I prefer running this because of the easy kills you can pick up on people who don't expect your burst. R>E>W>Q>Ignite from a bush typically kills any mid.

This works really well if you are against a bruiser mid like zed and need to play passive. For the most part though I don't run barrier because I play an extremely aggressive AP Ezreal.

Pretty basic. The reason I run more AP rather than more defense is because with your range and mobility you should be able to avoid most of the damage in team fights and laning phase. 


Also I recommend having a back up rune page with armor rather than MR seals.

Offense: 

I would recommend running 2 points in butcher rather than havoc if you are not very good at last hitting early game. Other than that, the offense is very basic. 

Defense: 
You can run full defense if you want, but I recommend putting a couple points into mediation for the early mana regen. This should be obvious, but if you are playing versus a bruiser, get 3 points in armor, not magic resist.

Maxing W is what you will do versus MOST mids. It provides very nice harass without pushing the wave. However, versus some mid, 61_64.png, someone with a lot of skill shots, max E for much easier harass without the risk of dying.


Using true shot barrage (Important): 

 Your ultimate is your only form of AOE wave clear. Use it wisely. I like to use it as harass as well as a form of wave clear. You are not 99_64.png there is no red laser showing the enemy where you are aiming. You can hit people in your lane with it easily. I like to go behind my turret and ult the wave while the enemy mid is standing close to their minions. But if you are playing versus a heavy pusher82_64.png 121_64.png 238_64.png, you will need to save it to clear minions off tower mid game. Once you get your ult at level 6, this is your time to go back to base. Auto attack the melee minions in the next wave, then ult the wave to clear the wave instantly and do damage to the wave behind it. By doing this you will push your minions into their tower, forcing them to miss minions while they stay in lane. Recall as soon as you ult. 

When you have blue buff in lane, spam your ult. You will be doing insane harass and pushing their wave. Your cool down will be below 30 seconds with constant Qs. 


Mid/Late game:

Save your ult for team fighting, for the most part. If you recall and need to use your ult on a wave to get 100 or so gold, make sure your team is not going to fight anytime soon. Your ultimate late game will literally win team fights. A true shot barrage to any squishy adc will be doing 3/4th of their health.

    Awesome item late game. I'd recommend it as a 5-6th item, earlier if needed.
    Very useful if they are building heavy MR, typically 4-5th item
    Great for cool down reduction and mana regen late game. An early chalice can be purchase for extreme burst casters, if needed.
    Get this item if you team needs to kite. Its a great 4th item because your Q now has a slow on it. Lich bane will proc and give you an amazing slow. Great for cool down and armor as well.
    Nice item, I typically don't build it though.
    Can be used for great single target burst.

I typically will go with this build. 3089_32.png rush because your W,E,R will be doing amazing damage with it. Then I rush 3100_32.png. You need these items. Once you get these two Items, your burst will be outrageous. After you build these items, it is completely up to you. Look at their team. If they keep jumping onto you in team fights, get 3157_32.png. If you aren't dying, but they are building a bunch of MR, 3135_32.png. If you need more kiting , get 3025_32.png. Need more mana regen and Magic resist, get 3174_32.png. There is not a "Best Build", you just need to evaluate the situation and build accordingly.

Early game, this lane is a joke. You can dominate her with a poke that is slightly longer ranger than her Q. GO FOR THE KILL! Go in for the pre-6 kill against her. Once she hits 6, this lane because a little more tricky. At this point, try not to go all in, unless you know you can kill her. If you miss an aggressive E,W combo, you are dead.

Beat her pre-6, once she hits 6 build MR. And early 3028_32.png is really helpful against. She can follow you once you E, do not try and 1v1 her. Poke and farm.

Easy

Your harass with your W will shut her down hard early game. Death is my favorite form of CC. She will be forced to build mana and will be squishy. An ult will do half her HP early/mid game. Do not let her get to late game on par/ ahead of you, she becomes very hard to kill due to her egg.

You out range the heck out of her. Watch for her 4.png  ult, because that is the only way she should kill you.

Pre-6 farm and dodge his abilities. You can get a kill pre-6 on him, but once you hit 6, you can poke him down pretty easily. A nice ult from the brush>E>W>ignite normally does the trick

A good diana should be a hard lane for you. If she doesn't build and early 3001_32.png you'll win (Poke her down to 0). If she does, farm as much as possible. You out scale her, hard.

Just don't get hit by a her stun and do not E offensively, ever.

He can push pretty hard, just be sure to farm well under tower. Dodge barrels and win the game. Also you E is a GREAT tool to dodge his ult.

He is squishy with no mobility. Go in for the kill Pre-6. Easy money.

Save your E for when she goes in to ult. Farm to the side of the minion wave to not get hit with her bouncing blade. A pretty easy match up once you play against her a few times and figure out how to play versus her.

Low range, stay out of range of his AA and harrass behind minions. E out of hit ult easily.

Kha'Zix

Medium

Not as hard you would think. He cannot dish out damage onto you as much as other mids because you can simply E away. Learn to farm under tower with AP Ezreal (Its so easy) because one he hits 6, he can push pretty hard. W is your best friend, harass him like crazy. Build 3191_32.png early.

Master Yi

Hard

His sustain and pushing ability is going to make your life in lane hell. Build an early 3028_32.png for farming with Q. Try to get your jungler to gank pre-6. Just survive lane.

Mordekaiser

Hard

He pushes extremely easily and with no cost.

Orianna

Easy

She is all about landing her ball. Go for an easy kill once you hit 4-5. If you get once kill on her, stay in lane and snowball to victory. Mid game she can push very hard though, try to get blue as much as possible to spam your ultimate.

Easy

One of the easier lane opponents. Don't use E too aggressively, and hit him with W as much as possible. Go in for a kill pre-6.

Twisted Fate

Medium

Try to get an early lead on him. Ask your jungle to get a gank on him early. If you get a kill on him you can snowball against him easily and force him to stay in lane. Save your ult for when he trys to roam.

Zed

Hard

Rush 3191_32.png and never use your E offensively. Once you hit 9-10 you will have a much easier time against him. Try to farm as much as possible. Watch out for his level 6 combo. E out of it. Do not let him get a kill on you, what ever you do.

Laning Back to Top

Get Q first, you should not miss a single minion at level 1. Know the champion you are playing against and decide whether or not to be aggressive or not. If they have low pots in lane, HARASS LIKE CRAZY!. You should not be pushed out of lane pre-6. Your goal should be for at least 40 minions at 6 mins. Once you get around 1300 Gold, go back and get double Dorans, boots, and wards. BUY WARDS! Certain junglers you can get away with buying no wards due to your E. But against jarven, sejuani, maoki, and warwick (Just kidding no one plays warwick) you need to buy wards. 


You goal for minions should be 150 at 20 minutes. It is actually very easy to farm with AP ezreal because you can spam Q and not run oom. 

Roaming is easy with AP Ezreal, because you can hop over common warding locations. Roaming is risky though. If you roam and don't get kills, you just lost out on a bunch of CS and Experience. An AP Ezreal that is a higher level is almost as scary as an insanely fed one. 



Late Game Back to Top

AP Ezreal can single handedly carry a team late game. Your overall combo will be doing upwards of 3.5k damage. 


Teamfights: 

Your ultimate is you most valuable tool. If you can hit an ultimate on all 5 members of the enemy team with a full AP Ezreal build, you could have a brain dead cat playing on your team and still win the fight. Jungle fights are where typically everyone lines up, try to get in those fights. 

Late game DO NOT arcane shift in, unless you know you can get out of that area safely. The only time you should E into a dangerous situation is if their adc is low and you need to execute them for sure. Shift into their carry and proceed to 4.png out. 

Your Cooldowns should be very low at late game, just sit behind your tanks and spam abilities. Shift to the side, not forward into their team, to send out damage and not kill yourself. 

Late game is EASY, you will wreck team fights.
