Summoner Spells Back to Top

Hello, my name is Ryuzakii the157.png main. I have been playing 157.png since release, and today I wish to discuss my main . 157_64.png is a hardcore glass cannon that can stomp games. He has potential that can easily turn around games. And has one of the best game changing ultimate. Firstly let us talk about summoner spells. 14.png is a basic spell used by most summoners as it can secure kills when you do not want to go balls deep. 4.png is essential for any champion as it lets you re-position yourself and on 157.png you can make some pretty nasty looking plays with it. I normally run 14.png4.png because I play 157.png as a full damage carry. I recommend taking 3.png when you are against something like 238.png to reduce his damage output. 3.png is a fairly good summoner on 157.png as it gives him that little extra slow to catch up and secure his kill and it boosts his dueling potential up. 21.png is an option if you wish to soak up a bit of damage. I would only take barrier if you're fairly new to 157.png21.png stacks with his passive so its an extra bonus for shields. 1.png is an optional summoner to take if you're against a team with hardcore crowd control. Keep in mind that 1.png does not remove 90.png alzaharnethergrasp.png. Please keep in mind that this is an on going project, and if you want me to add something to this guide, please feel free to inform me.

Masteries Back to Top

There are many different 157.png mastery pages. This page in particular is my primary mastery page to take when I do 157.png mid. With this setup, you take Warlord's Bloodlust. I have been asked why in the Resolve tree why I prefer to take Runic Amor over Veteran's Scars. Firstly, Runic Armor enhances 157.png yasuopassive.png by 8%. That being said, his shield becomes 8% more stronger during trades. This also effects any lifesteal you may get on 157.png, for example a 3072.png3153.png3074.png. This makes the lifesteal 8% stronger, as this stacks with Warlord's Bloodlust. Making you go from no hp to full hp in the matter of seconds. Suppose you have a 40.png on your team, her shield on you becomes 8% more stronger on you as well. Veteran's Scars should only be taken when you decide to go top lane 157.png over mid lane 157.png if you want to stack hp with items like 3748.png3022.png3078.png3053.png.

Note: With the recent Warlords update, it does not have a cool down on when you can activate it anymore, however you do lose out on the % attack speed it use to give. So this mastery solves his sustain in his laning phase.

Ferror of Battle is an alternate mastery route if you want to have more damage during laning, and want to dish out some extra damage as you can stack this mastery fairly quickly with 157.png's abilities.

Thunderlord's is also another route if you want to have the early burst potential as its useful for his early game. This mastery makes trading fairly simple and easy because you can activate it with your yasuoE.pngyasuoQ.png and AA combo. This mastery should be taken with the armor pen setup I discussed above. With Thunderlord's mastery setup, I suggest you to take Precision and stack some armor pen with it.

With Undying Grasp, I personally suggest that you stack hp with this setup. Undying Grasp should be taken when you go top lane 157.png. You can still activate it when you trade, and it is up every four seconds. This setup should have Veteran's Scars with Unyielding, and take Swiftness for the extra tenacity.

A very short explanation on how to use his abilities, combos, and how they work. These pictures give a brief explanation to them.

Yasuo Passive.pngYasuo Q.png

Before we continue, I would like to mention in 4.13 Yasuo's W got nerfed. You no longer gain Flow when Dashing.

Yasuo W.pngYasuo E.pngYasuo R.png

157.png is very complicated champion to play. Many people claim he takes little to no skill to play, but I would like to argue that he takes a fair amount of skill to play. One reason is that you need to know the right timings of using yasuoE.png, because if you decide to use it when you have no idea where the enemy is, you can easily get caught out and get punished for it. For example if you're against a 99.png and she forces you to use your yasuoW.png and you decide to dash in the direction towards her and she throws out a luxlightbinding.png, you are basically dead. This applies to any champion that can bind 157.png or suppress him like 90.png. Keep in mind, any form of crowd control is going to shut down 157.png.

For newer players to 157.png, his combo is mainly to auto attack and use yasuoE.pngyasuoQ.png. The sequence that best works for newer players is to yasuoE.png yasuoQ.png auto attack, yasuoQ.png auto attack, and if your yasuoE.png is up on the enemy use an yasuoE.pngyasuoQ.png knock up, then yasuoR.png and if you can, press q mid air if the ability is off cool down then just use yasuoQ.png and auto attacks. (In a simple form, E Q AA Q AA Q R AA AA E).

Important Notes: 157.pngyasuoE.png got reduced to 50% damage bonus damage from 100% damage bonus. 157.pngyasuoR.png was also reduced from 1300 units to around 1200 or less.

Here is a in-depth list of champions that let 157.pngyasuoR.png :

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

If you want to get some extra damage. Also a start if you want to rush phage first item.
You can get Doran's Shield if you want, I would get Doran's Shield if I am going top lane or if I lack some sustain
Yasuo Jungle works, I would do a lot of testing on it however. I do not have experience with Yasuo Jungle, and I do not recall any one I know who mains Yasuo that does. Go sated or warrior if you want to do this path and either go full damage or bruiser. (Keep in mind that you can go any smite you want, these were the ones I clicked first.)
    Standard start on Yasuo.
Standard start if you are against something like Garen or Tryndamere. If you want to rush an early armor item.

Core Items

This is my favorite Yasuo build. You get double life steal items, and the burst damage you dish out is pretty high. With this path, I end up dealing around 900-1400 for damage with the crit chance.
This is an alternate tank Yasuo build. I do not use this build anymore but this is still an option on the table.
This Yasuo build is fairly common. This build is something I recommend if you have some trouble against a champion like Akali. This build gives you the stats you need to survive duels and gives you some huge burst damage. Merc and BoTRK are both life steal items that are really strong together, and because you decided to go this path. Your split pushing increases a huge amount from Trinity Force's passive as well as the insane attack speed you get.
This is an official Yasuo top item path. I would advise using this path if you are against something like Nasus.

Situational Items

Take Quicksilver if you are against a team with heavy crowd control.
Buy any of these life steal items. All of them I have tested and they work extremely well. You can even get double life steal items if you wish.
Guardian Angel is a very strong item. It gives you a second chance to fix any mistakes you did. It revives you with a portion of your hp. I recommend getting this if you think you will die in team fights in the late game.
This is a fairly decent item on Yasuo. Not something you see often enough but the passive lets you block an ability and it technically stacks with Yasuo's passive.
Situational. Gives you the slows for days, as it lets you do whatever you want. Gives you hp as well as that slow. Combine this with trinity force and you will have some pretty insane mobility.
Build Phantom Dancer with Trinity Force. I recommend this path because if you go top lane Yasuo, you can reduce some damage being dealt to you and it boosts up your mobility a small amount. Combined this with a Frozen Mallet, you can call yourself the Flash.
This item is fairly common in the meta for top laners, this is a good item to rush quickly if you want some extra wave clear and push potential plus some extra damage dealt to the enemy that you are dueling.

Keep note, there are some correlated items in this part of the guide that are mentioned in the matchups. Also keep in mind that anything under "easy" is not completed, with anything under "medium" in a work in progress stage and anything in "hard" is completed.

VS

Aatrox

Hard

This is a skill based match-up, as either player can easily outplay the other. To start off, 157.png has a lot of mobility on his side, so you have the mobility advantage over 266.png. The problem is the one on one fight against 266.png. Consider a few things before fighting, does 266.png have his aatroxpassive.png ? Do you have any sort of item advantage over him. Against 266.png, I would highly recommend this build path. 3153.png > 3078.png > 3046.png. This gives you the attack speed you need to duel 266.png. Blade is fairly good for one on one skirmishes. This build lets you maximize your damage output, with the additional reduced damage being dealt towards you. Against 266.png I would recommend taking 3.png because 266.png will deal a lot of unexpected damage, so 3.png will reduce 40% of that damage. You can also take 14.png if you really want to burst him down.

VS

Ahri

Hard

This match-up should mostly go in the favor of 157.png. Some useful knowledge for yourself, 103.png has abilities that are all considered projectiles. So timing your yasuoW.png will minimize her damage output to you. This is a fairly good build path if you want to win against an 103.png. In no particular order : 3156.png > 3111.png > 3022.png > 3087.png > 3139.png. Some advice to win trades against 103.png, timing any/all yasuoE.png will allow you to dodge 103.png ahriorbofdeception.png + ahriseduce.png. Timing all yasuoW.png is a crucial part of going against 103.png, would you rather live or die ? Pick up an early 3140.png as you will need this to break her ahriseduce.png. You can also take 1.png in this match-up if you so desire, but make sure you take that if you are against a full crowd control team.

VS

Akali

Hard
In this match-up, 157.png will have a very hard time staying ahead. 84.png has a very strong mid-late game over 157.png. Against 84.png I would highly recommend that 3.png should be taken against her, as well as picking up a 2043.png to use against 84.png akalismokebomb.png. Getting the jungler to come gank you will make the laning phase a lot smoother, as well as building correctly. Here is one build I can think of that will let you come out even. In no particular order : 3156.png > 3111.png > 3046.png > 3139.png > 3031.png. I recommend taking as much magic resist as you can, because you want to reduce as much damage she will put out with her burst potential. Taking 3046.png over 3087.png in this match-up will work wonders. 3046.png reduces the damage dealt to you by 12% from the last target to damage you.

VS

Annie

Hard
1.png versus 157.png is a highly debated match-up. Firstly, all of 1.png basically counters 157.png. Because 1.png has a anniepassive.png that lets her after casting 4 spells to stun her target. The stun can last anywhere from 1.25 seconds to 1.75 seconds, within this time frame this allow 1.png to 100 - 0 you in the matter of seconds. The fun part is that she can have her anniepassive.png up fairly quickly, making her a nightmare to lane against. Her infernalguardian.png has a cast range of 600 units, meaning she can force you to sit back and it allows her to harass you because you are worried about getting stunned. Also take into consideration, for that even in the early game she has a fairly high damage out put. Her disintegrate.png + incinerate.png have a 80% ability power ratio, with base damages averaging from 220 - 250. Here are some recommended items that may or may not work, because a good 1.png will be able to counter it. Keep in mind that 157.png can STILL win this match-up. In no particular order : 3139.png > 3156.png > 3111.png3139.png allow you to remove any/all debuffs, allowing you to remove her anniepassive.png3156.png will give you a base shield of 300 + scaling with 100% of your magic resist, meaning it will take more magic damage to burn through it. Keep in mind that 3156.png can stack up with yasuopassive.png3111.png will reduce the duration of most crowd control by 30%. For summoner spells, I recommend taking 21.png allowing you to soak up a bit of her burst damage. I could also recommend taking 3.png or 1.png as 3.png will reduce her burst damage by 40% and 1.png will remove her anniepassive.png stun.

VS

Azir

Easy

Skill matchup, since 268.png bird man got a nerf/buff, his late game can out match yours when played right. Farm, and look for easy ganks on him. Remember don't flash his wall force him to use it when you have 3 q stacks and use the final one for the ult, it always goes through with the ult over the wall.

VS

Cassiopeia

Easy

She damages you from range 412_64.png is really good to help you lock her down. To be honest, you can avoid her ult by using E, meaning when she ults E towards her in the direction away from it. If not W blocks most her skills.

VS

Cho'Gath

Easy

I rate cho medium because it all comes down to who can kill who faster, Yasuo most likely will lose late game if cho is really ahead and is fed. You can kite him pretty good with your e and q, Cho is all about melee, just avoid his ult.

VS

Darius

Easy

Honestly, Darius does counter Yasuo pretty easy. I would take barrier to block his ult damage. I would also take a 3143_32.png in case he builds damage. Another good item is 3102_32.png it can dodge his ult easily if used right (So can Yasuo's passive)

VS

Diana

Easy

With the new 3708.png (Runeglaive in general) this makes 131.png Mid or Jungle a huge problem, she can instantly melt you and you can't do shit against it. Even if she doesn't get it, 3100.png will be the other root of the problem, Diana has huge burst potential and it's fucking difficult to win against, a good 131.png will shrek you

VS

Ekko

Easy

I've played ekko enough to understand his kit. Firstly, windwall his q on the way back to stop the extra damage amplifier. When he e's and hes jumping to you, e towards him, you basically trade spots and its useful when he tower dives you. Careful of his W, usually ekko's aren't smart enough to place it behind you, and watch out for his ult, that damage really hurts. EQ fucks Ekko because of the aoe damage.

In this match-up, 157.png has a small advantage over 245.png

VS

Ezreal

Easy

Don't ask me why. If he's Ap Ezreal, start with your E first. Dodge his skills and go all out. 80% of his abilitys are skill shots. All of them are blocked with Yasuo's W. Note since the recent 3708.png enchatment, AP ezreal hurts if you do not stay on your toes, just keep note that his q doesn't proc if but his ult does keep your windwall up for his ult

VS

Fiora

Easy

Old fiora was unstopable with her ult. New one is pretty simple, just group on her and cc her. You need top disable her ult from the get go.

VS

Fizz

Easy

Ok, this raises eyebrows. Firstly, Fizz is very easy to kill. E when he uses trickster and avoid the damage. Q him every time he misses cs or goes for it. Note, fizz with cdr can spam his E and Q so windwall his ult before he melts you.

VS

Galio

Easy

AP galio is annoying af, I don't normally go against one but from the few times I have I was able to beat him with the basic mechanics.

VS

Gnar

Hard
150.png vs 157.png is a very interesting match-up. To start, 157.png can win against 150.png if you make perfect use of the yasuoE.png yasuoQ.png combo. Going in, harass a bit and go back out. yasuoW.png blocks his gnarQ.png and auto attacks. gnarQ.png gets put on a 20 second cool down, so abuse this in the early game as much as you can. 150.png is semi auto attack reliant so be can stack up his gnarpassive.png bar, so using a yasuoW.png at the perfect time to harass, will reduce his damage quite a bit and it does not allow him to charge up gnarpassive.png.  Your best bet is to avoid fighting him when hes in mega form. His gnarW.png can stun you for a duration of 1.25 seconds so what I recommend is to force him to use it near his minion wave so you can yasuoE.pngin the direction either towards it depending on his angel, or to the side also depending on his angle. Itemization is pretty key when fighting against 150.png , so what items should be built then? Well when you fight him you can start with 1036.png or 1055.png. You must rush this into a 3044.png then build into a 3068.png. Then complete the 3078.png and start working on a 3022.png to give you more tanky stats. I recommend taking 3111.png to reduce his stun duration by 30% and believe me, these will come in handy. The build path should look something like this: 3068.png 3078.png 3022.png 3111.png 3153.png 3742.png. You can opt-out the 3742.png into something with magic resist or another damage item. For summoners I recommend taking 12.png 4.png as you will need 12.png if 150.png decides to go to another lane.

VS

Gragas

Easy

I rarely fight this fatty. Anyways, to win lane you have to just farm and play normally. This really depends on YOUR CONFIDENCE LEVEL. Tank gragas is cancer. please ;~;

VS

Heimerdinger

Easy

Donger automatically wins laning phase, but loses late game. His turrets hurt, so windwall the damage and make sure to get a Bloodthirster to get the extra shield.

VS

Irelia

Easy

Her kit beats you automatically, her stun, her sustain, her true damage.. Rito pls....

VS

Jayce

Easy

Jayce will always outdamage you. But if you play it right you can easily beat him because Jayce is weak after switching to melee due to him being forced to either go in or run while being poked/ chased.

VS

Karma

Easy

Karma has strong early damage, then has weak late game. If she e's you and chases you down, let her finish it and attempt to harass you. Windwall and go all in on her for trying to fight the samurai >:D

VS

Karthus

Easy

Simple match up, use E to avoid his q's and use the EQ combo to make good trades, remember a good Yasuo knows how to harass, farm and stay at max hp without losing much.

VS

Kassadin

Easy

This matchup is so easy, you should not lose this. Harass him, deny him cs, and punish him for using his q and ult.

VS

Katarina

Easy

Easy lane. If shes fed it turns to HARD. In order to win this lane, E and Q every chance you get. Poke her out of lane. Show her who's the true Dancing Ballerina.

VS

Kennen

Easy

Skill based, Kennen can trade you pretty well with his q and stun. Watch out for his ult, this shit shreds you fast.

VS

Kha'Zix

Easy

Kha mid? XiaoWeiXiao? Kha is difficult to lane against due to his passive and Q amplified damage as well as his ult granting him his passive proc on you. Only fight him as a group or with your jungler.

VS

LeBlanc

Easy

Her burst is unavoidable most of the time due to her q w r combo. Just rush Shiv and your power spike is > than hers

VS

Lissandra

Easy

She destroys Yasuo in lane. You cannot win this lane even if you tried. I manage because I know her cooldowns. I'll explain how to win. You need to get an early kill advantage on her. Only go on her when she tries to dive you or when shes low on Mana. Remember she has high mana cost and a long E cooldown.

VS

Lux

Hard
99.png versus 157.png can be one-sided almost 90% of the time.  First off, yasuoW.png blocks almost all of 99.png abilities. The core of playing 99.png is to land a luxlightbinding.png and follow up with her luxlightstrikekugel.png + luxmalicecannon.png to kill you. Since yasuoW.png blocks everything besides luxmalicecannon.png, you can abuse her by manipulating the yasuoW.png and minions nearby. Early game wise, I recommend taking yasuoE.png first because 99.png is most likely going to start with luxlightstrikekugel.png. So its best to minimize her damage to you because pressing yasuoE.png avoids the damage. There are multiple build paths you can take when going against a 99.png. The best path i recommend will consist of a(n) 3087.png or 3046.png > 3031.png > 3111.png > 3139.png > 3036.png > 3156.png. With this build path, you get the burst damage you need with 3031.png + 3087.png or3046.png. Also allowing you to capitalize on magic resist, plus the 30% reduced duration on crowd control from 3111.png. Picking up a 3139.png is completely optional, however if you do not wish to get luxlightbinding.png this item will just remove it. Picking up a 3156.png gives you the shield that scales with 100% magic resist, allowing you to also gain its passive of life-grip. Granting the user 25% attack speed, 10% spell vamp and 10% life steal until out of combat. For summoner spells, I recommend taking 21.png because it gives you yet another shield that stacks with yasuopassive.png if 99.png decides to pop it. You can also take 1.png to remove her luxlightbinding.png because 1.png removes minor debuffs. You can also take 3.png because 99.png has little to no mobility. On top of the fact that 3.png reduces the damage dealt to you by 40%.

VS

Malzahar

Medium

Pre 6, you can beat him after 6 you can't. His kit basically shuts you down. Get an early 3140.png to counter his ult.

VS

Master Yi

Easy

Easily the hardest to beat. Yasuo has to be extremely fed to even kill Yi due to Yi's Q. Riot really broke ad Yi when it came to his late game damage output. Note, new Sated item fucks you hard don't expect to win any trades unless you manage to ult him when hes below half hp.

VS

Mordekaiser

Easy

Brazil wins. Enuf said.

VS

Morgana

Easy

Morgana mid...  No need to explain this matchup...

VS

Nidalee

Easy

Nid does dmg, if its AD Nid, she will destroy you. Best bet is to avoid her from getting close, by using your W to block spear and using your E to dash away. Q her when shes close. AP Nid can still shrek you in a heartbeat, be it jungle or mid. Play it smart and shrek her with your ult

VS

Orianna

Easy

Very easy lane imo. She is identical to Syndra, she drops the balls. Avoid as much damage as you can. Poke her with the EQ combo and fall back. Do this multiple times.

VS

Rengar

Easy

The curse of NA. Your damage does not ever come close enough to rengars. Carry a upgraded sweeper to see where hes at if you see the mark on your head... Prepare to get shrekt

VS

Riven

Medium

Riven kinda counters Yasuo in a sense of trading. Her Q out damages yours so really, its easy to bait it out. Its a decent cooldown so when she uses it go in. Her ult is also annoying. The best way to avoid is is when you go all in and shes chasing you, if you already used your E then try to stall it out and E to her and she will R to throw the ult. If not use your windwall at a distance.

VS

Ryze

Easy

Just rush shiv, and poke him hard. Ganks shut down this fucker from "ryzing" to the top.

VS

Shyvana

Easy

Jungle Shyvana hurts, Top hurts too. Avoid this matchup at all costs, when shes got items shes unstopable.

VS

Swain

Easy

You will not win this lane. I recommend you swap with Top. If the Swain is really bad you could win. He has high sustain due to his Ult, and his Snare is easily the most unavoidable. fucking aids, swap lanes if possible.

VS

Syndra

Easy

My girlfriend "shits" on me when we do this. How to win lane properly. Get syndra to waste mana early by dodging her Q. If shes low on mana, punish her!. No one knows his W can block her ult. Well now you do. You can also avoid her EQ combo with W.

VS

Talon

Easy

He can trade well with his q and w, Basically make him waste all his mana. His w, and ult are blockable by your windwall. Fucking use it -_-

VS

Tryndamere

Easy

More like tryhardamere, His kit beats you, if you wanna beat him fight him near enemy minions, it counters his ult because he cant chase you hard enough when you are flying all over the place.

VS

Twisted Fate

Easy

Twisted flakes is pretty simple. Force him to use gold card and keep a big distance so he can't hit you. Make him waste mana early for easy trades later.

VS

Veigar

Easy

I would have put it on easy, but many Yasuo players tend to be stupid and run out of his vortex to get stunned. Remember his R can be blocked by your ult as well as DON'T MOVE WHEN HIS STUNS OUT =_=

VS

Vel'Koz

Easy

I honestly put no difficulty on this. Realistically you can block his Geometry. Just keep your distance. He also has high mana cost. Make sure you deny farm and deny items. He is very strong after Athene's.

VS

Viktor

Easy

He's kinda hard. His Q will be his source of defense. His ult destroys Yas cause it procs shield and destroys it quickly. His E does dmg and when he has 3198_32.png it burns you. His stun is easy to avoid, but the rest of it isn't, you cannot block his Q which is a bug. You can block his E. Viktor's latest updates on his hex core easily beats you, so just don't duel him when he has his 3198.png

VS

Vladimir

Easy

His simple sustain kit beats you. A bad vlad will never keep his E stacks or spam q on you. A good one can beat you. Pray you don't meet one :)

VS

Xerath

Easy

I placed him on the easy side because every xerath I played against got rekt, All of his skills are avoid able and pretty easy to dodge, E E E E E E is your best friend :)

VS

Yasuo

Hard
157.png vs 157.png. There really isn't too much to say about this match-up. Just play around your cool downs and try to out play the enemy 157.png. For build paths, you can go full damage or go full tank. I personally prefer full tank because you can duel 157.png with not a huge worry on dying. For items, the standard tank path will be 3068.png 3742.png 3046.png 3078.png 3153.png 3047.png. Keep in mind, the build varies depending on the the team you are against. For summoners, I'm pretty sure you know that 3.png is a huge counter to 157.png

VS

Zed

Hard

He is easily the most annoying champion. Don't feed him, he deals a lot of damage due to his Death Mark. This really depends how much you practice Yasuo.

Ok, recently Zed got buffed. Laning Phase he out trades you. Do not engage him unless he towerdives you. Trade him for him wasting his shadow that's his weak point.

Here is the legend of all match-ups. 238.png versus 157.png is a match-up that heavily sits on the fact of how each player can play their champion. I would like to start off with saying that a very good 238.png player can easily outplay 157.png because of his zedR.png. In this match-up, 157.png really relies on the fact that he needs to pick up an early 3140.png. This will eliminate the zedR.png damage and give 238.png one less ability to use against you. Against 238.png I would recommend going bruiser or tank 157.png because going full attack damage will still be very good against 238.png, you also want to take in the fact that he can delete squishy targets. This is one build path that works fairly well against 238.png. In no particular order : 3046.png > 3078.png > 3022.png > 3075.png or 3742.png >3153.png. For boots, you can take whatever boots you will need against whatever team you're against. Such as a full crowd control team, I strongly suggest a 3111.png. For summoners, I highly and automatically recommend 3.png, because it reduces the damage 238.png will deal to you, also reducing his base resistances and attack speed. Stack this with a 3139.png and you will almost win every trade because it forces 238.png to play passively or aggressively.

VS

Ziggs

Hard
115.png vs 157.png is an interesting match-up. Typically it should go in 157.png favor because he can just block all of 115.png abilities. However there will be some instances where 115.png can have superior positioning and can dominate 157.png. Keep in mind that yasuoW.png does not block ziggsr.png. Well lets start this off, 157.png has a fairly good good kit to allow him to abuse 115.png if he decides to waste his mana or if he has poor positioning. Remember, 115.png has fairly poor mobility so make sure when you yasuoE.png towards him make sure you toss yasuoW.png when hes a little bit ahead of you allowing you to block ziggsw.png. Its quite funny to watch 115.png panic and burn all of his abilities to get away from you. 115.png has a similar play style to 101.png because yasuoE.png avoids 90% of their damage plus the yasuoW.png is a handy tool to abuse their mana consumption. Lets get into the build paths, first off against most ability power champions, you want to rush either a 3087.png or 3046.png as your first core item, then start building 3111.png and work into a 3156.png. Decide on what life steal item you want to get, I would recommend a 3139.png because it has the built in 3140.png to fix your mistakes if you get caught out as well as the 10% life steal with the extra magic resist. The final build may look something like this: 3156.png 3139.png 3087.png 3031.png 3036.png 3111.png. For summoners, I recommend taking 3.png and 4.png because 3.png will make 115.png absolutely useless for mobility allowing you to quickly kill him, as well as it lets you reduce his damage by 40%. You can opt-out 3.png for 1.png 14.png 21.png.

Strengths and Weaknesses Back to Top

Yasuo Base Stats 1.png

This is a chart of 157.png base stats, I want to say he has no magic resist scaling and he starts off with low armor as well.

                                                                                   Strengths

157.png can go as a  bruiser or full damage and destroy. His yasuopassive.png is what makes him shine, because it grants him additional crit chance at the cost of losing some crit damage. He also gains a passive shield with his flow meter. yasuoR.png is a game changing ult, it gives you the chance to make a turn around when you seriously need it.

                                                                                 Weaknesses

Yasuo is weak to all forms of crowd control. 90.png is one of his major counters, however there are some instances where you can win against 90.png.  157.png needs time to build up his items and power spikes. You need to have lots of gold income and make sure you complete any of the core items in your item paths. Once you get behind on 157.png majority of the time it is quite difficult to come back.

                                                                                 Early Game

157.png has a semi decent early game, 157.png gains a small power spike when you get your 3087_32.png or 3046.png. Once you get yasuoE.png your mobility sky rockets. His yasuoE.png allows him to dash as many times as he wants, but its limited to 1 dash per enemy. Meaning it can't be spammed over and over on the same target. With his yasuoE.png I would recommend that you manipulate the creep wave allowing you to make trades in laning phase and also allowing you to dodge specific skill shots such as 61.png orianadetonatecommand.png as this is his primary mobility skill. For specific match-ups, there is an ongoing development in the match-up section where you can read in some depth on how to play against specific champions.

                                                                                 Late Game

Yasuo is strongest in the late game. His cooldowns are really low, if you have full build you can melt the enemies and snowball on other lanes. The only way to actually win against a Yasuo is to CC him. Trust me it's annoying to be Stunned (Looking at Gnar) over and over again. Always keep your eyes open for pushing and catching people out his 1v1 is very strong late game. Note, Yasuo doesn't gain his original 100% crit chance, with the meta being changed, you need to focus on winning your early-mid game, and focusing on towers late game and objectives. As well as catching out players, and punishing mistakes. Yasuo can be a big annoyance when hes left alone split pushing...

                                                                                Final Thoughts

Yasuo is broken. LOL joking. He is very overpowered. He has high mobility and damage, but requires a lot of practice and skill to play him. His passive does cut his dmg down, but just use 3031_32.png to gain some of it back. Yasuo takes A LOT of mechanical skill, and a lot of game knowledge. You need to know how to jump around from harassing, csing, and outplaying your enemy. That's why he has the kit he has now. Yasuo in my opinion has the highest play making and game changing potential out of any mid laner. He can turn a lost game around and win the game, He can also turn a game from a win to a loss from poor choices.

Pros and Cons Back to Top

Alright, lets go with the Pro's and Con's.

Pros:157_64.png is a very reliable champion. He's a Samurai!. He can carry a lost game if played right. He can 1v5 enemy teams if played right. Great farming potential. A monster when he's ahead in the game. Game changing ultimate. Low cooldowns on his E and Q. My personal go to champ.

Cons:157_64.png No sustain. Low resist scaling. Can be CC'ed to death. W cannot block specific abilities such as luxmalicecannon.png or velkozR.png . W is a long cooldown. Can fall off if not Farmed. Anyone with CC can control 157.png. Put him behind, and he will struggle to get back into the game.

Tips & Tricks Back to Top

Neat little tricks you can do on 157.png that can make a difference in the game.

yasuoE.pngyasuoQ.png allows you to spin dash, that does an area of effect knock up.  And it lets 3074.png activate the Cleave passive. There is a creative thing you can do with yasuoE.pngyasuoQ.png, if you can time it correctly, you are able to 4.png as you do the knock up animation allowing you to position yourself for an unexpected surprise for the enemy. This also works if someone were to 4.png out of it or if 105.png used his fizzjump.png. Allowing you to 4.png  + yasuoE.png yasuoQ.png to still knock them up.

- If you use yasuoW.png and yasuoQ.png at the same time, both abilities have a similar casting animation. This allows you to sneak in a yasuoQ.png towards the enemy and they will have little reaction time.

- You can avoid abilities like a  101_64.pngxerathlocusofpower.png or 99.pngluxlightstrikekugel.png if you dash in the direction they cast them or in a direction to the side.

- You can trick your enemies into thinking you flashed over a wall if you use your yasuoE.png on a jungle camp and they will force themselves to either flash or run around and chase.

157.png can ult off of a Baron knock up. He is also able to on 48.pngtrundleE.png and 34.pngcrystallize.png.

- You can make a fancy outplay in a 1v2 situation. By making sure that one enemy is in the direction of your turret or allies, and you throw your  yasuoQ.png towards that target that you want to escape on and ult. Once you ult move a bit behind the direction you want to go, and press yasuoE.png. This is very effective, and I will post a video of this when I find myself doing it.

- Depending on which team you are on, you can stack your yasuoQ.png with either your raptor camp or the enemies. This lets you manipulate the enemies jungle to see if they have cleared that camp, and to see if they went on that side of the map.

- You can do a fancy trick with your yasuoQ.png and yasuoE.png. First make sure there is a minion in the direction you want the yasuoQ.png to travel. Then toss the yasuoQ.png in the direction and yasuoE.png into that direction as well. When you dash in the same direction, it tricks the enemy into thinking that the distance of yasuoQ.png is reduced. This allows you to get a clean yasuoQ.png if done correctly and you can knock them up and get some damage in. I do preform this technique on my stream, and I can demonstrate it if requested.

- You can yasuoE.png over some walls. The common walls are krugs camp, raptor camp, and wolf camp. You can dash into gromp if there is vision, but dashing out of gromp wall is fairly precise and takes a lot of practice.

Final Notes Back to Top

On a final note, 157_64.png needs his 3087_32.png to deal massive damage. The more you farm, the faster you can complete his build and carry the game. Yasuo relies on knockups, so build a team around him but don't forget about yourself. Just cause one person picks Yasuo, doesn't mean you have to play a set champion. He is easily my favorite champion. I main Yasuo Mid. He carried me a decent way xD and 157_64.png is also the reason why I enjoy league.

Finally, I hope you Enjoyed this guide. It really isn't In-Depth but it explains most of how he is. I will add more and more about him throughout LoL.

About me, I'm a part time streamer. You can catch me streaming league pretty much each day :D. My stream
