot of critical chance and your ultimate will wipe them out. Canon is also an option.
Pick one depending on their combo. Mortal Reminder will be a better choice against a team with a lot of healing abilities.
Your final build should look something like this.

Situational Items

Take QSS against heavy CC teams.
Very good option, gives you some boost for your next timefight.
Might be a very good choice against heavy AP team.

VS

Alistar

Medium

He's always a kill threat, beware of his headbutt.png+pulverize.png combo, it can be deadly. Be sure to know what your support can do in case you get hit by his combo. Whenever he tries to farm with 3302.png, try to poke him a little. Use 4.png to dodge his headbutt.png whenever you'll if you don't, you need good reflexes though.

VS

Annie

Medium
This isn't an usual support anymore, but if you find one, just try to push the lane early on and get ahead on levels. Beware whenever she has the stun ready. And at level 6, respect her damage even if you're ahead, she can destroy you easily. Keep your finger on 4.png, if you're fast enough, you can avoid her infernalguardian.png  and she won't be as much of a threat anymore. The most important thing is to pay attention to her stun, when she still has a long way to get it, you can trade.

VS

Ashe

Medium

She has a lot of poke, stay behind your minions. If you do, you can win trades, especially long ones. When she hits 6, be careful in lane, if you get hit, you're probably a dead man.

VS

Bard

Medium

He might be quite hard, his damage early on his an absurd and you'll probably get poked here. Don't underestimate him, if your lane can't outdamage theirs, go for 1054.png.

VS

Blitzcrank

Medium

He's probably one of the deadliest supports you'll play against, he's constantly a kill threat. Best advice is, stay behind your minions, if you're pushing, don't hit the turret way too much or he can catch you off guard.

VS

Braum

Easy

Dangerous champion, but if you can keep a distance from him, you'll be fine. Stay behind your cs to avoid his braumq.png. Beware of his minions position as he can jump to them using braumw.png.

VS

Caitlyn

Hard

She'll be very hard to lane against, she has a lot of poke and you'll probably find yourself farming under the turret, which is perfectly fine. The longer the game gets, the stronger you'll be. 1054.png might be a good choice here.

VS

Corki

Easy

He isn't really a hard champion to lane against, you can trade with him and be victorious. But, be careful, when he buys 3057.png, he can surprise you with his damage.

VS

Draven

Medium

Heavy damage champion, but you can use your twitchvenomcask.png to where his axes are going and poke him. The one who gets the first kill will snowball the lane. Be careful with direct trades.

VS

Ezreal

Easy

You should be fine against him as long as you can dodge his ezrealmysticshot.png, stay behind your minions. You deal more damage than him, don't be afraid to trade blows.

VS

Fiddlesticks

Easy

Boring to play against, but you have the damage level 2 to finish him off with the help of your support. Don't be afraid of him, but respect when he hits 6, always keep a good vision of the map.

VS

Janna

Easy
Janna is one of the best supports in this game. Trick is to avoid any trades whenever she shields her ADC. If she wastes shield don't be afraid and damage them. They'll lack sustain and you'll be likely to win those trades, and consequently the lane. If you have an aggressive support go for a level 2 kill on her.

VS

Jhin

Medium

It's very important to dodge when he AA+jhinw.png, this combo will root you. As long as you can dodge this, you should be fine, also if you get 1 kill he's done. You deal mroe damage than him early game, don't be afraid to trade.

VS

Jinx

Medium

Whenever she switches to rocket launcher, use your twitchvenomcask.png on her and try some hits as she'll try to hit you also. With that you should be able to win trades.

VS

Kalista

Hard

Very hard to play against, she'll try to kill you early on and she outdamages you. Don't try long trades, you'll lose all of them. Play safe, farm and try something after 6. If your support can cc her, just twitchvenomcask.png and do some hits, if you win the first trades, you'll be fine.

VS

Karma

Medium

She pokes a lot and can chase you with her karmaspiritbind.png. Try to play behind your minions to avoid her karmaq.png and respect her positioning, she deals a huge amount of damage.

VS

Kog'Maw

Medium

Just do not trade whenever his kogmawbioarcanebarrage.png is on! If you poke him when kogmawbioarcanebarrage.png is on CD, you should be good. Since he has no escape, you can try to surprise him sometimes with your twitchhideinshadows.png and with the help of your support.

VS

Leona

Hard
89.png is a chain CC champion, try to dodge her leonazenithblade.png and you should be fine pre 6. Punish her whenever she misses leonazenithblade.png. After 6, be careful with her leonasolarflare.png, it has extremely long range. She's especially strong now with the new runes, do not underestimate her damage!

VS

Lucian

Hard

Very strong champion overall, you have to be aware of when he uses an ability and wastes passive, only in this situation you can trade.

VS

Lulu

Easy

She pokes a lot, you can't underestimate her, but you should be fine farming. If you get ahead just a little, she'll be an easy target for you.

VS

Miss Fortune

Medium

She seems do to very well with the new runes. Try to play alongside your minions so she can't deal damage to you with her missfortunericochetshot.png. Try to take advantage of her having no escape ability.

VS

Morgana

Easy

As long as you can dodge her darkbindingmissile.png , you should be fine and able to farm safely. You can try to punish whenever she misses darkbindingmissile.png.

VS

Nami

Medium

Annoying champion, she deals a lot of damage and her namiw.png. Your ability to dodge her namiq.png will decide your trades! She's very squishy and an easy target if your support is aggressive.

VS

Rakan

Medium

You'll struggle a little to dodge his rakanw.png, but if you can he won't be a threat in lane. Although, on teamfights he might get to you. I would recommend getting a 3140.png.

VS

Sivir

Easy

She can push your lane very hard and make you stay under your turret, but she won't be much of a threat. As long as you can farm, you'll be fine. She also has no escape, try to catch her offguard with your twitchhideinshadows.png.

VS

Sona

Medium

A lot of damage, good sustain, this champion is a pain in the ass. Hard to win trades against her. I recommend going with 1054.png if you have a passive lane.

VS

Soraka

Easy

You can easily kill her, pay attention to her sorakaq.png and try to dodge it. She's very susceptible to ganks. Go for 3123.png as first item.

VS

Tahm Kench

Medium

As long as you don't get hit by his tahmkenchq.png, you'll be ok. Be careful when fighting, if he hits you 3 times, he can tahmkenchw.png you and you'll most likely die.

VS

Taric

Medium

Your ability to dodge his stun will most likely decide your trades, but you should be able to farm nicely.

VS

Thresh

Medium

Getting hit by threshq.png is almost a death sentence. Try to play behind your minions, don't be afraid to lose a minion or 2 if that'll keep you in position.

VS

Tristana

Easy

Never trade when she uses tristanae.png on you. Whenever you see this ability on CD, you can try to deal some damage, otherwise just farm and leave the plays to your support and jungler. One mistake and your lane is done.

VS

Varus

Hard

He deals more damage then you. Don't try long trades, he'll win. If he misses varuse.png, try to hit him a little as the CD is long.

VS

Vayne

Easy

She's very weak early, you should be able to outdamage her easily.
Use your twitchhideinshadows.png to position yourself wisely, where she can't vaynecondemn.png you, if you do that, you should be able to destroy her in lane.

VS

Xayah

Medium

Very strong champion, try to dodge her feathers, if she fails xayahe.png, you'll win the trade. Always beware on where her feather are!

Supports Synergies Back to Top

506.png

God Tier

412.png201.png89.png

  • 412.png has almost everything, he can catch your enemies and get you just enough time to kill your enemies. He's also very good when escaping from ganks. One of the best partners you can get when laning. In conclusion, he can peel and engage, and that's just perfect!

179.png

  • 201.png is a very solid support and similar to 412.png in a sense where he can engage and also cover you pretty well with his shield. Your damage in combination with this passive will be just amazing.

    179.png

  • 89.png was in the shadows for a while, but now she returned. With the new runes, she deals damage out of this world and she can keep a target locked enough time for you to stack up your passive and retaliate them! One of the best support at the moment.

    179.png

    High Tier

    40.png37.png117.png

  • 40.png is one of the best supports in this game, she has a very good peel and she'll make you really feel like an hyper carry. They'll often underestimate your damage, but with 40.png's shield, you might surprise them.

    179.png

  • 37.png has a lot of damage early game, she can allow you to farm by poking your enemies. When you both hit 6, if she lands her ultimate, you can twitchfullautomatic.png freely and grab some kills. It's really a deadly combination!

    179.png

  • 117.png has one of the strongest peels in this game, if you get ahead just by a bit, you'll be unstoppable. It'll be very hard for your enemy to kill you, 117.png is an expert on keeping the adc alive. Similar to 40.png, she'll make you feel like the hyper carry you are.

    179.png

Don't forget that, at the end of the day, your enemies combo will also matter a lot and what I called  'God Tier' can get completely outplayed by them.
Those are just good synergies, but you have to pay attention to their combo also and pick wisely.

    127.jpg

Playstyle Back to Top

506.png

When should I take 1054.png?

  • A: Whenever you play against heavy bullies e.g. ( 51.png37.png), you should consider this item. It'll give you just the sustain you need to farm and outscale them. The longer the game gets the stronger 29.png is.
179.png

I'm ahead, what now?

  • A: If you get the turret on botlane and you're already a fair bit ahead, you can try to roam mid and surprise them. Swapping lanes with top is also a very good choice. It all depends on how the game is going, sometimes just staying in your lane and catching them offguard to snowball even more and retaliate everyone when you teamfight.

179.png

Early Game
179.png

  • Help your jungler with red/blue buff, but do not stay too long, you don't want to miss any minions.

  • Always try to hit level 2 before your enemy, it gives a very good advantage on botlane.

  • Use your twitchvenomcask.png to zone them and farm safely.

  • When you have 2 points on twitchexpunge.png you can trade more effectively and you'll start being a threat for them.

  • Whenever you have the opportunity to use twitchhideinshadows.png to surprise your enemies and deal some damage in order to get them out of lane, take those chances. You can also set up some plays with your support using twitchhideinshadows.png.

  • When you hit level 6, use your twitchfullautomatic.png wisely, as the cooldown is quite high.

    179.png

    Mid Game
    179.png

  • When you destroy your enemies turret or get yours destroyed, laning phase will be over. You should ask yourself some questions. Is Dragon available? What about Herald?

  • Lets say you got your enemies turret and you're ahead, if Dragon is available, try to set up a play with your jungler in order to secure the objective. If you succeed, swap lanes with top and try to get turret and Herald. If Dragon is not available, go top immediately and focus on the objectives (Turret+Herald).

  • If the other team is ahead and your turret got destroyed, the same still applies. The one who coordinates, rotates better will succeed the most.

  • At this point of the game, you should be strong enough to secure some kills for your team using your twitchhideinshadows.png to punish your enemies that are miss positioned.

    179.png

    Late Game
    179.png

  • This is where you'll shine the most, 29.png is one of the best ADC late game!

  • Most important here is, keep up with the vision and don't overextend farming.

  • Grouping is very important and keeping an eye on objectives.

  • If you feel confident, you can go for some solo plays, you should be able to retaliate quickly the most squishy targets. As I mentioned above, twitchhideinshadows.png is a very strong tool to catch someone off guard, but obviously, you have to be careful to not be the one being caught!

  • In conclusion, late game is your best stage of the game, as long as you don't overextend and stay close to your team in order to teamfight, you should be fine.

Player's Mentality Back to Top

506.png

Pro Mindset

The most successful players all have one thing in common, either they win or lose, they always think "what could have I done better?". This is the key for you to become closer to the greatest players, it's not about how many games you play in a day, it's about what you learn from each of them.

179.png

Tiltproof

The easiest thing to do when you are losing a game is to blame your team, even if you're right, that won't give any help on winning the game. If you really want to get into the next level, try to keep cool and boost our teammates morale.

179.png

Winning Attitude

Everyone is fed in the other team, your team is far behind and the easiest thing to do here is surrender. You might argue that it'll save you a lot of time and playing would be a waste. Yes, you're right, but some of those games you'll actually win, and you'll learn much more from hard games than from easy games that finish at 15min. Just keep focus and don't stop believing. Everyone throws, even the pros.

179.png

Think about this:

If you're one of those players stuck in Silver, you feel like you deserve much more, but you are just unlucky and can't climb, it feels like a curse that Riot put on you. I will tell you straight away there's no such thing, and yes, sometimes we can be very unlucky, but it doesn't last. If you're stuck there, you might've been doing something wrong, the proof is that people boost accounts and they know exactly what to do in order to carry a game and climb quickly. If you find yourself in that situation, I suggest watching some of your own replays, maybe your mechanics are good but it only takes a few mistakes for you to not be able to carry your team. Start thinking, what could have you done better? The other team is silver too, if you're much better you should be able to outplay them in every way possible.

Special: How to get in The Zone Back to Top

506.png

179.png
What is being "In The Zone"?

179.png
  • It's a state of mind where you become extremely focused and hyper productive!

  • Being in the zone is being completely immersed in what you're doing. Losing the sense of time is very common while in this state of mind.

  • You'll be able to predict your opponents movements and see them almost like in slow motion!

    179.png

    How to enter "The Zone".
    179.png

  • Think about what you're doing and your role.

  • Get rid of distractions. (Close the door if open. Being on a conversation will most likely stop you from entering this state as you'll get distracted easily).

  • You need a deep understanding on what you're doing. (Once again, know your role and your opponent as well).
  • Create a balance between challenge and skill. Big challenges require huge skill. Taking a step bigger than your leg will only get you demotivated. (Yes, this one is for boosted accounts.)

  • Be patient, it might take some time to achieve and master this state of mind.

  • Now that you know about it, you just made it easier.

    Flow.jpg

    Flow_balance.jpg
Source: Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, "The Flow" (1990), p. 74.

  • As you may notice, balance is key. Even if you skill level is low, a small challenge for some people can be a true one for you!

(I do not own this video.)

  • Use headphones.

  • Those sounds will help you achieve a focused state of mind.
