Summoner Spells Back to Top

Personally I prefer to use 7.pngheal and 12.pngteleport in my build but I understand why a lot of people would use 4.pngflash. I like the health because it gives you more sustain and because top lane can get ganked pretty easily and I think it makes sense to have some amount of insurance just in case. Teleport like most top laners use is so you can return to lane fastest in cased the unfortunate events of your death occur.

TL: DR Teleport in case heal for sustain.

i prefer death fire touch over thunder lords because when playing veigar the 25% of AP in comparison of 10% of thunder lords makes a significant difference later on because you can stack well over 1000 AP.

Max out Q because it’s going to be the main stacker. I upgrade E second to keep the lane control in my hands because it can completely shift a gank or an all-in. (like trapping them under your tower when they dive at you).I max W because it does the amount of damage if not more as other champion ults. I don’t max E until later because once you have the option of lane control even if it’s not complete then you can at least deal a significant amount of damage that they might retreat or die.

Starting Items

    classic items to help boost early game.

Core Items

    get death cap first then buy warmogs for extra health even though the passive hasn't activated yet. if you are strong in your lane and its early enough to use most effectively buy rod of ages before you buy warmogs to get a stronger late game.
    rylais is to help boost health as well as help keep the enemies slow in a case gone wrong or if you are doing the hunting hextech is for the 35% of AP which will help significantly late game. the rod of ages of course are for if you have time to get the bonuses the more you have the better. the owm is because veigar chucks the hell out of turrets later on so if you get a few seconds of no damage you can completely change someone hiding under turret or to push a lane into a positive situation. if you have time to max out rod of ages do it.
    these should be the four main items plus any situational item or rod of ages if they were bought.

Situational Items

    i like these items depending on the enemies on the opposing team if most of the damage is AP then i would leave the zhonya and possibly guardian angle. if they are AD then i would leave out abyssal and spirit. if they are mixed then i would buy guardian and leave it at that.
    if you want to spice it up a smidge then you can have a nashor's tooth so it dominates towers and enemies and boots of movement so you can travel like the wind across the map.
