Summoner Spells Back to Top

4.png and 7.png are the only two summoner spells you want to run on Xayah in the ADC position as they are flat out the strongest and most versatile spells for any marksman.

Runes Back to Top

  • 9x
+0.95 attack damage Greater Mark of Attack Damage
  • 3x
+0.64% attack speed Greater Glyph of Attack Speed
  • 6x
+1.34 magic resist Greater Glyph of Magic Resist
  • 9x
+1 armor Greater Seal of Armor
  • 3x
+4.5% attack speed Greater Quintessence of Attack Speed

This is the standard ADC rune page that you want to run on Xayah as well. 3x extra glyphs doesn't hurt you in terms of losing that much MR, but a lot of people (including me) prefer it due to it making your autos feel smoother in the earlygame.

RESOLVE

Fervor is extremely strong on Xayah due to the nature of how she fights; multiple autoattacks and then recalling your feathers with your xayahe.png with the massive AD bonus from Fervor added on. This combined with her bonus attackspeed from her xayahw.png makes Fervor an excellent choice on Xayah. Your last 12 points should go in the Resolve tree, to give you a shorter CD flash as Xayah is an immobile ADC, and also pick up that extra shield/heals/regen from Runic Armor.

This seems to be the best way to skill your abilities on Xayah currently. Your E max will Fervor will add a lot of extra damage throughout the game as opposed to the Q max that I've seen some people going for. W is maxed second due to the fact that you build crit, and more attackspeed gives more over all damage output as opposed to Q max second. Your ultimate, xayahr.png, is obviously taken whenever possible.

Your xayahq.png is often used in the start of fights, as it limits your ability to autoattack throughout trades. Get this ability on CD as fast and as often as possible to keep as many feathers on the ground as possible for bigger damage from your E. Note that this ability goes in a straight line, so if you move sideways in lane with it you can hit enemies trying to dodge it.

Your xayahw.png spell is only used in trades where you know you can get a solid 5+ autoattacks off. Don't use this ability in every single autoattack trade as the enemies can take advantage of it being on CD.

Your xayahe.png spell should be used whenever you have 3x + feathers on the ground and is confident that you can hit enemies with them. Don't throw this spell away after you think you will hit your xayahq.png for example, be wary of your feathers at all times and don't waste this spell.

Your xayahr.png usage is what defines a good Xayah player. If you use this ability while panicking it will end up as a mess. You want to be able to analyze the situation and only use your ult when the enemies throw their biggest threat spells at you (such as zedr.png or jarvanivcataclysm.png). As you get more comfortable with Xayah and understand the way your ult can change a fight, not only with extra feathers and damage but with utility, is when you can get the most out of this champions kit. Practice holding onto your ultimate until you desperately need to use it and get good with that, and it will make you a better Xayah player.

Items Back to Top

Starting Items

    Easy lane
    Hard lane

Core Items

Your first 2 damage items (ER->Hurricane)
Berserker's if they don't have a lot of AD, Ninja Tabi if they are heavy AD and you need more survivability
    Next items
    Full build example

Situational Items

Maw if they are heavy AP, Guardian if they are AD and you need the passive or Scimitar if you need the QSS active
Can be bought instead of Hurricane if you value the 1v1 potential more and play on sidelane

You want to run a crit build on Xayah with Fervor, and your damage in mid/lategame will actually be insane. You want to get your Essence Reaver+ Boots(Attackspeed or Tabi) as soon as possible. After that you either choose to build Hurricane (which I would recommend as it's overall the safest and synergizes well with Xayah) or Phantom Dancer as your attackspeed crit item. After that you either want to get a BoTRK if they have poke damage, or if you feel ballsy go for an Infininty Edge and have your 3 item powerspike be nuts. After you complete either BoTRK or IE, you get the other. Follow that up with an upgraded Last Whisperer to shred their armor, and if they have no tanks you can go for Hurricane/PD (the one you didn't complete yet). If you feel like you need the Guardian Angel passive you can build it whenever throughout your build, as it will still give you AD and Armor which is always beneficial. Maw is also an item you want to build as either 3rd or 4th item if the enemies have a ton of Magic damage. If the enemy teamcomp has a lot of CC that is dangerous to you (since you can only block one with your ult if the enemies play it smart) you can also buy a Mercurial Scimitar.

VS

Caitlyn

Hard

This matchup is medium difficulty if you have some experience playing against Caitlyn, but basically you can make it easier by matching her push throughout the game by spamming Q on minions+autos with your passive up throughout the game. In a straight on fight you always win vs. Caitlyn with Xayah, but Caitlyn just wants to push to your tower, start putting down traps and sieging you rendering your harass useless. Start looking for roots with your Q+auto+E combo throughout the entire game and get small health advantage trades that can lead into all in potentials.

VS

Draven

Hard

Draven is hard for Xayah as he has slightly longer range than you and has better autoattack damage throughout the game. You want to look to farm as safely as possible and try to avoid him until you have a few items, in which case you can start using your root combo for your team to burst him down (either Q+auto+E or R+E). You want to be focusing more on shutting him down with your roots rather than trying to fight him head on.

VS

Ezreal

Easy

Due to Ezreals weak earlygame and him taking longer time ramping up than you do, this is a pretty easy matchup for you as Xayah. He can't properly trade in minionwaves like you can with your Q+Auto+E combos (he can only use autoattacks) and he can never catch you out 1v1 due to your xayahr.png dodging his most important spells (most likely his ezrealtrueshotbarrage.png). Try to abuse as much in lane as possible by slowpushing waves into him, forcing him to auto and ezrealmysticshot.png creeps under tower in order to farm, and in the meanwhile either attack his tower or poke him with some xayahq.png. In mid/late don't be scared to start trading aggressively with him forcing him to ezrealarcaneshift.png defensively, he can almost never win a straight up 1v1 vs. you.

VS

Jhin

Easy

This is an easy matchup for you as Xayah as you can always choose when to disengage trades (most likely when Jhin has his 4th shot ready) with your xayahe.png root. Try to start trades when he is at his first bullet and go for a standard xayahq.png->auto->auto->xayahe.png trade which leaves him with only 3 basic attacks and a Q compared to your higher damage output+disengage. Be careful of overextending in mid/lategame however as if he has his 4th shot when you are low you might have to use your xayahr.png defensively which leaves you vulnerable to his own jhinr.png. Play it smart and calm and this is an easy one for you.

VS

Lucian

Medium

Much like Twitch, this matchup depends a lot on your ability to shut him down early in the lanephase and not get caught by him in midgame. Lucian is a great midgame fighting ADC (especially at fighting other ADCs with BotRK and Tabi), so you want to mostly avoid him until you have a few items under your belt. In lane try to force him to use his luciane.png to trade aggressively and follow it up with a xayahq.png+autoxayahe.png to land a root and win the trade against him. If you miss your xayahe.png during trades he will always win it due to him having more damage from Q than you do, but if you can land roots consistently this matchup isn't very difficult for you.

VS

Twitch

Medium

This is a matchup you can take advantage of in lanephase if you have a pushing support as well, due to the fact that you have a much longer poke range than Twitch. I put this matchup as medium and not easy however because of the fact that if Twitch doesn't get proprely punished in lane, he will start catching you out in midgame through twitchhideinshadows.png and there's not a lot of things you can do to counter it aside from trying to escape with your xayahr.png and xayahe.png if they are available. Try your best to screw him over in lane and he doesn't have the potential to assassinate you throughout the game as he would otherwise.

VS

Varus

Hard

This matchup is hard because of the same reasons as Draven. Varus has even longer range than Draven though which makes trading with him very dangerous because of his varuse.png slowfield making it an easier time for him extending the trade and controlling it to his liking. One redeeming factor in this matchup is that you should have a really easy time dodging his varusr.png with your own xayahr.png, potentially turning the trade if he overextends for it. Much like Draven, try to focus on using your xayahe.png root on Varus when he tries to push forward in fights and punish him with superior CC range rather than trying to win the autoattack war.

VS

Vayne

Easy

Much like the Twitch matchup, you want to abuse your stronger lanephase as much as possible before Vayne starts being able to duel you in the mid/lategame. Look for Q+Auto+E trades and don't overextend in lane+farm for your items and this is a really easy matchup for you.

How to play the different stages of the game Back to Top

Disclaimer: your ultimate, xayahr.png, should almost ALWAYS be used to dodge key abilities or CC from the enemy team such as zedr.png or jarvanivcataclysm.png. When getting used to Xayah get into this mentality and then start using it more aggressively when you feel comfortable playing around it.

Earlygame:

Xayah has a really strong early few levels (2-4) where a good root can land you some unexpected kills. Look for ways to get feathers behind your enemies with autos through minions+Q's to catch them with an unsuspecting E+Autoattack trade. Doing this a few times will leave your opponents at low health or can net you a kill. Be careful of overextending in trades however as Xayah is really squishy and has no mobility before 6.

Midgame:

In midgame you want to focus on getting your core items (ER, Hurricane+BotRK/IE+Boots) before you start looking for a lot of fights. Once you have these item completed you are a complete monster, and with good usage of your R you will win most fights because of the sheer damage output you have if you hit your E on multiple people. Don't get overly cocky though as your ultimate is your only escape tool. This is your strongest part of the game.

Lategame:

Xayah in lategame can be a beast depending on the enemy comp. Much like in midgame, you want to look to be safe and use your ultimate as a dodging tool much rather than a damage tool. Look for ways to set up multiple feathers through enemies in big teamfights, as it's super easy for enemies to get lost in big teamfights and they lose track of your stacked up feathers which can lead to a big bang.

Quick combos Back to Top

Standard trade combo:

xayahq.png->Auto(x times)->xayahe.png(root)

This trade combo allows you to make use of all your damage spells and include the CC part of your E for maximum damage in a short time. It's the one you want to look for the most in lane and to get picks in mid/lategame

Long trade combo:

xayahq.png->xayahw.png->Auto(x times)->xayahr.png->xayahe.png(root)

This is the longer version of the first combo that utilizes your W for extra autoattack speed and your ult for more feathers. This combo will grant you the most amount of feathers possible and the highest damage possible in the shortest possible time. Most times you don't want to use your ult for damage but if there's a possibility to hit a lot of people with it+get a lot of feathers down it's definitely a possibility.

E-Flash combo:

xayahe.png->4.png

If you have feathers on the ground but the enemy is positioning in a way that he can't get hit by your feathers, it's possible to E (to draw your feathers towards you) and flash after to position yourself in a way that will make your feathers hit the enemy. Can be very useful in clutch duel situations.

Supports that synergize well with Xayah Back to Top

BAE TIER: 497.png

Xayah and Rakan are the best duo bot possible for Xayah due to their synergy together. Their synergized recall (one of them can Recall and the other one can jump in whenever and recall with the other), the buff that Xayah gives Rakan on his autos and the increased E range of Rakan makes them a formidable pairing in the botlane. They are the real baes of botlane.

Tier 1: 412.png89.png117.png201.png

These champions all synergize well with Xayah due to their either tankiness or ability to set her up to keep autoattacking in fights. You can also notice that all of these champions also have really high pressure in lane.

Tier 2/Rest: 223.png37.png432.png26.png143.png

These champions all work well with Xayah as well, but due to their ability to set her up to carry better than the other champions mentioned in tier 1

Rakan synergy Back to Top

As all of you probably know, 497.png and 498.png has added synergy when they play together. If possible when playing Xayah and you have a good Rakan player on your team, try to get this combo as it adds extra effect to both you and him. Aside from having the ability to base together (one of you starts backing, the other comes close and joins in on the teleport to base), you have the ability to buff Rakan with your xayahw.png that gives him empowered autoattacks much like your own, that procs things like Runaan's Hurricane as well. Rakan also gains the interaction of having a longer range on his rakane.png which is something you should think about when playing Xayah with Rakan.
