Summoner Spells Back to Top

Playing top as Yasuo, means that you are facing a tank champion or a melee fighter, and you are really squishy compared to them. That makes taking ignite with you be a good option, because if you are facing a tank just as 111.png or 57.png is really hard to win trades, but with ignite, you can try to win a lv3 fight or a lv2, if you get lv2 first and all-in. Exhaust is good if you are facing a burst champ like 238.png but ignite is still the best option. I only use 12.png when I feel like my bot lane is not strong enough and they will need help, or when my team has a knock up support, like 12.png and 111.png.

Yes, Warlord's Bloodlust, to me, is the best option for the sustain it grants you after trades, and in trades. I have tried Fervor, Thunderlord's and Grasp of the Undying, but I still prefer the sustain it gives you. Pretty much the idea of using Warlord's is to trade with the enemy with you E+Q(stacked), hits sometimes, zone him from the minion wave and come back to heal. This way, if the trade is short, you didn't lose that much HP and still zoned him from cs, so you freeze lane, but if the trade is long and both of you are like 200 HP, you just heal A LOT hitting the minions and if he tries to cs again, just kill him.

Yes, maxing E first, because of 0,1 CD. And during the first 10 min of game, your E will be dealing more damage than everything else. If you are facing an opponent AND a jungle that you are not gonna use your W at all, you can get a second point in Q and get your W lv8.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

    Standard beginning
Against hard match ups, that has a lot of individual damage, like auto-attacks.

Core Items

When you are really fed and needs to give more damage to the fights.
When you are facing a hard champ to deal with, where you'll be poking and kill it after.
When you need the PD stats, but you are not poking, you are fighting all the time, to the 240% crit dmg is more than welcome
Facing hard CC champs and AP
The shield it gives is good against any burst, so as the lifesteal + Warlord's = outplays and 1v5
Winning=movement Hard lane against AD=armor Hard lane against AP=MR
    My favorite build

Situational Items

When you need to be tanky for your team. GA for hard focus. ZZ'rot for spliting.

VS

Aatrox

Easy

Facing him will be totally fine if you get lv2 first and take as much HP as you can from him. If your ignite is down, and you don't have PD, try to just poke and be aware for his jump

VS

Akali

Medium

A lot of tanky akalis has been played in top. Just get3046.png, save a 2043.png for herakalismokebomb.png and get a 3065.png as third item, that will help to 1v1 her

VS

Aurelion Sol

Easy

If you lose to him, or you are dumb, or you don't know how to play Yasuo. Get inside his aurelionsolW.png and block his aurelionsolQ.png with yasuoW.png

VS

Cho'Gath

Hard

Try to ask for ganks, bring 14.png and try to dodge his rupture.png as much as you can. 3046.png will help you, so as 3065.png. Be aware of his feast.png

VS

Darius

Hard

If you are a good Yasuo player, you will be fine, but the trick about playing against a Darius is getting inside of his dariuscleave.png with your yasuoE.png. If he gets you at least once, back off and heal at minions, or ask for ganks and stay safe.

VS

Diana

Medium

Freeze lane as much as you can, if she tries to cs, all-in on her and try to get the kill.

After lv6, if she hits you with her dianaQ.png, you need to take a lot of care, because she can burst you in 4 seconds.

VS

Dr. Mundo

Hard

He can kill you lv2 so take care. 14.png is very important to face him after lv6. Try to dodge his infectedcleavermissilecast.png as much as you can, and stay behind the minions to poke him out.

VS

Ekko

Easy

Ekko is only tanky enough to fight you after 2 items, so punish him before lv3 and try to kill him before that. Always be aware of his ekkoW.png and try to keep minions close to dodge his ekkoQ.png, saving your yasuoW.png for the moment that the minions are away. Remember, his ekkoR.png deals a lot of damage so try to bait it and yasuoE.png into a minion.

VS

Fiora

Medium

She has been nerfed quite a bit, so fight her when her fiorariposte.png is on CD and try to dodge her passive auto attacks with your E into minions. Remember, if you have 14.png and she does not, dodging her passive hist, you can kill her in a 1v1 full health

VS

Garen

Medium

Get lv2 first and poke him as much you can. If he turns his garenslash3.png up, just run till it runs off, then deal as much damage you can in 7 seconds, then come back.

VS

Gnar

Medium

If it is a good gnar, you are in trouble. Just fight him as mini gnar close to minions and wait for his mega gnar run out. you will be fine then.

VS

Gragas

Easy

Just out damage him lv2 and lv3

VS

Illaoi

Easy

Start with your yasuoE.png, fight her in lv1, dodge her illaoiQ.png and you'll be fine

VS

Irelia

Medium

You can out damage her, if you killed her lv4 or before. Just tru to get lv2 first and zone her out. Your poking is really important against her.

VS

Jax

Hard

If you don't kill him before lv3, you won't win against him anymore. Just try to fight and poke lv1 and 2, be aware of his jaxcounterstrike.png dashing away then coming back for fighting and you will be fine.

VS

Jayce

Medium

Block his poke, dodge his damage. It's a mechanical game to win him. Just keep doing short fights and using the minions to comeback without taking that much damage from him.

VS

Kayle

Hard

Literally the third hardest champ to face as Yasuo. Ask for ganks, be safe, start with doran's shield and good luck. After lv6 you are never gonna 1v1 her.

VS

Lissandra

Easy

It's easier than it looks. get close to her, save your yasuoW.png for her lissandraE.png, so when she walks back, just block it and she will have no option than flash away. Remember, before lv6, she cannot win trades. Get a QSS after ^ and you will be fine.

VS

Malphite

Medium

Really tanky. Just be fast with your E, use your sustain and keep poking him before 6. Ask for ganks then.

VS

Maokai

Hard

Way too OP. Pretty much you can only kill him before lv3 using 14.png to cancel his high healing. If you don't, ask for ganks or wait for a tower dive, knock him up and ult.

VS

Nasus

Medium

Freeze lane as much as you can. Kill him as soon as you can as well with no pushing. Once he gets 50 stacks, you won't win trades anymore.

VS

Nautilus

Medium

Use your skills to dodge his damage and hook. Kill him before lv6. If you are 1 level ahead, you will be fine.

VS

Olaf

Medium

Not that hard, just dash, poke and dash out. Do that several times and block his axe with your Wind Wall. After lv6, don't worry about him being olafragnarok.png, just run away and fight when its half way done, get a tornado ready and kill him.

VS

Pantheon

Hard

A lot of burst potential. Poke him. If you hit your yasuoQ.png in a minion, than hit him, his passive won't block it. If he stuns you, or you die, or he will.

VS

Renekton

Hard

Way too tank. Ask for ganks and wait for the dive. Renekton players always dives and messes up with diving.
