Summoner Spells Back to Top

With the current meta 11.png and 4.png is the best to go for.

11.png will give you faster jungle clear while 4.png will give you that extra escape but can also work as a fast engage.

4.png can also be used to engage at early jungle ganks. Because 121_64.png lacks in hard cc, good ganks early can be hard to make. Thats why you always can use this spell combines with your own spells like E (Leap) to make a fast engage that can make up for some kills.

NOTE: If you are going to make an early gank before 6 and wanting to go all in be sure you have picked up both blue and red buff before doing this. Especially red buff will give you a nice power spike that can execute champions early.
Red buff also give you slow that will help you out if theres no good cc.

11.png and 14.png is something I dont recommend because you will miss the extra escape or engage that 4.png provides. But if you know you have the advantage and know you will be able to snowball hardly and will be able to survive with your own spells only, this is maybe something to go for. Againt a slow or early weak jungle like 32_64.png or 36_64.png a invade at some of the buffs combined with 14.png will almost ensure you a early kill.

6.png and 11.png is maybe something for you if you dont like the 11.png and 4.png meta. 6.png provides the same things like 4.png would with a way to both escape and engage.

Though there could be problems with the engage, especially if you want to go for that early gank kill. While 4.png will give you that fast way to come close your enemy, 6.png will only give you the advantage to hunt down. Also if the enemy have some kind of escape spell or have 4.png, it will be close to impossibel to make a kill if you dont counter gank or the enemy have pushed the lane to far.

  • 3x

Most of these runes probably wont come as a surprise. Here is how the runes could be.

QUINT AP.png Quints

Combine flat attack damage quints with flat attack damage marks give alot of damage. Good for ganking and clearing.

MARK MAGIC PEN.png Marks
Giving  good AD setup with flat AD reds and flat AD quints will give overall good jungle speed but will also be usefull in early game.

SEAL OF MANA REGEN.png Seals
Armor yellows for armor obviously.

GLYPH MAGIC RESIST.png Glyphs
When it comes to glyphs there are alot of different ways to. I mostly like flat MR glyphs because it give you good defence against AP damage. Scaling MR is better if you looking for power lategame while Greater glyphs give you power early game. I mostly choose Greater glyphs because I look to snowball early and Scaling MR probably wont give you that much early on.

A new thing to the S4 is the change to the cooldown you get from blue buff. Going from 20% CDR to 10% CDR is a big change. If you have the possibility you could choose to pick up CDR glyphs, this will make you get back the CDR that was lost last season combined with the blue buff. Also having CD in champs like 121_64.png is something most people find good. Also goes well with items that gives CDR like 3071_32.png.

NOTE: In most cases only go CDR glyphs if the enemy team miss the option to deal AP damage. If the enemy team had AP damage, skip the CDR glyphs and go for MR glyphs instead. Best time to choose glyphs that gives CDR will be against a high AD team.

The set I like to use mostly against both AD and AP is: AD reds, Armor yellows, flat MR glyphs and flat AD quints.

Utility: 0

This is just one of many new ways to go with the S4 masteries. I have not been ablet to experiment much with all the new things there is but for now this one is a possibility to go with. As for now the classic 21/9/0 for 121_64.png is the way to go. Its also much up tp the user what masteries there is to use. To try your own way through the game is a better way to find what masteries you find the best.

Picking up 21 points from the offense tree will give you the damage to be a high damage dealer both in early and late game. To have 9 points in the defence tree will give you some more toughness and survivability in team fights. You could always pick up points in the utility tree but for now 21/9/0 is the way I find best.

NOTE: These masteries are one way to go for the new season, but it could be changed after more testing.

SKILL ORDER: You should always start Q because it does a significant amount of damage already from the start. It has also a lower CD then W and make you clean jungle camps much faster. So the best way to go in the three first levels should be to pick up Q first then W and last E. Makes up for good jungle clears but also the possibility to make effective ganks combined with the blue and red buff. I do not recommend to instead go Q then W and last Q again because even with a higher damage that Q gives, you wont be able to come up close to your enemys in ganks. Taking up Q, W and E in the first three levels will give you a mutch better impact on the game from start. From picking up all abilities then go for maxing Q first then W then R and last E.

MAXING: Q > W > R > E

Skills:

UnseenThreat.png Unseen Threat (passive)
Activates when hes unseen by the enemy. The next basic attack against an enemy champion will deal bonus damage and slow by 25% for 2 seconds. This passive lasts until consumed and has no internal CD. I feel this passive is one of the better in the game. It increase your burst and give you some more cc with your basic attacks.

This passive will be activated every time you use your ultimate, which means you can proc your passive up to three times if you have evolved the R. The passive also have another bonus about it. If your going to gank a lane and dont see your passive getting activated, that means the area is warded. This is very effective if your going to take biger objectives like dragon.

Taste_Their_Fear.jpg Taste Their Fear (Q)
PASSIVE: Marks enemies that are isolated from their allies.
ACTIVE: Slashes, dealing physical damage to a single enemy. If the target is isolated, the damage is increased by 45%.

This ability is the main damage source. Because it has so little CD it gives alot of DPS and deal alot of damage with the passive. It can also be used while you use your E in the middle air. You can use that to both doing damage if you engage but also if you escape. Evolving this ability will give you some insane damage but also increased range. You can easy execute squishy champions fast with effective Qs.

Void_Spike.jpg Void Spike (W)
ACTIVE: Fires spikes in a line that explode on contact with enemys, dealing physical damage to all nearby enemys and slows for 20% in 2 seconds. Will also heal if your in the explosion radius.

This ability has good  clear and poke. At the same time it gives you alot of sustaine. The heal from W will help out alot and could help in every 1v1 situation but also will keep your health up in the jungle. Because this have good cc its important you will be careful where you shoot. If the lane you gank miss some kind of cc, your spikes is mostly needed to be hit. Evolving this ability makes you shoot three spikes and increase the slow by 30%. Because you the nerf of the poke meta, most people choose to not evolve this ability at all.

Leap.jpg Leap (E)
ACTIVE: Leaps to an area. Dealing physical damage to nearby enemies upon landing.

Will make you able to invade safe but also its mostly the first spell you cast when ganking a lane. It also makes you be able to go agressive very early because you can use the ability to make both engage but also use as an escape. On evolving the ability the ranged increases by 300 and also resets on kill or assist. This will make you beeing able to gank more faster and effective and also beeing able to take higher risks like tower diving because you have a way to escape. This is also my favorite ability on 121_64.png because it give you sutch good clean up potential combined with Q.

Void_Assault.jpg Void Assault (R)
PASSIVE: Each rank of Void Assault allows to evolve one of the abilities, granting it an additional effect.
ACTIVE: Enters stealth for 1 second, gaining 40% bonus movement speed while stealthed. Unseen Threat is also granted (even if revealed through stealth). Void Assault can be cast a second time within 10 seconds at no cost.

Increases the DPS alot because you can reset the passive. You can also use it in 1v1 situations and reset the abilities while you are in stealth. This ability also helpes out mutch if you are getting focused. You can fast engage in a team fight and then escape with the ult. Evolving this ability will give make you beeing able to cast it three times before CD. You will also take 50% less damage while in stealth.

Evolving:

Evolved Wings (E) > Evolved Enlarged Claws (Q) >  Evolved Active Camouflage (R)

Why Evolve E And Not Q: You evolve the way you think makes the most impact. I choose to evolve E first due to the fact we are playing 121_64.png jungle and not lane. Evolving E first will give you a huge power spike early into the game because it opens alot of new possibilities when it comes to ganks. If you instead choose to evolve Q first you will have a higher amount of dmage but lack in making effective ganks that E provides. Also the refresh you get from your E on kills or assist makes you beeing fast in cleaning up areas and then escape fast. Just maxing Q untill you evolve it later on should still give you a good amount of damage.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

Basic starting items for every jungler.

Core Items

Core items for every game. Works against any matchups.

Situational Items

Only armor item that should be built. If you feel that the enemy has high AD and Nija Tabi and Guardian Angel wont be enpught. This is a greate item.
Ninja tabi if enemy has high ad and mercery against a heavy ap/cc team. Mostly I like to go with lucidity boots because it gives the extra CD thats good to have if you snowball.
Good iteam against any team if you feel focused.
Best MR items you can have. Mostly I like hexdrinker over the others because I feel I get a better 1v1 but also good survivability.
One of thes two itesm should always be built. I like hydra better because it gives better burst, clear, hp regen. Bloodthirster should mostly only be built if you need pure damage.
Was main item before but still works. Even if it takes alot longer to stack the tear it does not mean its a bad item. Though if you need regen, taking blue buff should be better then buying this.

Start With

1039_32.png 2003_32.png 2003_32.png 2003_32.png 2003_32.png 2003_32.png

Thes items are basic starting items for every jungle. It give you the possibility to clear out camps effective but also keep your health up while doing so. I dont recommend some other start here and this is what you should go for.

3340_32.png 3341_32.png 3342_32.png

To pick trinket is all up to you. If you would like extra vision and use it to maybe invade or warding a lane 3340_32.png would be the best. I always like to carry around a ward for securing objectives like dragon, or ward an enemy buff. Other that would probably work greate is 3342_32.png for invades or just checking an area. This one I would see be best if you want to go very agressive and counter jungle alot. When it comes to 3351_32.png this could be good if you want to make sure the enemy have no vision of you when you want to gank. Because pink wards are now no longer in stealth I feel that this one is not as effective as it should. I would rather say taking 3340_32.png is the best chooise but its all up to you.

First Recall

On your first recall you probably will have some gold to speend. Picking up 1036_32.png or 1080_32.png to later getting a 3209_32.png is a good idea because it willgive you some good damage even with a cheaper price. Though if you find yourself snowballing you should rather getting a 1053_32.png or an item to get this 3077_32.png to later get the 3074_32.png. Getting this item early will make sure you can get controll and got impact on the game. Also remember to pick up some 2003_32.png so you can keep your health up in the jungle.

NOTE: If you are going for an early 3074_32.png, be sure to get 3077_32.png before 1053_32.png if you have the gold. This is because you still have the good active even if the item is not yet completed. Also it comes with mutch more damage then a 1053_32.png would give.

Mid Game

Now here on you should have some good damage item. Having a 3209_32.png and 3074_32.png is pretty much enough to execute the most enemys. Another greate item to pick up here is 3134_32.png because it give you early and good damage but also comes with CDR. A 3035_32.png is also a greate item to have here.

Hydra or Bloodthirster: Now because both 3074_32.png and 3072_32.png could be in use as main items on 121_64.png I still would say I prefer the 3074_32.png or the other items. It will help you to burst down your enemys but also have a good clear in both jungle and lane.

Late Game

With late game you should  have a completed build that makes good impact on the game. My favorite jungle late game build on 121_64.png is:
                                                              3275_32.png> 3209_32.png >3074_32.png>3035_32.png>3071_32.png>3026_32.png

This build comes with some good damage but will still be in the area of gold that a jungler can get. It also has items to surive teamfights better and should keep you alive. Both 3158_32.png and 3134_32.png give you CDR which is perfect with a blue buff. It gives you alot of CD so yu can use every ability in a very short time.

When it comes to defensive items the best should be 3026_32.png 3143_32.png and 3155_32.png. They are for sure the best itesm you could get and fits any game to atleast 80% of the time. They all make you survive teamfights alot better against both AP and AD damage.

If you feel focused 3026_32.png is the best item you can get. Makes you survive even if you would choose to make risky plays that could end with you dying. 3143_32.png should be taken up if the enemy has alot of AD damage that can burst you down. 67_64.png is a good example on that. Also the active effect is greate for escapes and hunt downs.

3155_32.png is not always a good item because you are in the jungle and wont get to many 1v1 situations. Best moment to get this is if the enemy has very high AP burst. Examples is 134_64.png or 7_64.png.

VS

Aatrox

Easy

High sustain but your sustain is higher. He will also be low on health in the jungle because he will use that to cast his spells. You can easy burst him down with your Q in any 1v1 situation. If his passive is on CD you will be able to kill him fast. If you kill him while he have his passive, be sure to be ready to kill him again when he comes up because he can easy jump away with the Q.

VS

Amumu

Easy

Weak early game jungle that wont bring much damage or CC when ganking. After he reaches 6 he will get a big power spike into the game, which will both be effective in both ganks but also teamfights. Though he have low jungle clear and you can even be able to kill at one of the enemy buffs early on. Try to make big impact early game.

VS

Cho'Gath

Medium

Alot of sustain and good clear in jungle but weak in any 1v1 early on. After 6 he will start to eat on the jungle and your allies. In late game it will be hard because he will have to much health but also damage, pretty much impossible to kill. Try to make early impact before he gets to big. Remember that 31_64.png dont have any escape and if you can dodge his abilities with your own he will be an easy target. Invading early can be good.

VS

Dr. Mundo

Easy

In the start of the game he will pretty much be low on health after every clear. As every smart jungler would do, try to invade him early because you could be able to kill him fairly easy because of the low health. Remember that he still has very high damage early on so dont get greedy if your not sure you can kill him. Though even with the health cost in the jungle he still has very fast clear. Dont let him farm, then you wont be able to kill him later on.

VS

Elise

Hard

Top tier jungler. Good clear but also very high early damage. She can do much better ganks then you any time in the game. Even from low lvl she will pretty much destroy you in anything. In this mathup you should stick to farming and counter ganking. Try to react to her movements on the map as best as you can.

VS

Evelynn

Medium

Very tricky jungler because you cant see her obviously. She will always have the advantages when it comes to ganking. While you have to get into a lane and deal damage fast to the enemy laner, she can pretty much just sneak into the lane without beeing seen. With S4 pink wards that was the best counter was nerfed. Try to react as good as you can to her moments and you could even try to steal one of the buffs early, preventing her to snowball.

VS

Fiddlesticks

Easy

Now this is a jungler you want to hold back. His damage and CD is huge lategame and you wont be able to 1v1 him later on because he can just use Q and then lifesteal with W. Best way to prevent a jungler 9_64.png  is to invade at the game start and steal his blue buff. He prioritize the blue very higly at the beginning because it helps him clear the jungle camps. Without this, he wont have high impact early. Try to be very agressive in this matchup because you dont want him to get to lategame, but if you manage to hold him back the jungle is pretty much won because he wont be able to come back before later on.

VS

Hecarim

Medium

High damage but also alot of mobility. When he hits 6 he pretty much wreck you when it comes to ganking. In early 1v1 you cant kill him because of the damage difference. After stacking up some items you should be able to deal with him. Both of you come with very good damage when it comes to ganking. Try to gank with high impacts and see who can snowball the most.

VS

Jarvan IV

Medium

Top tier jungler. Scales well with both early and lategame. High mobility, but also high damage and tanky. His ganks will always be better then yours because of his hard CC with E and Q combo. Be carefull with ganking because he can easy come in and turn the gank around. Be sure to know his position and ward lane before ganking. He have high impact early on so keep an eye on your allies and react to what he will do.

VS

Kha'Zix

Medium

When it comes to this, its only a fight in who is the better player. Who is making the highest impact and have higher mechanics. If you have higher mechanics then the enemy jungler, try to use thes to your advantages.

VS

Lee Sin

Hard

Top tier jungler and one of the strongest early game junglers. High mobility, good damage and very strong early ganks. He also work very well against you because he can block your Q with his shield that he get from W. Also he can easy use E if you try to use ult. This will prevent you from getting your passive and he will win the trades easy. Hes known for the early snowball he gives and try to react to him as good as you can. He will lose his power later in to the game but before this he will win in any situation. Try to bait this guy out, he will be agressive.

VS

Malphite

Easy

Slow clear and have horrible ganks in the early. He will get a power spike when he reach 6 because this will give him the engage and ability he need to make good ganks. Before this hes weak and cant react to anything you will do on the map. His also weak in 1v1 if he dont have tanky items. He have higher priority in use when it comes to teamfights. But unless that you can destroy him in any way.

VS

Maokai

Easy

Slow clear in jungle but good ganks thanks to hes abilities. He also has a bit of sustain but far from as strong as you. He is very weak against your burst and wont be able to do much if your the one going in. In any gank when it comes to damage, you will win.

VS

Master Yi

Easy

Can have fast clear but without any CC at all his ganks is mostly useless without his allies helping him. He also need alot of farm to get impact on the game. Invading him and steal his jungle will prevent him to get items he need. He wont be able to chase you down if you get caught. Feel free to gank anywhere in this matchup. You wont have to worry of threats against you.

VS

Nasus

Easy

Normal clear and have fairly good ganks. With W he will be able to chase down your allies that miss mobility. Biggest problem I see with 75_64.png is that he wont be able to get the farm he needs for good items, also his Q that he want to stack up for lategame wont get high. You will win easy both early and mid game. Be sure to not underestimate his lategame. He can be a true monster at that time. Also be sure to ward objectives like the dragon when he reach 6 because he can easy solo it on his own.

VS

Nautilus

Medium

Tanky with high clear thanks to his W. His also a perfect ganker because he have so high CC. He can become very tanky with only few items and at that time you cant burst him down. Try to countergank more then ganking because he can easily turn your own gank around. 111_64.png will have a high impact if the player choose to. Even with low damage he can be a hard champion to 1v1 because of his high CC and shield from W. Make good use of your abilities in this matchup and try to react to him as good as you can.

VS

Nocturne

Medium

Have always been a top tier jungler and is very strong in 1v1. His ganks before 6 is not better then yours, because he needs to come fast into the lane to be able to fear your allies. At 6 you wont be able to do much against his ganks. This ult will be strong both in ganks but also in teamfights. Dont try to 1v1 him if you dont know for sure you will win. With only an item like 3153_32.png he can be a fearsome duellist. Try to make good impacts on the game against him to make sure he wont dominate.

VS

Nunu

Easy

Not as strong as he was before. Still he have the ability to make any jungler crazy because of his strong counter jungling. Make sure to watch your jungle and objectives so he wont steal them away. Still he is very weak in any 1v1 and cant take your burst. He have also very weak ganks and cant react to what you will do. A good player will pressure your jungle to the limit. Make good use of 2044_32.png here to prevent that. Do this and you will win easy.

VS

Olaf

Medium

Both bring high damage into the game. Even so you wont be able to 1v1 him. He will easy be able to kill you with just hitting some of the abilities. If you want to pick a fight with him try to hit your abilities and dodge what he will throw at you. 2_64.png will pretty much be unstoppable in lategame because he is so tanky and has high damage. Try to make your lanes win and stick with your team. You wont win this solo.

VS

Rammus

Medium

Higher mobility then you have. Also he have a very powerfull taunt to CC both you and your allies down. His jungle clear is though slow and damage low. Try to see who can roll throw the game and win.

VS

Rengar

Medium

Even with his good passive that he gets leap from bushes but so has you. Both have high burst and good sustaine but you will win the trades mostly. Try to kite him and hit your Q. Both of you can snowball very hard. With a good damage item like 3074_32.png you will win the fights. This is also a moment to get your 4th evolution point.

VS

Sejuani

Medium

Brings high CC into the game. Her ganks is much stronger then yours at anytime. Even so your damage is superior. Try to gank and farm as you would do against any jungler. If she throw her ult try to dodge with R or E. Lets see who can win.

VS

Shaco

Easy

This clown is weak. He cant stand your burst and wont be able to stand against you. Watchout if he has 14.png because he can invade you early at a buff. Exept that you will win the matchup.

VS

Shen

Easy

He has slow clear but also weak ganks. Remember that he can countergank easy with hes ult. He will also stack armor against you. Build 3071_32.png and 3035_32.png so you can tear apart this ninja.

VS

Shyvana

Hard

Fastest clear in the game and have brutal damage. In any 1v1 she will win against you. Only thing you will be stronger in is ganking because she have no CC. Try to put the focus on ganking lanes rather then fighting this dragon. She will crush you.

VS

Skarner

Easy

Very low damage and even at 6 you wont fear his ult much. You have higher mobility and much more damage to bring to the game. He cant keep up with you.

VS

Trundle

Easy

He have fair jungle clear but cant stand your burst. Getting a countergank on him will take him down easy. Still dont underestimate hes ult, it brings alot of lifesteal together with items like 3153_32.png.

VS

Udyr

Medium

High mobility and also very fast clear. If he max tiger stand never try to 1v1 him because you will lose. He also have the abiliti to shield everything you throw at him. Its a very hard matchup but you will outscale him lategame.

VS

Vi

Medium

Can be very tanky but also have high damage. She also have a perfect ult to chase both you and your allies down. If she tries to escape be sure to save your E because she can always use her own Q to create a gap. React to her movements.

VS

Volibear

Medium

Very strong early. Can make strong ganks already from lower levels thanks to his Q. Also he will be hard to burst down in early game because of hes healing passive. The thing with him is that hes best damage source is W and that has a very high CD. Try making your trades then.

VS

Warwick

Easy

This is pretty much a free ticket to do whatever you feel like on the map before he reach 6. Before that he can only countergank and farm. Try making high impact early and even try stealing jungle from him. This will prevent him to reach his gank levels early.

VS

Xin Zhao

Easy

Good sustain in jungle but yours is mutch higher. You also outscale him hard in damage. If it ever comes to a 1v1 between you two, you will win. Remember he can use hes ult to get away from you.

VS

Zac

Easy

Low damage in start and its there you should make an impact. You will also outscale him early on. Remember he have a huge escape/engage combo that you should look for. Even with your E thats evolved you wont get him. Remember to not get greedy if he has his passive.

VS

Zed

Medium

Hardly never seen in jungle but if he is remember he pretty much bring the same thing as you do in the jungle. High mobility but also damage when ganking. In a 1v1 situation none of you have to high of an advantages. Even so if you can bait out his ult at 6 you can dodge it with either jumping away with E and engage again or time your ult right to prevent high damage. Without hes ult you can easy burst him down.

Some Tips When Playing Back to Top

Early Game

Always take blue and red buff at the beginning. Also get another camp to reach 3. After hitting 3 you can choose to either gank top or mid. But lane is probably warded also you dont have a good engage to make ganks early on there, so go for other lanes instead. When ganking a lane open with E. This will make you come fast into the lane and also surprise your enemy. After that try to land W which will give you a slow. A combo between the slow from W but also from passive together with the slow red buff provides it will give some good CC. After that just spam the Q button untill the enemy goes down. After hitting 6 you can start ganking botlane. Start with engaing with your ult to give you moment to come into the lane. After use the E to fast jump on the enemy and start throwing out damage. Remember that you will get resets from killing an enemy or getting assists. This will give opportunities for easy clean ups.
NOTE: Remember that evolved wings will make you able to engage on almost any low health enemy. IF you consider tower diving a enemy with low health, this is probably the right thing to do. If the enemy dont have any escape tool he will die. Jump in and kill the target then getting the reset and jump out.

Mid Game

Mid game some teamfights will probably start happening. Remember that you have high damage but still is squishy. Wait for the team engage first before going in. If you find a low health enemy you can choose to jump in with E and kill him. The reset will give you the escape you need to not getting focused. Your ult wont do so much here exept beeing used as a way to not getting focused or juke someone. Remember that 121_64.png strongest point in the game is mid game. Its not in teamfights, its rather because he can easy hunt down squishy enemy targets to get an advantages later on.

NOTE: When you use so much abilities remember to keep an eye on the mana pool. You dont want it to be low in the wrong situations.

Late Game

Now this is where you are not as strong as you was like in mid game. Most squishy enemys have probably defensive items now that will deny you from killing them fast. Also because you have so much damage here you will probably be focused. Buying your own defensive items will probably save you. You will have to think alot more here on what you do because dying here can end the game. Your still strong in 1v1 so if you find a squishy enemy you can always try to kill them. Split pushing also works because you can easy escape if the enemy react. Items like 3074_32.png will help you alot if your going to do so. But mostly you dont even want to come to this point in the game. If you are strong in mid game try ending the game before this time comes.
